Hmm i was under the impression that the amp out is similar to a bypass with slight eq modification but this confirms it is not. So with this pedal you cannot have xlr going into DI front of house and an un affected tone going into your amp, am i right?
@charlesbassiste4 ай бұрын
No. No. The amp out has the whole sound except for the amp simulation. The XLR out has all the sound effect. This product is good overall mate, but I know there are different options out now... Depends what you're after... Do some research and think about what you need for sounds, XLR, Jack, effects loop etc ... Personally, I've found my dream sound with the caveman compact bass preamp. Much cleaner and dynamic than the origin effects!
@Ic_Ciantar4 ай бұрын
@@charlesbassiste ahaa that makes sense. I was only afraid of it because i have a valve amp which i sometimes use in conjunction with the di and did not want to stack this on top but that makes it a good option. Thanks

Great demo! I experience some hiss from the amp out- I don't hear any in your demonstration. Can you offer any advice on how to reduce/eliminate this?
@charlesbassiste9 ай бұрын
Ah I've also experienced hiss when I was plugged in both amp out and XLR. So try flicking the ground lift switch see if it resolves it... Of it doesn't, then you may have a noisy setup: from the bass, wiring, pickups, ... Or from the pedal power supply, or amp directly. Or maybe all of them!
@carlton13909 ай бұрын
True, I’ll look into that. Good to know it’s not just my unit. Thanks

Much more similar than I expected, given that the Delanos are constructed so differently. It's not just single-coil vs humbuckers and different impedance, they also have fat single poles for each string and ceramic bar magnets instead of AlNiCo5 pole pieces. Maybe they balanced the darkening effect of making a humbucker with applying less winds, and the stronger ceramic magnet compensates the loss of output? Whatever they did, they know what they are doing! I also have Delanos in my main bass, but it's the TheHybrid MM/J set, and I love it!

@charlesbassiste Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching justin431. Indeed they are different basses. Even two Fender Flea signature basses would sound different. The point here was to highlight the differences of the pickups, even if the rest of the bass also impacts the sound. That being said, the character of Delanos and Fender PureVintage do come across pretty well IMO. And this video is just for people to get an idea of what the Delanos sound like, as their website is very minimal in sound description/sound examples... Comparing them to a very common and well known pickup configuration, is only to give perspective to the auditor. This video isn't to figure "who's the best" !

This is the best demo of this thing in my opinion. Everywhere else it's all just the most "classic" tones/settings and it never goes through all the settings, which I don't understand for such a big purchase. All the demos showcase setups and sounds that I don't gravitate toward at all, so thanks for showing a wide variety of sounds with something else than a P or J.
