@rickfromjersey8 ай бұрын
@@sdf12225 If you have the OBi adapter in hand and can get it to sucessfully associate your OBi account with your Google account before December 18, 2023 then you should be able to make and receive phone calls on a hardline telephone connected to your OBi200 adapter. HOWEVER, an important CAVAET if you purchased your OBi telephone adapter on or after December 18, 2021 (2 years ago) then very likely you have a reconditioned/pre-owned/used OBi telephone adapter and if that is the case and the previous owner of the device did not disassociate the adapter's serial number and nine digit OBi to OBi telephone number from their account then there is a possibility that your attempts to do a setup will be rejected and your out of luck, so be VERY VERY careful when buying an OBi telephony device on services like Amazon or eBay because you may be getting ripped off by being sold an OBi device that is BRICKED. Another CAVAET you should be aware of, if OBi decides to shutdown their servers or Google Voice makes an update to their backend network that breaks the OBi-Google Voice association then unfortunately your out of luck and can't do anything further.

I bought a 9010 and while I like the build and finish of the device I am not impressed with the setup procedure way too involved for me as I like a hard-wired connection and I had to use Windows 11 update service to actually be able to use the rear old fashioned USB port to connect to my main desktop which is not Wi-Fi capable. The Wi-Fi works with my main laptop but again it was a real trial to get this completed via the Windows settings service. What I am not impressed by is the cost of the ink replacements which are more than the printer cost me which does not make sense at all.
@techtalkwithtroy7975 Жыл бұрын
I agree on the setup. I could never just use it on my work computer the old fashioned way without their app. I do their $.99 cent/month ink plan since I don’t print that much. Also, I got like $50 free ink $$ when I started and have not even used it all yet so I’ve not had to pay anything yet. I may rethink that when this money runs out. Thanks for your valuable feedback!
@johngoard8272 Жыл бұрын
@@techtalkwithtroy7975 Yes Troy I don't use the printer that much say once or twice a week, so there is no need for any ink plans. The setup was a nightmare for me as I could not get to grips with the fancy apps and I only got the printer connected the old fashioned way by installing the drivers and using Windows 11 Settings/ Devices settings to be able to connect via a USB cable to the back of the printer (I ripped off the sticker over the port) and using WiFi from my main laptop again was done via Windows 11 settings after installing the driver for the printer. As you may guess I am not an app fan at all because it all becomes too difficult and complicated. But after all it is a good and quick printer and overall I like it as much as my previous old HP Officejet Pro 8600 which sadly died after I tried cleaning the printhead (not to be done lightly!!

Agreed SimpliSafe system is easy to install. It's a good monitoring system but for the poor quality of their video doorbell camera from internet connectivity standpoint. I did purchase it along with the Video Doorbell Camera but the camera goes offline (no live stream) with a message 'Disconnected from the internet' every 2-3 minutes. SimpliSafe attributed it to my poor Wi-Fi network when in fact I have 5 GHz-600 MBS speed bandwidth along with six Google Nest Wi-Fi routers. When I complained to SimpliSafe, they asked me to split my Wi-Fi network into 2.4ghz and 5ghz since SimpliSafe doorbell camera works only with 2.4ghz bandwidth (this they do NOT say anywhere). I did the split and connected the SimpliSafe doorbell camera to the 2.4ghz Wi-Fi network but in vain. The camera went offline after 2 minutes as ever before. They sent me a replacement camera which too had the same 'going offline every 2-3 minutes' issue. I repeatedly called SimpliSafe and asked for a good solution. They had the cheek to say I should move my internet router (which is about 10 feet away from the doorbell camera) closer to the doorbell camera. That was the last straw that broke the camel's back and I canceled my subscription service. While the rest of the SimpliSafe system works, the doorbell camera does not since it's outdated. Today's doorbell cameras support dual bandwidth (2.4ghz and 5ghz) and SimpliSafe lags behind, thanks to their outdated technology. I am currently using the SimpliSafe doorbell camera without the video recording feature from the web interface (smart app disabled due to my monthly subscription cancelation) though the the camera goes offline every 2-3 minutes but then I am not paying $27.99 for the poor quality of the camera. I can't return the equipment either since I am past the product return window. I am now inclined to go in for the Google Nest Doorbell since I already have the Google WiFi Mesh Network of six routers and hopefully I'll not run into the poor wi-fi connectivity issue when I install it. Thank you for the great video.

The reason I ask is that despite not using their service (MJ) for making or receiving calls, whenever someone calls me on the old landline number I still receive an email informing me of the call and if they leave a message I am able to retrieve it online. Obviously, I cannot return the call on that line since I don't have MJ service. Thank you again.

I believe you can port those numbers to Google Voice, but of course, you’d have to check with their website to verify. It seems these companies changes their policies frequently and hard to keep track of. I’m still enjoying using this method of having a “land line” for free!

This company is no longer selling these units as of 12/21 and they are ending all service 12/23. They're also ending connection with Google Voice. They say it may still work after that date but you're not getting any help for anything. You're rolling the dice buying this thing now. Read Ooma reviews and that thing sounds like a nightmare. For me, as much as I hate paying monthly fees, I am going to go with the home phone service from my internet provider. I despise paying monthly fees less than nonstop headaches from faulty, failing or completely abandoned technology.

