My #eDrive KZread channel on electric transportation, specifically cars.
I am absolutely thrilled with the electrical transportation.
In this channel you will find my introduction, some tech videos, reviews, my road trips, my tests and other information about Electro Mobility (E-Mobility).
eDrive will be the future.
May 17th, 2018 I bought my Renault Zoe Q90 Intense. The type Q90 comes with big 41 kWh battery pack and max 43 kW quick charging engine for quick charging the battery.
*In first 12 month I drove 51.000 km with that car.*

Bakuta ko ang nanay ko😳
Hello - thank you for a great video. I installed the tow bar yesterday and will be doing the electronics install one of the evenings or next weekend. I have two questions for you: a) How long did the electronics install take? b) Were there any particularly difficult things to be aware of with the wiring and connections? Or is it just a matter of following the instructions step by step?
Geht es weiter?
Vielen Dank…… 🙏
I have a 22kWh Zoe with almost 68k km, and the battery health is 97-98%. Seems that knowing and applying battery health preserving tricks work :)
What’s the difference between Electric Failure (DANGER!) and Check Electric System? Why is only one of them Danger?!
personally i really like the space ship that the zoe do,(i have the 2018 r110 limited 40), think that sound its only from 1 to 30 km/h...and a part of safe for people, they will turn the head to see what kind of vehicle its making that noise, even today is strange to see an electric car 😆😁
Well,I bought the electric car, because I like silent driving. Any better gasoline car is even much more silent than the sound generator of the Zoe. A high class Mercedes S-class, or Rolls Royce are very silent, you can't hear them when driving slow. For the gasoline cars, they spend a huge amount of money to make them silent and with the electric cars, they need to spend money to make it loud? So if a silent Rolls Royce car bump on you, that's fine, but if a silent electric car bump on you, that's a problem? I can't get the point... By the way, if I know they can't hear me, I drive like they can't hear me...
@@eDriver anyway i like your invention, its interesting for those people who likes the gasoline sound and the clean and cheap electricity to travel. Very nice work!!
Hi , what does this do differently to just removing the fuse , what does the orange box actually do please ?? Thanks!
Love your videos. Beautiful Asian wife. HKG has been my second home!
Many thanks for sharing……
To find the real charging speed use: kWh/time*60 example if you got 15 kWh on 40 minutes is the formel 15/40*60 what is 22,5 kW. If you got example 44 kWh by 2 hours and 32 minutes is the formel you need to do first is 2 hours is 120 minutes and you add 32 minutes then 152 minutes. Formel is like this 44/152*60 = 17,36 kW as average charging speed. Charging loss depend on cable, Volt and A, Temperature. On ordinary fast chargers for car with CHAdeMO and CCS is it around 10% charging loss.
Thank you for this excellent video in English. I have an exactly the same specs Zoe, but I charge 99% at home and I so far never had to use the 40kW charge rate.
hello , i have a zoe ev 50, in my company i have 2 types of charging 11kw 16 amp and 7.2kw 32 amp, which one is better for battery degradation?
It is the same. Main reason for degradation is letting it drain below 10% and letting it sit at 100%
What was the total cost of your charging? Thanks
Manual and automatic electro petrol cars
Yes it happened to me.. I was doing the same same thing.. But now it comes more often.. I am looking for fixing this problem its very annoying
I have a Zoe Q90 65000 with 88% health with only 500 slow charges and 1 fact charging. I dont understand how can it be possible =( Have you done a BMS upgrade?
Your Philipina wife is powerful to make you drive so long distance for a fast food....
You should not say that a Clio hitch fits a Zoe. Because it doesn't. Have you tried mounting a clio hitch?
I Fitted a Clio hitch to my Zoe, Works Fine !
@@ronbyrne1794 do you have a part number for this hitch? And a picture of it mounted? Because i tried to fit the clio hitch. However it did not work.
@@ronbyrne1794 Wich model? I am looking to buy one for my Zoe now
You can set the Tom Tom Sat Nave to avoid motorways.
yes,... Motorways, in Germany are called "Autobahn", but the Roads on the Video are no "Autobahn", it's 4 line "Bundesstrasse", (federal road). By street law it's the same, rules like "Motorways", but in the navigation it's not counted as a motorway. Well, Renault just makes hard life for cusomers ;-)
Thanks..
When car stops you can turn it off, then turn it on in 2-5 minutes and it can run a little bit.
Where dose that blue plug go? The big 1 you have when working with the green cable.
What are the clip cable connections called? What gauge cable did you use.
At this point, it happened to me once, near the end of a full 22 kW charge. Didn’t have any problems to drive away though. The fans started blowing heavily a few minutes before, so I guess it has something to do with thermal protection
Is there a way to reduce the flashing sound?
