from what it gives, its overprice, the art grows on you? it don't i hate it , i try to be quick pace at certain map but the art style making differentiate unit harder, the speed up is still slow, since the animation is also slow, once or twice showing the battle in such a way is fine, but repeatedly for hours isn't, also the AI is dumber, like its feel like prolonging the battle as much as it can

Nice review! I really enjoy my Crystal Pink Nitro Deck, I use it all the time for handheld mode. I only use Joy-con anymore for like, Switch Sports lol. I enjoy the Nitro Deck so much, I decided to get one of the new Neo S wireless controller from CRKD for when I do play docked mode occasionally. I’ve seen some pretty critical reviews of Nitro Deck, but I have zero regrets going with CRKD for real. I’ve seen some other Switch slide-in controllers, but I think they’re kinda ugly…

guys dont buy labyrinth of zangetsu i have bought it and it really sucks but i can recommend labyrinth of galleria / refrain thy are really good games
Zangetsu def has flaws, esp the rank up system but i think its unique enough that if its on sale its worth it
Have you tried Demon Gaze, and if you did, what did you think about it. It's a shame there is not a lot of games that are in this genre, this video alone almost covered all of them.
I miss when the genre wasn't focused on coomers tbh.
Ahhh the good ol' days of first person dungeon crawls on PC. miss those days for sure

No new game modes, worst looking and confusing units sprites, worst battle animations. And worst of all, no online?!! Come on, that was literally only thing needed to give hundreds of extra hours of content for many people. Stop liking suboptimal and rushed products
Just because it didn’t have what you were looking for doesn’t mean it didn’t work for me. Your opinion is valid just as much as mine is 🤷🏻♂️I really enjoyed it for what it was. As I said. I don’t play online so for me that’s not a deal Breaker and unlike most(I admit) I don’t mind the new look. It’s just more toy like.
I don’t get you. Outlast 1 is way better than the Amnesia series.

In Sound Mind is a really good one I played recently. Puzzles and monsters with a huge map
The only only things that can be considered better is the music/art they added speedup but even with it on its slower than the base games.

The reason stats on level up in Labyrinth of Zangetsu work like that is because it's from the long storied tradition of Wizardry V clones, of which there are enough that one could argue that they're a sort of sub-sub-genre.

It works, you lose some of the attachment but the system is fine IMO

What I said was I feel it’s unrealistic to think one wouldn’t defend themselves or at least try to with any weapon or weapon like object around and the idea that the only option is to hide under the bed is boring IMo

Sing the most hack and slash games get boring and repetitive, after a while tells me that you feel that way about Bayonetta and Devil May cry, and if you feel that way, I thoroughly disagree with you. But other wise, neat review.

Left out some good indie horror games. These are just the mainstream ones on every console.
I highly encourage you leaving suggestions for others! I tried to pick ones that are easily obtainable and have a lot of appeal. Sadly Indies , as great as they are, arent always peoples go to.
My only complaint is why do the girls have to kiss to get power? And why is it only girls that get roasted like this? Other than that, sounds like an interesting game. Could be goated.

Labyrinth of Zangetsu was a great game. I loved the music and the art style. Plus, it was fairly short (for a DRPG) but challenging. Also, I still don't understand how Operencia has not received a limited physical release.
Awesome list, loves this genre since I first played Etrian Odyssey on DS.
So glad you mentioned Evil Tonight. A surprise banger for me. Got it last year and ended up probably being one of my top games that year. Awesome soundtrack to boot.

Those "new see-through colors" you mentioned is actually the new version, CRKD Nitro Deck+. It comes with a WiiU Gamepad layout (same as Steam Deck).

This aged like rotten eggs. Game is a travesty, unfortunately. A disservice to the series. An insult to it’s memory and has been more harmful than good to the IP.
I do t think travesty is correct. It still has the first two games which are good, so it’s not a dumpster fire 🔥in the vain of something like The Day Before or Duke Nukem forever. But it def didn’t live up to its potential. But I still had a blast playing the campaign.
@@SwitchScheme It’s a difference of opinion, but objectively the game was a failure and ultimate harmed the series more than it could’ve helped. The art direction was terrible and a mockery of the original games, and the cutifying/over sexualization of certain characters was even worse. Ultimately if you enjoyed the campaign, you’d enjoy it much more playing it via the original games, because the only upside to this release was the soundtrack, and that’s like saying the best part of your dinner is the sauce, because you used it to cover up garbage. I don’t say any of this with malice. I say it with disappointment and heartbreak, because Advanced Wars was my series growing up, made so many maps and shared with my friends constantly. This rerelease was my hope that a wider range of fans would fall in love with it, and instead it was an abysmal mistake. It was like having my childhood pissed on.

I don’t believe #1 is on switch and I kept this list to switch only and it’s mostly for the kids. To a young kid a ghost is scary and for them it could classify it as horror; obviously for us older folk it’s a goofy but fun game with no scare factor.
It was genuinely my favorite game series for the game boy back when I first had it.
Best game for this style and genre, this was great but ultimately ended with pretty much no support from developer at this point and leaving recent dlc in the air and not delivered.. still the game is pretty good. I do however wish someone would deliver a mafia tycoon game like this and actually nail it, this game just wasn't as refined as it could have been.
