If they were able to construct the 1,800 km Grand Canal (China), the proposed Kra canal, which is only about 800 km long, could be built.😊

Korea and Japan share same high speed rail gauge, standard 1435mm. But KTX uses TVM-430, imported from europe, and shinkansen uses ATC signal, making both networks NOT COMPATIBLE to each other. We can connect rails but can't practically use it.

Great video! The risk of building a single train in the USA is the lacking interconnectedness. They need a China-scale investment and tons of lines to ripe the benefits.

I am glad to se the US is finally starting to see the light. It terms of transportation the US feels like a third world country compared to Europe, Japan and China.

Saying how far the stadiums are away from a random other stadium other is like saying JFK was killed while riding in a car with a 6.4 liter V8 engine. Yes, it's true. And yes, literally no one needs to know this info.

A train that starts from nowhere and ends 3 miles from the Vegas strip? Will there be secure parking for thousands of cars at the California stops? Rental cars available at the Vegas end? Will there really be Las Vegans flocking to Cucamonga? Add time, inconvenience and cost getting to and from the train stops, you're better off driving. Unless all you want's a train ride. Better to spend billions upgrading the freight railroad between LA and Vegas and using commuter trains than building the Cucamonga Cannonball. It's really all public funds, despite what this video implies.

I've used crossrail a few times and it's amazing. It's fast, clean and plenty of space in the huge stations. Now we need crossrail 2 from south west London to north east London. To be honest, Thameslink the north to south line should surely be called crossrail 1, with the Elizabeth line being crossrail 2. That would make more sense because it actually does cross London, and also links many towns and cities in the south east of England. Anyway, I hope the Elizabeth line is extended in the future to link more of London's peripheral towns. It could continue to Dartford from Abbey Wood for example, or even continue to Gravesend or Rochester. In the west it could be extended to Basingstoke, Newbury and Oxford. I don't think this will happen but it's a good idea to extend the Elizabeth line to millions of other people in the region.

It's worth noting that distances had nothing to do with holding back high speed rail projects (Let's be fair, if distance was really a concern, the Transcontinental Railroad would never have happened). Competition with cars and planes were initially a factor, but with rail travel making a resurgence, the primary factor holding these projects back is NIMBY and people constantly taking these projects to court in order to make it too expensive for the projects to keep going EVEN IF THE STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ARE LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO FUND AND FULLY COMPLETE THEM.

This plan had issued during the annexation era. Because Korea was in Japan. Japan had planed new capital city of Japan should be Seoul instead of Tokyo. So Japan needed to have pass way to the peninsula from kyushu directly. But after WWII、Japan no longer needed the tunnel plan. Now Japan thinks what Tsushima strait tunnel is dangerous for security of Tsushima island.

I live in Thailand, this canal will never be built because it will separate the south from Thailand, there are many groups (Muslims) who want that part of the country to join Malaysia By building its canal, Thailand will lose the entire south to Malaysia.