Thanks good video
İs it nice to drive?
Well, it's not a high class car. Everything hard plastic, no soft touch, And not sound isolation in the doors, or somewhere else. And the shock absorbers are not great, just like a wiggly swing ;-) Zoe is a low budget electric car ;-) What I still love about that car, is the 43 kW AC charging possibility When driving long distance; i try to charge only 43 kW, so it's not that long time to wait, like 22 or 11 kW charging stations. If I have the choice again today, I will not buy a Zoe anymore. But that time 2018, I guess, it was the best choice.
Hi Alex, What app are you using to obtain the battery charging data? Thanks, David
Hi David, it's the CanZE app canze.fisch.lu/
Please do one for the new Dacia Spring! The pedestrian warning sound is really loud inside the car
Hi. I have the same fault on my Renault Fluence Z.E , so can you specify how they fixed your problem? If not, can you write a note which garage that is? Maybe phone number? Thx
They should make them fast charging. It is 2021 now god dammit!!
Can you tell me how to do the electronics got the Clio hitch mounted but cant find info how to do the lights
Well, you need that special AFC module, then it looks like this www.megane-board.de/attachments/ahk-jpg.7881/
Did you get this all worked out? Was it straight forward fitting a clio 4 tow bar to the zoe?
@@growanewsystem4141 I am wondering the same, just bought a Zoe and need the tow hook. @edriver
Hi is it app work at obdlink LX bluetooth dongle? i have one.
@@eDriver Danke👍
I have tried it with two different obd scanner, not with konnwei and they would not work. Do you think there's a problem with car plug or scanners?
Isn‘t that sound mandatory in Germany?
Great video, thank you for sharing. Could you please tell me Is it the Canze app you are using to see state of charge? I am planning to go from the UK to Hungary in August. Also anyone know how can I get a Z.E pass in the UK, I don't seem to find any info on it...
Yes I am using the CanZE app. That's most important gadget to see the state of charge and not some estimated kilometres I don't know if Z.E. pass still exists. Best for traveling around Europe is EnBW. One price on all chargers all over Europe play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.enbw.ev&hl=en_US&gl=US Maybe you can always find a more cheap one from a local provider, but EnBW works just everywhere.
@@eDriverThank you for your reply. ENBW is not available to download in the UK. Perhaps I can do it in France... I ordered Ivizia and Newmotion. Someone suggested Chargemap pass, is it worth getting as well do you think?
Mal gucken was dabei raus kommt. ;-)
Hi, hope you are well. Are you still towing with your Zoe? Ever considered doing some consumption stats normal driving vs towing?
Hi, yes I am still using the trailer and towing with Zoe. I am planing to do a video about the consumption, But it's different, if the trailer is loaded or empty. I am allowed to drive with that trailer 100 km/h on the German Autobahn. Including tolerance I set the cruise control always to 110 km/h with the trailer. But I can tell you, than it's sucking energy... If I charge to 80% I can not drive 180 km distance anymore.
@@eDriver Looking forward to that. Yes I can imagine very different consumption with just car vs empty trailer vs loaded trailer. You could also consider perhaps difference between 90km/h vs 110km/h with the trailer. I have found I can easily get 30% range increase by driving 90km/h with Zoe. Over here most roads are limited to 80km/h anyway.
Thanks for the tip to open the cover using a plastic card!
Do you know the shown available charge whit the battery at 94%?
I love what KZread's automatic subtitles did here, it said Renault Assistance will send you "a cow to pull me to the charging station" 😂
he he
i ordered a cloe trailer hitch soon we wil see if your right
Let's see... ;-)
Does the battery heat up much when you are when you are 22 ac charging?
Well, it's heating up, but with 43 kW quicker.
Could you do battety heat compression test between 42 ac 22 ac on a Hot summer day ?
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this awesome idea!
you are welcome.. I really hate that wobbling driving sound. I bought an electric car, to have silent driving not to create extra noise.
Great work Alex.. Congratulations .. although I would love to have this sorted out and turn the sound button to be silent on default, I would not try this. Electrical circuits in modern cars are very accurate due to on board computers. In this case, it would be even more complicated in an electric car. See I have a Zoe 2018 and sometimes, even with changing a W5W bulb, the car requests key in as it detected a change in electrical circuits. So I really admire the work, but I would definitely look for a better solution via programing rather than this.
Well, I have the same 2018 model. The Renault Zoe is not a modern high-tech electric car, like a Tesla, where you can do everything via software. I am pretty sure, you can't do this via programming. But if you will find a solution, let me know..
very cool))) thank you
