There are pastors who are RIDING JOHN 3:16 ALL THE WAY TO HELL!! Jesus said to repent! This is why the unpardonable is the unpardonable, because you can't repent from that. Do you not understand? All others you can repent from, except that one. Matthew 12:32 don't speak against his works!

I think what Billy Graham done with establishing a relationship with our Nation's leadership was only a natural thing to do. It was right and it was of value. No time spent with our leaders in the name of God Almighty would I ever consider to have been spent in vain.

Thank you for this. It is in our church but more subtly which seems in some ways even more sinister as they promote this but use different words to describe it and then use this as evidence that it is not what it actually is.

Thank you for your question. We hold to a baptistic theology and believe the Bible is the final authority concerning faith and practice. We do not fit within any of the popular definitions of what it means to be Orthodox, Catholic, or Protestant historically or theologically. We recommend our Church History playlist for more information on this topic: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dWFl0ZuapM7YYrA.html Thank you for listening! God bless.

The scripture is authoritative only because it is God's revelation to man. One's own interpretation of it is not authoritative. This is why we have denominations. No denomination agree on everything because they believe their interpretation is correct. God's interpretation is the only correct one. We have to humbly walk and tread carefully when speaking on His behalf of what it is that He meant in scripture. Most things are plain, while others are not.

Richard rohr is an absolute heretic. Everything and everyone is Christ but his Christ is not the Christ of The Holy Bible. People need to read what these people actually say not just the convenient snatches from their books that sound so biblical but leaving out the rest that is eastern/Roman Catholic teachings from medieval period. We are being told evangelism has been all about cheap grace and hasn’t done any lasting good for The Gospel. However as a young person of 19 with no Christian background background for generations and a very dysfunctional home I came to know The Lord and God’s wonderful salvation through a humble evangelical church. The people were mostly working class, most left school at 15 but there were so godly and real in their walk with God, their devotion to The Lord Jesus, their love for each other and for those in their community. Was it a perfect church NO. However they were pressing on looking on to Christ Jesus their Rock. Now 50 years later I have been in many such churches, some with much more educated, highly professional people, some small and some large but is all of these, which were evangelical, I found that mainly at least 80% were true godly people making a difference for good both inside and outside the church building. Are there evangelical churches I wouldn’t want t attend. Sadly yes. Just to finish my mother , a sister and her husband and three friends all became Christians in the same church where I got saved. Much later I had the wonderful joy of leading my 89 year old father to The Lord. He went to be with The Lord 5 months later. Thank God for leading me to that humble little evangelical church full of The Redeemed of The Lord.

What a great podcast. I’ve known Jim Alter for nearly 30 years, and it is ALWAYS a blessing to have him pour out his knowledge in a way that moves you to live more for Christ. Our church in Northern Ireland was blessed by Jim and his wife this past week as he held a mini-conference on Bible history for our members which was soooooo good! The Baptist men of history should definitely embolden you to “be ye holy, for I am holy.” Thank you Postcript, and thank you Jim Alter.

Thank you for this. I live in the UK and a church I almost moved to did a so called "bible study" on contemplative prayer 24/7 by Pete Greig from Emmaus Road Church. After much prayer God has given me the gift of discernment and has protected me from deception. Why do some Christians who have a knowledge of the Truth fail to recognise a cloud without water when they see one?

I’m my opinion (as much as that matters) and a few scholars that I have listened to agree on is the one way to understand the bible is to read it in it’s context. The biblical context, the cultural context, the audience, the author, all of these things are crucial to understanding how and why was the books written and not only that each book is unique in its writing styles and it’s important to note that because some books are not to be read like a science textbook

This way of thinking hinders the fullness Grace and makes it a partiality for some and not others.
