Great video! I have some issues with the entire top rail no longer being attached so the underpinning flops out with it in the wind...it looks like they never screwed it in at all??

Very great workmanship. Tell me about the top clips, do the clips come with the kit? I bought a 14x70 kit last week, it'll be at my mobile home this Wednesday. It's my first rodeo, the job looks fairly easy to me using common sense and knowledge. Any tips or tricks for me. Thank you

I don’t mean to sound negative but the underbelly should have been repaired, the junk wood etc should have been pulled out and it is not rodent proof which should be the first concern of any mobile home. This work is only cosmetic. I understand if the homeowner doesn’t want it done right but to me this is a waste of money!

How long will it last after the yard crew go around it with a weedeater running 4 strings of 105 diameter. Has a customer called back because it got tore to shreds? If so, I'm wandering how you handle that situation. Please respond, I'm very curious. Also, do you offer the option of rodent proofing while installing the vinyl underpinning?

I do mobile home skirting for a living. It depends on what material you use. If you use the cheaper flemsy vinyl skirting that's just a risk that's going to happen. That stuff chips super easily. I always recommend to my customers the Titan Xterior Prime Panels. They are resistant to weed eater chipping. It's not quite double the cost, but it's worth it and looks much better.

that underbelly fabric has seen better days, it can be patched to keep the rodents out.

Depends on which type of vinyl skirting you use. It all requires maintenance that most people overlook. Titan Xterior Prime Panels are what I recommend to my customers. They are weed eater resistant. And they also come in an insulated version.

how much to charge for a job like this?
@all_n_baby5 ай бұрын
Depends on location, but I charge anywhere from $500 to $1000 labor. Travel, size of home, and if I have to tear down old skirting or not.

So you didn`t install perf panels for venting? No access doors either? Those alone are code violation`s. No wonder it rotted out the underneath the home, previous knucklehead did the same thing you just did.
@all_n_baby5 ай бұрын
It's not necessarily a code violation, but by the book you're supposed to vent every 150sq ft. I usually do 6 vents on a single wide (3 on each side) and 8-10 on a double wide depending on the size. Always two in front and two in back and up to 3 on each side.

Possibly unpopular opinion. Vinyl sucks it deteriorates rapidly and it’s just ugly. Corrugated metal is a far superior option.

my place in is on a slab and so is the skirting. the bottom skirting track is screwed to strapping and the strapping is nailed to the slab, i recently had to redo it as the wood was rotting and the nails were rusting. this was on a double wide. now if i wasnt on a slab i would use the spike right on the ground like your doing.
