    200mm wheels on 47T? Evolve doesn't even recommend 47T on 175mm. Only for 150mm. How'd ya go on that gearing? Do yo actually have that exact gearing on the actual board? Motors get hot at all?

    I just got the Evolve GTR Bamboo (AT) and no regrets! If the carbon could have the same flex then would go for that no doubt, the battery inside is so streamline, it is one of the most beautiful out there. Might save up for the Onsra for purely speed haha will see.

    Thanks for giving us all this information. I’ve been a skateboarder for most of my life but never written an electric skateboard and I just want to ride off-road. Not interested in carving, just interested in all-terrain. Is the carbon the better option. Keep in mind I’m not a speed freak because I wanna stay upright but I want to take it on rough surfaces. Which is best carbon or bamboo? Thanks

    Riptide r1x was buy far a way better deal.14 mile range same style board.I almost think evolve ripped them off.And the r1x was only 800 bucks and came with abec wheels and shred lights when I purchased mine.To bad there sold out now and think there going out of business. I do own the carbon gtr and is a great board other then a motor failing after 100 miles.

    I had Carbon GT, GTX, and NOW GTR. GTR is slow to accelerate. it does not have a feel of that instant power that takes you up to speed in a second like GTX had. GTR also has a softer brake than GTX. GTR does not have a SAG BUT I get max speed 21mph the first 10 minutes of the ride until the battery reaches 75%. At 75% the max speed drops to 19mph max. At about 65% of battery the max speed drops to 18mph. In order to turn on Custom mode in GTR you need your smartphone with GPS (i dont know why it requires GPS but without gps you cant turn the custom mode) It seems you need to use the app every time you power the board ON and want to use CUSTOM mode so it SUCKS! I dont think GTR is an upgrade. Evolve had problems which they substitute for another problems. I think Carbon GT or GTX with upgraded 18650 battery is much better buy .

    Don't but from Evolve!!! Battery issues Opinion on Evolve's GTR choice of Samsung 35E. 1. GTR output claims: a. 20A consistent. b. 52A for 10 seconds burst. 2. Four parallel (4P) array of 35E at 25C/77F: a. 32A continuous discharge b. 60A maximum burst discharge 3. In a perfect environment, this fall within manufacture specifications. Esk8 is a harsh environment for electronics. 4. Note: a. Continuously pushing cells near recommended limits results in 60% capacity at 500 cycles. b. External temperatures in summer will rest higher then 25C, enclosed environment will not allow heat to dissipate as temperatures rise, increasing degradation. 5. Alternatives: a. High confidence that Evolve tested in relation to the Samsung 30Q. b. 35E sags an average of 0.1v more than the 30Q at 8A over a cycle period. In a 10 series (10S) configuration, that's 1v of ~36V. c. 35E contains ~14% more capacity than the 30Q. d. At 8A continuous; the 35E loses 8% cycle capacity, 30Q loses 1.7% ... resulting in a 8.4% difference in capacity. e. This is until 2.65V, however Evolve software cuts off power at 3V. In lab tests will be needed to compare capacity at a 3V cutoff, however I'm confident that this will bring margains even closer between the 35E and 30Q. *5b. Adds further concern. f. Over continuous cycle use, 35E will experience higher levels of degradation than the 30Q. 6. Conclusion: Evolve continues to design on manufacture datasheet limits. The choice of 35E was not wise due to the largest concern of degradation for; aggressive riders, AT off-road, hill areas, drag races. Minor concern for minor decrease in acceleration and top speed. 7. I will obtain a 35E for 3V cutoff in lab testing within the coming weeks. Rebuttals highly welcome!

    This is a great review! I would prefer some more actual footage of climbs, how the boards carve around tight obstacles and at speed. Can they cope with sand? I think the stoke is an ideal board for me but I am looking at evolve stoke, slickrevolution urban kick or a carver/mellowdrive. However I can't try them so I have loads of questions. Also what I want to know for this comparison is - I want a board that acts like a surfskate/carver. I don't think the Urban kick fits this bill is that the case? - I would prefer a silent drive like the mellow, do the other belt drives whirr really loud? Can you show this on a video? - Im a UK rider so obviously I will ask about bad roads, wet conditions, muddy puddles etc? The mellow is quite waterproof, what is the stoke & kick like? Can the stoke roll over stones etc? - How hard is the battery to swap? Mellow is easy, what about the stoke? - I live by the coast with steep hills, The stoke looks a clear winner here. Can you show us what these boards actually look like doing this? Do they wheelspin? Do you crawl up the hill making you want to walk it instead?

    i'm considering all terrain, roads here (pittsburgh, pa) are so craggy and busted up, I've been longboarding, the 90mm wheels I ordered online are just barely big enough to get me from a-z with pretty regular hopping off and walking, unless somehow the board being powered increases stability dramatically, i really might have to go with an all terrain board. Does it feel/handle very different riding on wheels that big?

    Really not true about belts being better for braking...it's true sometimes and not others. The Meepo V3 has better/stronger brakes than an Evolve

  • @voltagefrogmatthias2375
    @voltagefrogmatthias23754 жыл бұрын

    Although I haven't tried the Meepo V3 myself, that's hardly possible. First, because it's a hub which has less torque and second because it has max. 2 X 540 Watts break power vs 2x 1500 Watts in the Stoke. (see motor tech specs.) Let me know if you have other evidence, I'm always curious :)

    Grüß dich! Sehr sehr geiles Video und gute Gegenüberstellung. Ich freu mich schon wie verrückt auf mein GTR! Da ich dir leider nirgendwo eine private Nachricht schreiben kann, versuche ich es über diesen Weg: Ich fahre seit etlichen Jahren das Bamboo Gen2 ausschließlich auf AT. Habe die Trucks sehr weich gestellt, um eng carven zu können und einen kleinen Wendekreis zu haben. Leider hab ich damit schon bei 20 km/h Geradeausfahrt ein leichtes Wackeln drinne und darüber hinaus ist es nicht wirklich möglich nur geradeaus zu fahren, für Stabilität bei höherem Speed muss ich carven. Für Wheelbite sind sie aber zum Glück noch nicht weich genug eingstellt. Du sagtest, dass du von Anfang gleich die Bushings getauscht hast, weil sei dir zu weich waren. Was empfielst du? Als professioneller Fahrer brauchst du ja beides, Wendigkeit und Stabilität. Die Bushings von orangen von Evolve sind 95a. Welche nutzt du? Danke dir und viele Grüße :)

    sorry für die süpäte Antwort. Ich benutze Venom bushings. Die Farbe ist indikativ für die stärke. Ich benutze rot und grün. Sehr wendig und stabil bei high speed. ggf. eliminator hinten benutzen wenn du immer noch speed wobbles bekommst. Kontakt via Instagram ist am besten.

    Evolve are an ok "mid tier" board. This GTR is simply what the GT range should have been. No extra torque or power on the new models, just extra weight. The LaCroix Nazaré being released next month will eat this GTR range of boards for breakfast.
