I live near the wandle and because of the area honestly no mp could care less. Our neighbour was told by Tom when she wanted his help that it was what we got for living nearer to the industrial area.

I have fished and walked the Wandle since I was a kid and always lived in Carshalton an absolute gem of a town. after a big gap I am getting back into river fishing and it must be encouraged as Anglers are very good at looking after the environment and making sure litter etc is picked up. I always do a litter pick when I fish. However there are some recent type of fishermen who are not ad well intended and leave rubbish and light fires. We need a report line to flag these people and put the number on signs along the wandle. Keep up the essential work, the wandle is the life blood of Carshalton and we must all fight to look after it.

In the late 50's we used to explore the Wandle somewhere near the Willow Lane Ind estate and along the way ( a hidden overgrown garden) what has now become a park ! We went as far as Ravensbury Park. Saw the cornmill and other old artifacts! Amazing exploring as a 9 year old! Greetings from Thailand.

Born in 1947 at Earlsfield I have always had a fascination with the River Wandle. As a teen my mates & I used to cycle along the river but that was before The Wandle Trail and we often got chased away from private property. I left for NZ in 1969 and the river was then an open sewer. My wife & I were delighted in 2000 when we came back on holiday to see how the river had been cleaned up. In 2007 I was back again and with two old school & Rocker mates walked The Wandle Trail. We were all blown away by how clean and wonderful the Wandle now was. Keep up the good work to keep it that way.

Thank you for this video, I love the Wandle river and often takes photos of the kingfisher and it's very sad to see so much damage being done by various parties.

Parties? The Tory party privatised the water companies.

I love going fishing on the Wandle, it pissed me off that in the forest side of it above the mill I hooked up and lost nearly 100£ worth of lures, into, a burnt motorcycle near the pipe that passes by and it’s covered as a bridge by apartments, then I took out, plastic bags, male/female underwear, so much rubbish 😢 thrown by people, I loved the wildlife birds, in the little forest walk of Colliers Wood.

Admirable. I feel the same way about the air pollution caused by your colleagues’ incinerator. Any plans to do a film on that?

Thanks for the video. Another example of corporate balance sheets being more important than the environment and people’s pleasures. One day the scam of entrusting our utilities to business for exploitation for profit will be reversed.

WE don't do anything about it. The gov needs to step up and put a stop to privatized water companies being allowed to pump grey water overflow into our beautiful rivers when there is no excessive rainfall. I don't mean give them a slap on the wrist and fine them, i mean renationalizing our water so billions of pounds worth of profits aren't going to greedy fat cats at the top. This is ridiculous. Just look at the river Warf for god's sake.

Thanks for a great film. A brilliant illustration of the incredible benefits an urban river like the Wandle can bring, but also of how our politicians have deliberately worked against this by enabling privatised water companies to siphon off profits and reward their criminal executives with impunity and toothless sanctions, instead of repairing and upgrading the sewage and storm systems as they should have done. In the ideal world those profits should be clawed back and the executives made criminally liable. Credit to you and all of the local people trying to care for this gem of a river.
