Maximus Ironthumper is a musician and organ builder. As a musician he can play ALL the right notes, although not necessarily in the right order. When it comes to organ building he relies heavily on his friend and fellow youtuber Spungletrumpet. Together they are constructing a pipe organ for the modern age. Made from parts of old church organs, theatre organs and miles of wiring, the organ is to be carried by an ex-Red-Army six wheel drive lorry. This will then be on the road touring in the UK and beyond to fulfill a need for pipe organ music many people may not even know they have.

Looks like an old Bradbury. Fit new ropes and if any wear fit new pulley wheels. They arnt as expensive as people think. If you fancy a similar aged 3 poster lift I’ve got one you can have. It’s being pulled out at the end of the month to make room for a new 2 poster. There’s hundreds of these old girls up and down the country 40 years plus still grafting every day. Shame things don’t last like they once did.
It is indeed an old Bradbury - a 700 I think. Thanks for the offer of another but one's enough for me!
Should have asked for help Max, I’d pop down to help you
Max it’s got to be time for a garden update surely! Any luck on growing grain again this year?
No garden at all this year!
Is that a Lolode trailer Max?
No idea!
Opioids are best antidepressants to be honest. Prove me wrong?
I found opioids simply removed my ability to care about anything, so excellent for pain relief, but not much good for anything else, as ultimately I do want to care about things. Whereas at one point in life, the right antidepressant at the right time enabled me to function well enough to get my life back on track.
Really enjoyed this video, great to see kermit earning his keep - what a fantastic vehicle!
Well... the WEF isn't going to like this, you might have just used up all your carbon credits for the year, no traveling outside your district or going outside Maximus. 😅😉
Thats a propper bit of kit.. thought you ment car ramps.. good salvage
Long days bring many memories, and a trip to the unknown is always a treat. Thanks for letting me ride shotgun. I would also like a 4 post lift. good score boy and a nice bit of countryside to boot. Cheers
If there is a vehicle on the car lift, there does not look like there would be any clearance when you take into account the structure roof to lift the vehicle up to a working height!
Oh no, I wish I'd though of that! What a waste of time that whole mission was then. ;-)
@@maximusironthumper ha ha ha ! 😂 Got to love the 'bleedin obvious' comments 😁 All the best with your projects - great to see your down to earth practicality ... you get the job done, solid and reliable ! ✊👍
👍🏻🍻
I always love a Max upload, always interesting
Nice work on that trailer, and I suppose it's been edited, but I know if that'd been me, the brakes would have been seized on etc. etc. and that would have been another days work making sure that the trailer would actually brake itself!
Thank you very much for this video. We've found a Pickhill Bantam welder hidden under the stairs in my Dad's house after his death a year ago, and I found your video whilst searching for options as to what to do with it. We've no way of restoring his. But watching your video - Dad would've very much enjoyed it and been encouraged about trying to resurrect his own welder, which hadn't been used since at least the early 1980s.
That is exactly how I roll! Best thing ever garbing a bargain, working out how to get it home. Strapping it on a old trailer. I currently have a lorry body on the back of a trailer I need to work out how to get off. If you fancy a challenge!?!
Top stuff hope it works out
well done and fair play on loading that amongst those obstacles!!! after a 3hr drive!
Brilliant to see the old truck out earning it's keep.
My thoughts exactly.
Hi. Glad to see Kermit earning it's keep. Im not a landie man but should there be that much free play in the steering? Good luck.
Nope, it's excessive, will be sorted in a future episode.
@Eightballracing888 - the few landies' I've 'guided' on the road all had their little 'quirks' ... slightly drifty steering / brakes to steer with ... etc 😅 ... but they just keep going ... and going ... 😃
Well done! A nice project!
Buyer to dismantle and collect… good job you had all the right tools! Good foresight and great effort Max! 🍻
Yeah... you know it's gonna be a big job when you say "oh, I'd better pack my sledgehammer".
Short video but a cracking video to watch loved it x
Random question Max after all your efforts there but where did you get your tonneau cover from? Although knowing you, you probably made it!
It's just a heavy duty 7x5 tarp that I adapted slightly to fit. Full details in a future video!
@@maximusironthumper I knew it! I've made myself one out of left over 3mm roofing rubber but it's a bit heavy duty.
Where’s the ZIL?
Right in the background at 1 minute into the video.
@@maximusironthumper have you got any plans to renovate it? I think the last vid on it was 2 years ago?
@@bartoni79 Yes, work is underway, just released an update video on Patreon yesterday.
Great video Max. Another person on KZread called Joel bought a ramp too and he's got a full video on it. @My911 is his channel and in the other stuff on his playlists. Might be a good / interesting watch for you. 👍
Kermit….what a great workhorse it’s proving to be 👍
If you put it in the magic brambles, will it breed parts?
You came just past me @ Yeovil 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Well Mr Ironthumper, it would seem, after years of not needing soft, nancy boy luxury Tools....oh wait !😀
Got a feeling that the adventures of kermit are going to be a very popular part of the channel 😊
Not sure if it was just me but do you have loads of play in your steering?
Yep, well spotted, will be addressed in an future episode.
@@maximusironthumper Ha lol, reminded me of an old movie. Look forward to seeing that.
Trailer needs painting to match kermit
Is that an actual Bentley sitting there beside the little Fiat ???
Yep! There were some very expensive cars I had to squeeze past to get the trailer in and out.
Stand the building on the ramp so it goes up with the vehicle. Great work, i fetched on in a transit.
I like what you have done with Kermit love the black and yellow suits it very well.
Nice bargain there, definitely earned a beer.
2:18 I did a double take to see how close that battery was going bang welding to the piano wheels?
I was waiting until the 7:50 mark wondering why you'd chucked a couple of batteries in the back! Nicely done :)
I have seen a roof mounted to a 4 post lift/ramp rather than having multiple posts on the ground, think it even went up and down with the ramp
You'll wonder how you ever got by without it. I got a two post lift for £300 last year. Took a while to figure out how to convert it to single phase and I had to put a bigger pulley wheel on to gear it down but I just love it. Jobs I used to do laying in the dirt I now do reclined in an old office chair with a cup of tea on a table next to me. Another great video Max, thank you.
Brilliant 😄 Reminds me of some of my Bright ideas over the Years 😄 Kermit is Fab, my kinda vehicle, Great Adventure👍🏻
Big job, just started.
Nice work my KZread hero of frugality and ingenuity!
You did well on your own. The post with the ram and hydraulic oil tank, presumably still in hence keeping upright, are bloody heavy.
the steeringbox might need some attention ?
Well spotted! Coming up in a future video.
Your wipers are amazing compared to mine, is that how far S3 wipers are meant to go?
I assume so! I did rebuild the whole system and just set it up by trail and error.
