The two step performance DP has been on back order. I’ve been waiting since march. Just a heads up if you’re looking to get that one
Thanks for the heads up!
where can i download the manual? bought a set from japan, and yeaaaapp the manual in Japanese
Dm me you email on Instagram and I will send it to you.
@@phothrottle done!! Thank you mate!!!
Do you even smoke man? 😆 ✌️ ☮️
2:17 2:17 2:17 🤭
Does Japan make a catted down pipe?
No I was told they don't produce catless or catted anymore.
@@phothrottle dang. thanks for the followup. i was hoping to stay full jdm too
I’m the same way with my FL5 build. All my past cars were built to get the most out of power. With my FL5, I’m doing an inspired JDM build. Never done one yet, and I’m excited to see how this one comes out. Just picked wedssport TC105x with Bridgestone potenzas.
you should be hitting 60 in 2nd! Rev that thing! :)
I'm gonna keep trying. I will update you guys when I do hahaha
@@phothrottle I have a Dragy but haven't run the FL5 yet. Still breakin' her in :)
Hey fyi, rv6 isnt making catless dp anymore. Not sure about prl.
Thanks for the info! I was leaning more towards catted because of the smell. I believe PRL has catless dp it's just not listed on their website. You would have to call them directly to purchase one.
Hey did you have to remove your stock ecu and send it for jailbreak or how you got it done if you dont mind me asking I want to do the same setup you have
Yes you will have to remove and send it in to hondata or if you live in an area that has hondata jailbreak days. You can just drive your car there and they can do it on the spot.
Or....you can keep looking at the hondata ECU unlocking events. They travel around to different major cities n unlocks peoples ECU.
@@phothrottleyep did mine in SD🥴
Love the quality of your build man, love that mindset instead of just throwing parts at it.
Slowly waiting for parts to come in. Good thing I'm patient haha 😄
The stock intake is great man don’t change it now and just wait
Thinking of doing a Spoon Sports hi flow drop in filter for the mean time.
@@phothrottlethat’s what I did. I’m waiting to see when spoon release their intake. It’s only one I want
As a mechanic, he is right about the yellow dot and typically lining it up with the valve but, if you use a road force balancer, you will find sometimes you need to rotate the tire on the rim to a different spot to get the best balance. Also those wheels are 🔥🔥🔥 They look so good!
I took out my PLR rear motor mount out because of the vibration . Had it on for a few months.
I did consider PRL too but it was only offered in one stiffness level. That's why I opted for Hasport.
I got 5.9 on my 3rd try . Keep practicing fwd are hard to launch off the line.
I will definitely practice the launch more to get better numbers. Thanks
What about launching it with Hondata traction control? Would that improve 0 to 60?
Not sure but I should give it a try.
lol @ 5:34 the cough, the pause. Also was your traction on?
Now that you mentioned it I didn't turn off the traction control. Also I should have did a pull with Race 2 map. It is supposed to have little to no traction control.
What is the size of the hose that you used for draining the antifreeze from the petcock
The tube I used for the drainage is 7/16
Thank you
🚀🚀🚀🚀🥵
Was that S2000 charging via cig? The bigger circle wasn’t flashing
Weight of these?
Not sure but this is what I have found online OEM aluminum weight: 230g Spoon sports 61 grams No information on the OEM Red
@@phothrottle thanks for the research!
Ty for your videos, you’ve helped me with the suspension install as well as this one for the rear motor mount. A rubber mallet came in handy when putting in the RMM.
installed on my type S, can confirm they fit
Thanks for the confirmation 👍
which engine is in the rx7?
My friend's RX7 motor is a 3 rotor 20B engine.
@@phothrottle it's a non turbo 3 rotor? Engine bay is so clean !!
@billylam2448 yup none turbo 3 rotor. Yeah custom shaved engine bay very clean.
Is removing the end link and the other side of the sway bar the “secret” to keeping the axel from slipping out? I’ve seen people run into the axel coming out and having to replace the seal but haven’t seen a video where the remove both of the items mentioned. Video Min. 4:39
Yes that is the way we didn't it and we had no issues. Of course you would use caution and always keep an eye in the seal. It's a petty straight forward install.
