Still working? I’m looking into this.
How is it still?
Hello, do you remember how long you had it bottled before you tried it? Thanks.
Normally for hoppy beers i drink fairly fresh. But testing a bottle a week after at least two weeks is a good rule.
Best one Ive done ,it is cloudy though, mega drink
Just a random question. I have an induction hob, and the lowest temperature it goes is 60°C, the next step up is 70°C, so i found it hard to get a steady temperature of 65 when mashing, and ended up with two failed batches. That was one extract brew, and an all-grain brew. Does the buffalo go to lower than 60°C temperatures and a steady 65°C?
If i am honest i cant recall its so long ago.Is the mashing pot insulated as often most well insulated pots loose very little over a 60 min mash
We just picked up a case of Belgian cork bottles and we are wondering if these belgian corks keep Co2 in the bottles? Can i make/store carbonated cider in this style of bottle? If yes, how long will the drink stay carbonated? Thanks, David
certainly these are all old leffe style bottles. It will keep the c02 as long as the seal remains. For how long you can keep somethings thats normally based on the abv.
Will this be OK in a pressure barrel? Will I need to keep it topped up with co2? At what amount thanks
Yes can be used in a pressure barrel.Theres definitive answer. You will likely need to top up as c02 decreases with pints drawn.
No priming sugar in this kit??
Had a couple in Wspoons last week. Great taste. Knocks your socks off!
Coming back to this 8yrs later…just to hear you say “Corker!” No seriously…great guide, I needed to relearn and I remembered this one from back in the day 👍🏻🍾
Lol
mr porky is life i eat it every day the small packs. I wish they were less salty or slight salt in multipacks
how do I do pop corn on it
I miss the EBC color values for malts.
Tried them sober = disgusting 🤢. Tried them drunk = amazing 😍.
Don't know why
The Young's can kit is really good with dme
Agree with you on bottles, i can get 1 litre bottles of pop for about 40p and they are plenty strong enough to use. I've just returned to brewing after 30 yrs off and my first kit is a razorback ipa, fingers crossed time. Nice, no nonsense video btw.
How to work it
So nowhere near the 12-20 ebc then?
This range just became available online in the US. I bought the Munton's Hazy first, mainly for the wife. She loves the hazy stuff! I'm sure I'll enjoy too. But I have my eye on this West Coast next. Great way to shorten the brew day and produce a fantastic beer yes?! I've always enjoyed your channel.👍😎Cheers! 🍻🍺
Do you have marketing network in India?
Great review 👍 where did you purchase it from? I looked on their website but couldn't find an option to buy it
3:12 I wouldn't do that mate. Air is a good insulator. You want the bottom of the kettle flush absolutely with the induction surface for max efficiency, so that rules out having something holding the weight of the kettle unless you can precision do it to like the thousands of an inch. When they make those commercial 3000 watt + kitchen induction stoves they know it very likely could be heating tons of liquid.
Dude! Awesome to see you on KZread again. Look forward to some brewing vids. Hope all is well.
Dude blast from the past i hope you are well also.
Can I ask where you're from mate? Your accent is interesting. Regrading PIDs with a hob like that it's tricky you'd need to create something that can interface with it to control the power. If you wanted to PID it, I'd actually go steam punk a bit and create an actuator that moves the control dial on the hob itself. Better isolation.
Haha Uk all my life. But have had people day that before.
Cheers bro, gonna bottle my Chimay clone!
The festival kits have the siphon filter sock in. Made the hazy zesty kit it was fantastic
Have you tried adding fresh grapefruit to the brew to enhance the flavour?
Hindi demo dekho
I have this oven for 3 years. Now it is plugged on OK and it won't start to heat when I press the +30sec Start button. I tried even with pressing directly the button on the board. Checked the fuses, cables, thermo safety and the two switches triggered by the door lock. I cannot find the problem...
Same problem, did you found solution?
@@priitaaspalu3067 I gave it to Beko service in Timișoara . Guess what? They didn't find the problem and they replaced the complete electronic board. Now it is solved. :))))
Agree on many points you make here mate
Good to see you again mate. Three for a fiver! That's a good deal. Nice looking beer you were drinking and one to warm you up sounds just the ticket. Cheers
Good to see you back. Old Jock is brewed by the Broughton Brewery & you're right it's a cracking beer (quite a common sight up here) Had a couple of bottles of Wee Jock the other night which is also a good....
Nice to see you back matey
Cheers as rusty as my brewkit now.
Good to see you back again which I think was my comment on the last one some time ago 😂 Hope you are doing well mate. Be nice to see a summer BM brew👍
Haha i cheers i hope its not rusty
Thanks for the review! Did you swap out the yeast that came with the kit? If not, do you know if it would make much of a difference, since you remarked that tastewise there was not a lot going on? I have just brewed this myself, and I can’t wait to try it. I did not splash it around to increase the oxygen content prior to fermentation. Hopefully it will turn out ok. It would be great if you would do more munton reviews, perhaps touching in on the differences in taste betwean the premium, gold and connoisseur range products. I mean, there are lager variants in all of these, how big of a difference can there be?
Hi i dont recall changing the yeast on this. I dont really ever do that on a first brew of a kit and theres not many i have brewed twice. Yeast will always have a impact on any beer if you swap out. That said most kits come with a fairly good one and enough to ferment it well. You will be ok with the oyxgen its always advisable but as long as you had the ferment start it will carry itself through as long as you keep stable temps. Some of the kits vary and certainly the two can kits are always better and more rounded. This by no means a bad beer and dont forget tastes is perceptive you may enjoy it more than the next person would.
How can we simply heat a meal?
Thanks for the video. I've never used a capper before and am wondering how do you set the initial height? I'm worried I'll break a few bottles if I position the capper too low. Or does the spring prevent breakage?
Well thats a great question trial a error if bottles are all varying heights i try to use only one type of bottle. You want the capper seated just above so it presses onto the bottle to fold the cap down. But i dont think to date ive ever cracked a bottle .Then i mark a line on the capper on pen for certain bottles meaning its also easy to readjust.
I notice the amount of malt extract used is double that of the usual Cooper's kits. Do you know the reason for that? Is that typical for saisons? I had a lot of trouble getting all dissolved - the gloop just sat in the bottom of the fermenter!
It would be to bump up the abv of the beer more malt more sugar more sugar more alcohol. That said most saisons and even older ones were not always big abv beers. They were more sessionable drunk by farmhands in payment for work so 7% seem odd when kit makers do this. Perhaps that was their Christmas beer and somewhere the history got blurred about what was consumed daily.
Cheers
Just tried this one right now, very hard to taste the coriander and orange peel, but you can definitely taste the difference in the Icelandic water they use, its insanely smooth and very refreshing, I do not mind the hefty price tag but it is quality!
One of my favorite kits. I add around 1,5kg - 2kg spray malt to make it a bit stronger and maltier.
How much priming sugar did you use ? Great video thanks
I now you half a teaspoon of demerara sugar and so far have not bottle bombs per 500ml bottle.I used to batch prime but had mixed results.Of course make sure the beer is fully fermented out.
ты русский забыл?))
I've mostly been brewing from grain lately, but im gonna give the flagship range a go I think
This is very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Always enjoy your reviews. You were bang on with the Cwytch, so Ill be buying one of these today :-)
I started my homebrewing journey with Muntons kits - always been excellent. Don't really use kits anymore but will definitely look out for the milk stout!
Yeah i have to get one i cant recall a milk stout kit before.
@@beerloverTVThe only one I think that might be similar is St Peter's Cream Stout....
Good porter, but where is the marmalade from the name? It's a pity because it could be a unique porter. Cheers!
