  Thank you for posting this video. I really like baremetalHW even though I’m not in the die cast cars hobby. I think I stumbled onto his fascinating channel while trying to learn how to restore Lego canopy pieces. His great presentation style and the exploration of a whole different world of toy repair and customs fascinated me. It’s certainly his right to quit or take a break, but I would like to know he’s still alive and his content is still appreciated.

  The part at 1:04 where you talk about having the all-in-one (complete series) DVD of Emergency!-- I have that too in that form, and it has been and still is a staple of my collection (my copy has the outside plastic worn and wavy, but that's because I've watched the show so much; I have seen it as much as I have because, IMO, it is the gold standard for both firefighting shows and medical dramas [the former because of the teamwork evident in the men of Station 51, led expertly by Capt. Hank Stanley; the latter because of the same thing exhibited very much in the medical personnel at fictional Rampart General Hospital: Drs. Kelly Brackett, Joe Early and Mike Morton, and Nurse Dixie McCall, as well as all the other doctors and nurses]).

  This one was scratch built from 1mm styrene and Aluminum. I robbed the gears from a cheap Life-Like loco and various wheels and other parts from Bachmann Thomas/Percy.

  While the current generation of Thomas Wooden Railway was a huge improvement over the disgrace known a Thomas Wood. Mattel should seriously offer more variety in terms of rolling stock, sets and buildings.

  It really is a shame. Quite enjoy Marty's Matchbox Makeovers too, and even his channel slowed down significantly around the whole COPPA ordeal. He was actually uploading 2-3 times a week. If I remember, it was mostly unboxing or tips videos on Tuesday and then restorations on Saturday. Really miss both him and Baremetal, however Marty has been around more often. Sadly it has now been over 3 years since BaremetalHW disappeared, and numerous people have made some interesting comments on this video and provided some info into his whereabouts these days.

  @@PlowBenderStudios Yeah, I love that ol' aussie winnie the pooh, I never really thought about the whole coppa thing. Dicast resto channels were my go to for unwinding so its a damned shame theyve mostly all went the way of the dodo. It was really nice to see Marty come back if even if its just a video here or there.

  Hey, uhh... Can you use cardboard to make Thomas wider? It always bothered me how thin he was, especially since he was next to Percy most of the times I ever saw him.

  I would never recommend cardboard for something such as this. I always use something like styrene for these kinds of projects as its proper modeling material.

  I just watched your collection and I gotta say, these are really nice models, I especially like how you did the railway series accuracy for Thomas, Toby, Percy, and the Scottish Twins, and I’m just wondering do you think there would possibly, a Duck and Oliver in railway series accurate great western liveries in future ?

  Duck is currently on the workbench and I'm waiting to find an Oliver to start on him. I'm looking into getting some actual GWR green to paint the models with, however the particular brand I want has to be imported and is a bit pricey. Only about $5 for the paint, but over $20 after shipping and customs...

  The scratch built scrap engine you refered to as "the dead engine" they also called him The Killdane Experiment made by 22 Tesla story. Which i have to ask, are you gonna make some of the scary stories that some thomas fans did? You know like "horror of the rails" "stories from the scrap sidding" and what not.

  I don't plan on making any videos like that, but in terms of customs though, I would like to make Dudley the vagrant engine both as he was when he came to Sodor, and then also as he was in Demons, as it was confirmed by TheBuriedTruck that he was indeed scrapped after The Fat Controller banished him from Sodor. I already know what to use as a basis, and got a pretty decent idea of how I want to build both customs. Just want to try and finish some other projects before starting another one.

  These are SO impressive, if I didn't already know what the range made and what it didn't, I genuinely wouldn't be able to tell what was real and what was custom. I dreamed of having so many of these as a kid, I can't tell you how much wonder this video inspires. Just extraordinary, you're a craftsman!

  A lot of times I will use rattle cans to paint my customs. I sometimes brush paint, but my biggest issue with that the chance of brush marks. Granted if you thin down the paint enough it makes it less likely to happen, but I still prefer spray painting because I think it gives a cleaner finish.