That last advan with that rich bronze is my pick.
You and I have great taste 👍
@@phothrottle they’d probably look killer on my DE5 😎
I have seen them on the DE5! They look phenomenal my friend.
Car brothers from another mother! My white 2023 Mazda 3 Turbo is also running RSR coilovers and Spoon rigid collars. I found your RSR coiler adjustment video helpful to adjust my own coilovers. I'm the first 4th gen Mazda 3 outside of Japan to run either of those 2 mods, and I helped introduce the rigid collars to the North American Mazda 3 community. The collars on their own do make a huge difference on the Mz3. The ride is more supple and dampens out the rear torsion beam, but makes the car feel a tighter in steering and handling. Super popular mod on our cars now. I think the more mass market a car is, the bigger the difference these collars make. A Type R with smaller tolerances and stiffer bushings from the factory will probably have a lesser effect.
RS-R Coilovers and rigid collars 👌

2:47 pull those brackets, lightly sand, then spray a few coats of rustoleam
asian squat is on point
Haha everyday brother. 🤣 I almost passed out when I stood up after installing the collars.
These are good to have. If you put sticky tires on and track drive the car aggressively the extra load can sometimes shift the subframe slightly messing up the alignment.
Thanks for the advice.
Awesome videos, love all your contents
Great video! This is the type of video I love. In depth for noob like me. I've watched your GT-R videos multiple times. They were extremely helpful when I installed my parts.
Thanks it is nice to hear my vlogs are helping other honda enthusiasts!
Good morning bro 👊 from Malaysia
👋👋
Thanks so much. This detail is definitely needed. Even smaller jobs I’ve found videos that leave detail out. What is your favourite mod so far? I’ve found the ITS ADS module swap has had the most profound impact for me.
Hondata with thre pherable tune 👌 Massive difference from stock.
Neither of those spoon knobs are the new shapes, if shape still dope tho 🎉
Great video..thanks..
Love your work. Have these on order. Great video!
They are pretty straightforward to install. Take all the wheels off it is much easier to see if the collars are seated properly.
Great videos! Always a good watch. Thank you. I am curious, though, what kind of window rain guards you have on the FL5. They look nice from inside your vehicle. And I've been wanting to get some but not the cheap ones from Amazon, lol.
Mugen
wait, is r35 gone? :( ?
No it's at home. Just spending time with the Civic.
@@phothrottle awesssssssome ;)
I’m Canadian 🍁 eh 😜 med DD hehe where in Ontario are you from…you can probably use the COW method Cup of Water 😅😅😅 your gopro by itself didn’t really translate the difference So for next time. That’s what I would’ve done 😅😅😅 ( compared it to the Integra type S dampener )
Almost 15k, keep the vlogs coming! Looking forward to your Hondata thoughts and dyno
Is it safe to lower the car on this wheel setup? I plan on doing the eibach sportlines for the fl5. Thank you 🙏🏼
Yes it is perfectly safe to do lowering springs on this setup. I'm on RS-R coilovers currently and they are much lower than lowering springs. I don't have any rubbing issues.
@@phothrottle Great to know, thank you very much!
Is this the same way I can tune a Civic Si?
Yes it would be the same.
@@phothrottlethank you. I just did mines. This video helped.
Pro tip use manual focus on your camera
Thanks!
Hows the wing holding up? It looks like you didnt drill for thr 3rd hole. I didnt either I just put 3m double sided tape on mine.
The wing is doing great no issues.
Dude u need a spoon rear wing.
Yes both wing and front lip
Love my retro NO FAT CHROME WHEELs shirt. Gotta pull it out and we can match
Man I love that shirt. So lucky Wendy had one at the show.
Great vlogs, love the FL5! Super clean and great upgrades. Looking forward to seeing the driving video to see how it handles!
I really want those ce28s for my CW 21 CTR. 🥰
Yeah they are pretty nice.
Great tutorial mate,