I’ve had mine since making this video and thankfully it still works! Thanks to Rick for providing this last minute information on end of life. I’ll just let mine go until it just stops working one day. At least I’ll still be able to maintain my Google Voice Account.
Hi Troy, thanks for the video! Question: Do you still have this cover/keyboard in your iPad? Thanks!
Yes I do! Hasn’t failed whatsoever. I really like it. Thanks for the question.
Love ur review - just wonder if it auto lock the keypad if it is closed?
Thanks for watching and your comment. Yes, it locks automatically when closed.
How has the swivel hinge held up over time. I’ve avoided this type of case because of possible durability issues.
It has held up great all this time. Not a bit of trouble! Thanks for the question.
My simplisafe is a complete piece of junk. At first I was getting notifications every minute saying there was motion. Even after blocking out almost everything. After that the thing just never connected. I have wifi going at 144mbs at the doorbell. Complete junk.
Which is why I returned mine too!! Thanks for sharing.
How did you get an iPad for $100?
Hi there! It was a promotion going on at my cellular provider. Sign up for their plan and they threw in an ipad for $100. Thanks for the question.
This is a great video! Do you know how to activate secondary key functionality, for example using the at symbol, question mark, etc. I am unable to enable mine.
I’m not sure other than using the shift key for those. That’s how I use those keys anyway. Thanks for the question.
The tray output extender is too short for 8.5" x11". paper ?
Not that I’ve experienced. You pull it out and the little tab stop flips up to catch the paper.
I am having a problem finding the printer to add it to the devices and printers on my computer so every time I try to print it tells me that I can't so when I went and to add a printer and put the printer I wanted to add and it searched did not find the 9018. How do I download this printer so I can print to it
You must have their software app for HP Printers 🖨 in order to use this printer. If you’re on a Windows machine you can find it in the Windows App Store. That should help. Make sure the wifi and Bluetooth are turned on for both the printer and computer.
@@techtalkwithtroy7975 thank you so much I spent 3 hours last night trying to make it work I will try this this weekend
But after all it is a good and quick printer and overall I like it as much as my previous old HP Officejet Pro 8600 which sadly died after I tried cleaning the printhead (not to be done lightly!!
question, is this compatible with the 8th generation?
Check the description good on Amazon as they specify exactly what models will fit.
How does it connect?
Bluetooth connection.
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed.
Glad it helped! Thanks for the feedback!
You sold your older iPad to your son? Ok that's something I would never do. It's family so my son would never have to pay, and no I do not have a lot of money. Nice review nevertheless.
Teaches kids the value of things. Kids are entitled today. Nothing wrong with learning how to make some money and buy your own things even used from your parents. He was perfectly fine with it. Thanks for the comment and watching the review.
I just brought this case and my screen lock won’t lock when I press the button
I realize that you posted this 2 years ago but I would really like to know how to adjust the volume of the audio . It sounds like the whole neighbourhood can hear the conversation unless I whisper 🤔.
HI The BERSEM brand have newly launched tempered glass paperfeel screen protector, you can enjoy the tempered glass and paperfeel eperience
i have one of these and ur vid really helped me thxxxx

Thanks for the great post!! I wholeheartedly agree! I have the Google doorbell without a days trouble. They always try to blame the consumer’s wifi connection! I love SimpliSafe’s alarm system, but their doorbell is dreadful. Thanks for posting!!
I got an older model and I love it! But now the keyboard just stopped working, not even the battery lights are on. I plug it in to charge it and nothing happens..! Is there a battery I need to change?
I’ve not had an experience like that. My original keyboard still holds a charge for weeks. These keyboards have internal batteries that are usually not replaceable. Your only option might be a replacement keyboard unfortunately. Thanks for the question.
Hey, why is your chandelier shaking? Is that just the camera?
I have no idea. LOL Didn’t notice. I may have touched it at some point and then continued to move.
How did you get the touch pad to work?
On my particular model there’s a function key you have to toggle on. It looks like a little hand with a finger on the ‘T’ key.
Mattie Henley I need me a house phone, Can you please help me with that
Hi Mattie. I just read on their website they are no longer supporting this technology and those of us who have it will work for a while longer but don’t know when it will be completely turned off. Google still offers free phone number but using the box to connect it to will not be working. I have not seen anything on the market that’s free but I’ll keep my eyes open.
Are you still satisfied whit this printer? Would you recommend it?
Yes!! Best printer I’ve owned so far. I don’t print much but when I do no jams and the ink doesn’t clog. Plus I like the connectivity features to print from my phone/iPad. Would still highly recommend!! Thanks for the question!!
GE AWARE OF THAT: www.obitalk.com/info/products/obi212
Yes! Mine still works just fine but no idea when they will completely sever the service from Google! It was fun while it lasted.
Thanks for the review. I had the actual PaperLike Protector on a 2018 iPad but never thought it lived up to the hype. I recently got the 2021 iPad and got that protector. I wished I saw your video first as their directions are very weak. I managed to get it on fairly well. I was using a silicon tip on the other iPad Pencil but don't need it anymore.
Cool! I still have mine on and love it. No trouble with it and much cheaper! Glad it worked out for you!! Thanks for the comment!
Thank you for your video. I used my old landline number with majic jack and am no longer with them, can I still port that old landline number to GV so I can use with this system?
Thanks for that update!! I've also put a notice in the description of this video. Really kind of sad as this device has been AWESOME! Mind still works great in connection with Google Voice! We'll see what the future holds. Perhaps we'll see something come on the market comparable.
