  rods are loaded which means tension put on release just short of tripping the release--i have the same walker electric down riggers and usually troll around 100 ft for lakers--usually rods will flip up before slack is taken up

  Just the first thing I tried to replace to fix the problem with this cheap duramax I bought it wouldn’t go into gear or shift properly the solution was fixing a corroded wire in the wiring harness

  Yeah I’m stuck in range mode and have replaced everything associated with it I’m trying to relearn the tranny but not having luck, I’m thinking the valve body could be stuck

  @@Rudechoppers it’s probably a corroded wire the plastic over the harness has to be taken off and all the wires checked it under the drivers side are goes form the tranny to the engine area

  In the connectors them selves? I’ve sprayed them down with contact cleaner and put dielectric grease in everything

  @@Rudechoppers no the wiring harness not the connectors, the wires rub together and one small spot can cause all these problems

  That is where the tumbler locking mechanism is. I just had to drill mine out. A broken spring came out of it. I assume that spring was necessary to the hole operation.

  As long as the boat moves faster than water coming in and you don’t stop or go in reverse, you can run all day without a plug. Use to do this all the time to get blood out from fishing in the gulf.
