I’m troubled by the use of the term ‘lost generation’ and how many people latch onto this as though it is a thinker’s shibboleth. I don’t think that that generation was lost at all. The war was just a short pause. The post Vietnam generation was more lost, but resentful, too. And now, due to the waste of the afghan war and Trump’s divisive lunacy, we are probably in a Suspicious Generation. If you are a thinker, instead of just a regurgitator, you do really need to think of something beyond ‘lost generation’.

Great read. I particularly enjoyed the way Scotty leaves the reader with the ability to assign motivations to his characters unexplained actions. Example, “Grampy’s” man “Shuttleworths” attempt to defraud Anthony of his inheritance. It only becomes confirmed at the end with his guilty suicide.

Great review! I havn't read to kill a mockingbird yet but after watching this I will! It's definitely an important book to be read at the moment. I love your Fitzgerald reviews too by the way, I would love to hear your thoughts on Gatsby as well. I know these kinds of classics have been reviewed to death but they can be very over analysed a lot of the time which clouds the way people read and review it, the most skilful writing isn't always the most entertaining to read, so it's nice to hear these books talked about in a non academic way. It would be cool to hear what you thought of the writing style and story in Gatsby because it's so famous - do you think it's over rated or deserves the acclaim? Do you like his descriptive writing? A lot of people have said Fitzgerald's books are boring :( If you made a review of Gatsby that would be sooo awesome to accompany your other Fitzgerald reviews and see how you stack up the lesser known ones with his famous one, just a suggestion though. Anyway I subscribed, hope you do more book reviews :)

I only need like a little bit, like a pea sized amount, rub it in between my hands for a few seconds then put it in my hair and I have great results. But if u take it straight to your hair and don’t rub it between your hands first to disperse it a little I can see why u did not have as good for results.

I found it deeply relatable even though the characters seemed beyond realistic I think they represent a stage in life where we are confused where we are over the top and in an extreme state of mind when we are so engrossed in one emotion or concept or mindset that it shapes and shadows reality.I feel like he built the story around the characters instead of making the characters fit into the story. the way the book is narrated the settings as well i think reflected the characters so well to the point where they weren't absurd to the point where I was finding myself understanding each and every character no matter how ridiculous a point they were making or belief they held
