I went there in the 90’s when I was a kid. That basement torture section messed me up 😅 Sad to hear the museum closed. I would’ve loved to visit now that I’m older

Yakima needs a history lesson on the crusades. Muslims and Christians should join forces against the darkness. The whole west coast does.

Whatever came of the story that Butch Cassidy's gun was found among William T Phillips personal possessions after he died. Would the host of this fascinating story please get back to me about this question. Also it had been supposedly been reported the WTP knew the way back to Butch's hideout. I had heard this several times over the years.

I am not sure about the gun. I never found a reliable source on it to confirm.

The haunted kalakala. One of my first experiences doing paranormal research, the group I was in, the Washington State ghost society, were guests of the aghost group, who took us onto this ship. The car deck was pretty much rusted out and gone, so we were allowed upstairs. This was about 2000. A very cool ferry for sure.

this narrative is very American centric completely ignoring that the Hudson Bay Company and NW indigenous Americans were there before them. Ft. Nisqually was established in the 1830's before these American settlers. The Hudson Bay employees rarely brought wives and as a result married local women and had families. Many present day residents have Hudson Bay Co employees and Native American ancestors (I am one of them). It's nice you brought up the Norwegian Foss family one of my great grand aunts married one of the Foss boys.

Live just outside of town of Bucoda. Have never seen nothing crazy, nor heard nothing crazy, other than the siren that goes off as a curfew every night in town that can be heard for miles, but the residents of bucoda don't even talk about spooky stuff, other than for tourist revenue come October. Rest of the time there's no spooky nonsense lol

Great video! I was looking for the history of Western State Hospital, where my 3rd great grandmother died. I hadn’t found out where she was buried and now thanks to Grave Concerns I have found her! Nancy Huhn died 10 years after her husband, a Civil War Union Vet died. Thank you so much!

As a kid I probably rode most of the old fleet at one time or another. I rode the Chippewa, the San Mateo, and others, but never seemed to catch the Kalakala. It was always leaving the dock just as the family pulled up to the dock, wherever that was at the time. Thank for putting up the interior shots. As a native northwesterner, I appreciate this presentation.

The Kalakala looked fast, but was slow. As I remember had a top speed of about 18 knots. The steamship company wanted to draw riders from other steamship companies and replace its' own steamship. On its' maiden Seattle to Bremerton run, staged a race between the Kalakala and Tacoma, a steam passenger ferry, known as the fastest single screw steamship. The Tacoma's captain was ordered to loose the race so the Tacoma idled along behind the Kalakala. But on the return trip, the Tacoma's captain ordered full speed and set the record that I believe still stands for the Bremerton-Seattle route. The Kalakala was rebuilt to impress uninformed, superficial people. The Tacoma was scrapped about 1936, too bad.
