    @@hooforce Thank you! I do like to move around to get different shots through longer videos so it’s not the same thing over and over again. As it was getting darker out, it would be harder to see the planes when I’m in the dark areas near the runways. So the only way I would get a good shot of them would be when they flew right over my head at the gas station. The fireworks were sure a nice surprise! As always, thank you so much for watching!

    I remember the fight home to okc from a trip in Atlanta . I was on a delta plane. It was rough like this. There were thunderstorms and fun fact a CEO of an airline company was sitting right next to me. He said turbulence is like boat waves you may rock back and forth but it’s safe.

  • @airviation8446
    @airviation844610 күн бұрын

    That’s cool! Even though turbulence may feel scary, it’s no cause for alarm. It’s just the wind pushing the plane around. Those pilots are trained to handle it safely. Nothing to worry about. Thanks for watching!

    Wow! Definitely not a full flight from BWI-RIC…especially if they had to move people around to shift the weight. That’s not good to have so few people on the flight. Hope more people end up using that route in the future. Gotta get more people using RIC. And geez…what a dead airport at 1:00 am! Wish there were flights around the clock. Man, RIC has some serious growing to do! Great video - gave good perspective for me that RIC is still very small. Need more people, more flights…and the flights have to get filled!

    I’m sure this route will be used more. It was also empty because it was literally the middle of the night. I’m sure as Richmond grows, there will be more flights coming in 24/7. At least our airport isn’t a tiny, tiny regional airport in the middle of nowhere. Thanks for watching!

  • @airviation8446
    @airviation8446Ай бұрын

    I definitely prefer the older engines over the newer ones because they are louder than the new ones. But I think these still have a pretty unique tone to them. Also if you sit at the back of the plain, you will hear more of a growl rather than a whine because of the amount of air being shot out of the engine.

My goodness, how long were you out there to capture 26 minutes of footage?! Love the Airbus aircraft and watching their landing gear going up - it’s just so sleek looking! Made it seem like a busy day at RIC and if you were there on Friday, it was the busiest day at RIC ever! Anyway - keep ‘em coming! Love to see the air traffic at RIC! I flew a 757-300 from PHX to DTW in Jan 2024. While I love the 757 family, Delta has not spent the money to install live TV or offer free internet on the aircraft I flew although it appears that LiveTV was available on your flight. I fear the 757 entire family is destined to be sold and converted to freighters in the very near future.

    Yeah, it’s an older plane, but still one of favorites! Also, maybe every plane is different? Because there wasn’t WiFi on this flight, but WiFi on the other. Not a small city, but I guess it’s all relative. Small compared to LA, NYC, Chicago, but I’d consider it a medium sized city…and it’s growing! More people in the region equals more people using the airport. Not only do these B757s fly between ATL and RIC everyday, but it happens about 6 times a day!

    Great trip report! The 757 had a surprisingly smooth takeoff and landing - impressive. I think it’s awesome that Richmond has regular 757 service on Delta to Atlanta many times per day! Looked like the flight was fairly full, am I right? Was it 100% full? If not, what would you say was the % filled? Again, awesome job! You need to fly more from RIC😊! ;)

  • @airviation8446
    @airviation84462 ай бұрын

    Thanks for watching! Yes, the 757 lands pretty smoothly. Probably, because there’s a dual landing gear in the back. So, there was a good amount of people on this flight, but I actually had an empty seat right beside me which was nice! I would say it was maybe 80% full. Richmond to Atlanta is a busy route. Which is probably why they use 757’s for it. I’m hoping to fly out of RIC more often. Thanks for watching!

Awesome work! I give you props for sticking it out in the rain too! Next time, I would like to see you zoom in on the city skyline and the terminal from that vantage point. Well done! I know you probably spent a lot of time out there capturing these, but this is probably your best video to date of RIC plane spotting! As we draw closer to the summer months, it’s going to get busier and you’ll see a lot more air traffic. Can’t wait to see those videos! Dang, this was just freaking awesome! Thank you!
