    This sounds great BUT being an old geezer with arthritis- does this require a TON of power to utilize the crank? I have a 67 IH Scout to use this deal on- Will it be ok for me? AND I can weld but only have a 110 V Lincoln that I can use.

    what's wrong with your honda is that it only got small intake valve ideal only for good fuel consumption and not for high speed. the multi hole injector is for bigger valves or 125 cc chinese motorcycle. a stock 125 cc chinese motorcycle are 27mm intake valve and 24 mm exhaust. your honda is tiny 22 mm intake valve.

    I watched Part 1 and just finished watching Part 2 of the video series explaining this experiment to get more power for your Honda Trail. I found it interesting and educational. As a relatively affordable upgrade for the Honda Trail 125 (now 143cc), it's an appealing solution. That said, it seems the overall limits of the Honda Trail continue to manifest. As a "do it all" bike, the demands of highway riding or heavy loads of cargo (or rider) continue to push the envelope of what the bike's engine can accomplish. Or, put another way, the engine's power output remains the "limiting factor". Thanks for sharing your upgrade adventure. 🙂

    What a lovely little engine to work on. That's another advantage of choosing a smaller machine, as well as great economy and just the lower weight when you need to push around or manhandle. I had a 90, super little sporty model (SS90, 90SS?) in the 70s and it was the most fun bike I've ever owned. Great video, thanks for posting.

    All the engine weight is down low because of the cylinder lying almost flat, the triple clamp and frame neck being low, and the tank under the seat. The bike feels lighter in terms of balance than what the scale says.

    The ct125 dosent need something to make it go faster, it goes at the correct speed to see life and beauty and humanity unfold in an enjoyable way. The problem is the worlds going to fast and it’s everybody’s job to recognize this and slow it down. The ct125 is a tool to help you recognize this and recalibrate your life. Don’t screw the tool up by making it fit in with the broken world.

    High-lift jacks are FAR more usefull than that little low-lift trailer tongue stand you have there. It may be expensive and complex to make, but it will never replace a proper High-Lift. You just lost credibility with that non-sense claim. Sod off.

  • @brennanmetcalf
    @brennanmetcalf4 күн бұрын

    Have you ever used one by chance? The overall range from 6" to 50" is actually broader than the usual 48" high lift. Yes, you 'only' have 15" of stoke available in that range, but in practical application you burn up nearly half of the high lift jack stroke just getting it into position. The TaulerJack then stores in half the space as your typical farm jack and far easier to use while being much more intuitive for most people.

Thanks for your time and effort to finding a great upgrade option!

    If you cut the crank handle off at the top bend and weld a socket on the stub of the crank, could you run it with the electric impact I’m sure you’re carrying? And if that works, would you be able to set it under your axle tube and jack the tire off the ground without strapping it to your frame? Even if my hairbrained idea doesn’t work, I like it better than my Hi-Lift for what it will do.

  • @ozarkgarage
    @ozarkgarage12 күн бұрын

    You can replace the handle with a nut and use a ratchet and socket to give you clearance in any direction or let you use an extension. Electric power will spin the gears too fast and damage them according to @brennanmetcalf.

  • @brennanmetcalf
    @brennanmetcalf4 күн бұрын

    You don't want to use an impact on this mechanism. There is a shear pin in the bevel gear on side wind jacks that you will shear off. You can use an electric drill if you want, but then you need to carry an electric drill, batteries, etc. Keep it simple. The best thing I have found to make the handle actually more useful is to retrofit a spark plug socket head to the input shaft. This gives you a 3/8 square AND hex drive. I use a stubby 3/8 ratchet with a folding handle welded to it. If the handle doesn't have to make a complete revolution anymore, the Tauler Jack will fit in even more places a traditional farm jack will not.

    i love that tire they seem to be great on any terrain . they just dont last on roads. i only get a little over 2k miles on the rear. but i will buy them more often because i love them. and the exhaust pull the resonator out cut the screen off it and put it back in. very little difference in sound and no difference in speed but does seem to give more torque. i just rolled over 8000 miles on it i want to do some engine work to try and get a little more power. but i'm finding it hard to change something up that runs so good as it is. i have just started playing with gears. and found 15x36 is just to high geared for my weight. but found 15x39 seems to be good for me for speed. but off roading i found a 13x41 seems to work good for me. so i will keep the 41 on the real and run a 15 on the front and its so close to the stock 14x39 i cant tell a difference. but yet i can drop the front and get more power. just a couple things i have tried so far.

    I'm about 5' 10" 190lbs. 2100 miles on my 125 now. Mostly off road miles. I personally have no issues with the luggage rack bar or the heel shifter. Maybe twice now, I've hit my tailbone on that bar. And I can stand up with no issues from the shifter (size 11-11.5 shoe). I think I'm just used to it. I actually have 2 of these bikes and when my tall friend rides with me, he has both issues you mention. So ya, it all depends on your size and how used to the bike you are.
