Chris Builds It

Welcome to Chris Builds IT - My passion is working on automotive projects, but I also do a lot of home improvement projects and custom builds. On this channel you will find mostly how to projects but also just some videos of projects getting completed. I have always wanted to build things as long as I can remember, and now that I am able to do what I enjoy I started this channel to share what I do with you!

Great video , but I cannot get the house to close. Everything is lubed and new oring , yet it will not close. Aligned with slot ( top ) as well. Any advice , we used some serious leverage and it would go in on one side and not the other.

I have watched a whole bunch of different videos on this subject before i attempt this myself. This is probably the best video I have seen yet. He goes into great detail in every step of the process as well as mentioning stuff he would have done differently afterwards.

If I have 5” gutters. How much area do I lose with water entering downspout. In other words, I have roughly a rectangular opening but with this installed I will have a small round opening for the water entering the downspout.

I am not a professional, but from what I understand, and from the installation instructions that come with the Oatey shower pan liner, the wall (cement board or whatever you use) should be installed before the the drypack?

I would have run them in a series rather than as three separate units tied into the same line. This would provide maximum heating while also alowing you to run the pump at full output. Other than that, great job!

I was so excited to find an actual person review this set up before I bought it. Almost 5 hours later, I still do not have a setup that can be used. You have nicely plumbed your setup. So for those of us amateurs... I cannot get a seal at ANY fitting. Even the chinzy hose that came with it from the filter to the pump. My other pump hose connections always had a near-flush gasket at all the fittings. These fittings are relying on just the clamp. The directions (that are horrible with no illustrations) say to put Teflon tape on some spots... did not work. Also the winter drain fitting is a nightmare to get tight enough so it doesn't drip. My husband will be working on fittings tomorrow and I will update comments.

The use of non treated wood in contact whit concrete and moist surfaces is a no know mistake, wood expands and rotten over time causing a poor performance and damage of the materials attached Don’t repeat this huge mistake. He works very clean and organized

I am not a fan of dry placement of concrete. While it can look as good as wet placement, it is much weaker. I can say that with confidence because I have tested both wet placement and dry placement samples. BTW, high strength concrete has Portland cement in it. Aside from really expensive polymer based concretes, all use Portland cement as a constituent. Another common problem is in the process of misting and flooding, it can wash away some of the fines at the surface so you tend to see more exposed aggregate. For the samples I tested, the surfaces looked almost better than wet placement, but the edges were easier to chip off. But in the compression test the true reality sets in. It broke at half the strength of the wet pour using the same mix design.

It would have been much better to use a black asphalt peel and stick roofing material for flat roofs or some metal roofing. That tar paper will break down in the sun and heat in two seasons. But the concept is cool. Just use beer materials, and stain steel fasteners.

I have an 01 same excat van. Mine was overheating and i replaced the water pump and thermostat. I didnt know that bleeding would take that long so was not bled as long as you did. After 2 bottles of blue devil head gasket seal the temp gauge reads fine, but no heat still from heater and the coolant is disappearing. Cant find a leak and replaced water pump gasket. Do i need to bleed the system correctly or could thermostat need to be replaced again? I dont see coolent in oil either. Thanks for any advice and thank you for this video!
