So long story short unexpectedly saw my ex-almost lifelong best friend today for the first time in years and of course discovered this song falling in love with it relating sooo much to it in middle school (& tbh still in my 20s, perhaps even worse 😅) with her. Felt an affinity to listen to it & thought it would bring back more of the pain from mourning that friendship but actually this song just means so much to me (never even freaking released yet might be the most important one to me crazy how that is; praying it’s on Debut TV) that I couldn’t help but have an instant smile 💕

The song still never was given album treatment, likey because another band said she had lifted the melody from them. Taylor probably decided to drop the song from her debut album tracklist after that, although there are some videos out there where she's trying to change the melody to the song.

Actually, surprisingly this one would sometimes get played on country radio! That’s how I discovered it one summer in middle school, talk about the most perfect middle school summer song everrr. Still remember the exact moment like it was yesterday & treasure it, plus my first time watching the Our Song vid. Then we’d often look it up on KZread (which started in 2006, perfect timing) even would hack to download them from KZread and put on my iPod (not iPhone, LITERALLY iPod lol) otherwise people would Limewire it I believe. Kinda like an illegal Spotify if you haven’t heard of it before 😂 it was risky business especially with how many of us were still super young doing that & trying to avoid viruses lololol memz + the constant fear of omg is the fbi gonna mind out and arrest me 😅
