Welcome to VHS Relics a channel featuring nothing but treasures from the VHS era, mainly ranging from the 1980's-2000's. You will mainly see commercials from various TV networks from over the years that are in my personal collection. Enjoy.

Do you know what month this is from?
@@matthewthescienceguy7627 My best guess is it's from June due to the Chop Socky Chooks promo saying "coming in July" at the end.
@@VHSRelicsAny clue when YTV or Teletoon stopped airing the Stay Alert, Stay Safe PSAs?
@@matthewthescienceguy7627 Not sure when they stopped airing, maybe a year or two after this?
@@VHSRelicsThe Stay Alert, Stay Safe website discontinued around January-February 2008, so maybe around there.
I want some WGBH promos from 1996, 1998, and 1999. I really enjoyed the 1997 video. Especially with the announcer saying “You’re watching ’GBH 2”

@@VHSRelics what about tvtropolis 2010/2011
Again, I don't have anything from TVTropolis. Besides I don't post things from after 2009.
@@VHSRelics okay do you have any Peachtree tv commercials breaks
@@catthekitty9286 I have some from 2012, but as I said I don't go beyond stuff from 2009.

Why not Richard Zurawski and Peter Coade
@@canadianmike711 I think I might go back and edit the description and put their names in for their respective segments. From this point forward whenever I find news or weather updates I'll put the names of the anchor/meteorologist featured.
He worked at asn when Peter was away.

At the 3:49 mark: I didn't know that there was an additional shot of the WGBH ID, where it would then quickly crossfade to where the short version would usually begin. And also, I was born in that U.S.A. state of where WGBH is. P.S. If you find anymore WGBH 2, and/or WGBH 44 stuff from the 2000's decade, notify me in advance, please? Thanks.
@@carlosaguilar6843 I have some more WGBH promos from 2005 which aired during a pledge drive, as well as another one from December 1997. Also I usually post links to my new videos as soon as they drop in the community tab on my channel.
@@VHSRelics I’ll be waiting for updates about the remaining WGBH 2 stuff from 2005, which, as you said, aired during some pledge drive program.

@@VHSRelicswhat about PBS kids pledge drive Zoom right now please❤🎉
@@MarissaOlivaO2134 I don't have any PBS Kids pledge drives or ones that relate to Zoom. But I have two from WGBH one from December 1997 and another from 2005 that aired during classical concerts. I might upload them when I get around to digitizing them. I have plenty of tapes and It takes a while to look through them.
@@VHSRelics what about PBS kids commercial break Wgbh 2 Zoom Caroline botelho tell about the zoom zone in town in Boston children's museum
We're there still some digital ink & paint animation left in Canada in the 2000s?
I think around the early part of the decade there might have been, but by the end, judging by the U.S. it was probably strictly digital.
I didn’t know PBS has Described Video!?
They've had it for quite a while. They started experimenting with the DVS system as early as 1986 with it being featured on a few PBS shows in 1990.

Nothing. I only have footage from WGBH and WTVS that aired during non-children's programming.
Thanks for sharing. Check out the YTV Schedule Archives if you're interested in looking at more schedules and information from the channel's history.
Pretty nice finds of classic YTV! Hope you got more!
I have a few more tapes from YTV. One has an hour of the Zone from May 31st, 2001, and another has an airing of the film Scrooged with Bill Murray and other shows from December 15th, 2008. I'll upload the ads from them as I go through my collection.
@@VHSRelics Ah that's nice and sounds good! It'd be great to see those! Can't wait :)
Olliver's Adventures didn't air during 2007. Its last run was in 2005.
You are right about the final episode airing in '05, however the Teletoon branding seen throughout the video was introduced in February 2007 as well as the promo for Chop Socky Chooks being advertised as a new show (the first episode aired in Canada in March 2007 but not regularly until July.) I'm thinking it's from 2007.
yeah and I don't recall Rescue Heroes airing in 2007 either
@@VHSRelics I never said the channel didn't rebrand in 2007,nor was I talking about it. In fact I never said those promos weren't from 2007 at all. I was talking about how Olliver's Adventures didn't air in 2007,and therefore, should've remove the mention of it. The coming up next bumper is more likely to be a placeholder, because Olliver's Adventures was removed from the channel in 2005. Same thing with Rescue Heroes.
@@commandixnostalgia2321 Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
i cant for the life of me remember MITV all i remember is ASN/ATV/CBC that i could get OTA here in PEI
ah just looked was global before global lol i did get it sometimes but i dont recall it being called MITV
They became known as Global Maritimes in 1997, nine years after they launched. So yeah I don't blame you for not remembering them. In fact, this is only footage from MITV I have.

Any intro & commercial break to a regional Toronto Maple Leafs telecast from the 1999-2000 season on CFTO, Sportsnet or TSN?
No, I don't have any.
Any word on the intros or commercial breaks to a baseball game on CBC from 1995 whether it's a playoff simulcast or a Blue Jays game?
I'm still working my way through my collection. I finished archiving all the tapes I found in 2017 with only one tape in 2018 being next. It's on one of the tapes I found in 2019 so I'll check when I get to those.

loved TBS back in the late 90s early 00s was my go too non canadian channel
It's a shame that they along with other cable channels have strayed away from what made them so great in the past. I know that over a decade ago we got Peachtree TV here instead of TBS.

Any commercial breaks to CBC's broadcasts of Blue Jays Baseball from 1997, 1998 & 1999?
Unfortunately no, but I swear I have some other baseball game recorded from the CBC in 1995, not sure if it's a Jays game or not. I also have a tape of the 1992 World Series in which the Jays won. That was taped from CTV/ATV. I'll get around to both when I can.
@@VHSRelics Well, I'd love to see it. Whether it's a baseball playoff or Blue Jays game aired on CBC that summer.

That smoking PSA is one of the SADDEST ever. And I always loved those Yellow Pages ads.
Yes, it was really sad.
It was actually an American ad that the provincial government repackaged. They did that with a few other anti-smoking PSAs.
Interesting, I had no idea about that.
