100% with you. Everyone claims FF bodies are getting smaller so the size argument is moot. It's really about the lenses. Physics is physics. You need more glass to bring in light to hit the bigger sensor. I have FF, APS-C, and MFT. I grab MFT 95% of the time. Smallet, lighter, and more fun. Most folks view my photos on computers and cellphones, so I dont need maximum megapixels. Plus, those large FF pictures slow down my machine during post-processing and clog up my storage.

Hello - prices of lenses for my micro 4/3 Lumix G80/85 makes me cry. Very pricy. Is it very justified to have Lumix G80 with Lumix 100-300mm II lens or it will be good enough to have compact 1 inch sensor Lumix Fz1000mkII or Lumix Fz2500 ? What are the pros of having micro 4/3 system in this situation ? Why exactly these lenses are so expensive ? How they are different from this mechanics in 1 inches superzoom compacts ? I shoot mostly birds. I don't do portraits because I don't have people to do this.

During the film days I switched to Canon 35mm system and particularly loved the EOS RS camera and the superb F1n. The system was perfect although Canon's pro. afrer sales service here in the UK wasn't so good. Anyway, my latest change to Olympus mft cameras and gear seemed and has proved to be the perfect solution as I'm now in my mid seventies and need a less bulky and lighter system to continue to make my photography a manageable pleasure.

Super excited for this lens, although I mostly only shoot stills. My only concern is the VERY EXPOSED electronic contact point on the front of the lens. Does it come with any type of protection to put on when you're not using any attachment? And no, I don't mean the lens cap.
@holdmylenscap72412 ай бұрын
unfortunately no, but the lens itself is weather proof, but you are right about those contacts. I will ask Samyang about it and will get back to you

Thanks for a super useful comparition for us poor consumers. I still can’t decide. I’ve got an Olympus E-M1 mk1 and a Panasonic GX9. Both have IBIS, but I’m not sure if the GX9 and the Power OIS will work together. I think it has to be a more PRO body. The thing that makes me lean more to the Olympus version is its minimum focus distanse of 90 cm vs Panas 1,5m. That’s a huge difference!
