you got any links for the seal kit please i wasnt gonna do it but now ive seen this vid will be doing it also ordering a kit for m57 auto to landy transfer box
How much power can the gearbox handle
Might be worth asking on the BMW forums for figures but theyre rated very highly and used in competition cars/high power builds
👍 Awesome work TSR successful first flight in US 636
Just trying to collect some air miles 😂
So today I spent six hours trying to put the assembly back together. Every time I did up the four screws, the gear selector would ham. Turns out I wasn’t doing it right 😂 Thank you all fixed now
Well done Shabs!
Thanks Alan!
When will this be back in stock
In the next week or so
Sc36 motor?
Not sure what the engine code is but its from a 1000cc Honda VTR from the mid 2000's
This is awesome!
I'm confused, Mac Tools sponsor, and your looking though a pile of tools, for the right socket and wrench?
Yep, our good friend at Mac Tools Kenilworth sponsor TSR but we're a 21st century setup with mostly only Metric tools. The 60s mower is all non-metric stuff from the dark ages, which we never use on the racecars. If we do more 'old' stuff we might have to stock up on a full Imperial tool kit for this workshop.
@@SyncroGearboxes Cool, sorry, forget sometimes, I'm watching from other countries sometimes!! LOL Great vid, by the way!!!
That engine will rip apart that chassis if you dont strengthen that chassis with tubes. That chassis is cartboard in comparisson to that engine.
Hey guys, would love an update on this project - how's it going? Cheers!
Its still here, but with so much going on we're struggling to find time to get her done. Hopefully through the late summer we'll have a bit of time to get the last bits done and dusted!
Car is gorgeous
Thank you!
Your title is confusing because there were ev axles aswell, maybe only for the rear
Yeah i guess we should have put a full stop after the main title. Land Rover Series 1 EV. Axles:...
it's looking great, Amigo!!
Thanks Fionan!
When you put that on the dash, it looks like it has a separate Nylon washer. Is that right?
Well done all...how did you find wet mud on that dry weekend 😆
cool project i would like to do something like that but i miss the skill and the money either xD , cool to see you guys make this project
Thanks! We appreciate that! We're just having a bit of fun with the project. Trying to do it very cheap and using what we have. You dont have to always spend lots of money on this like this and theyre also a great way of learning skills too.
Any updates on making this 2wd ? Just wondering if youve had any issues like wearing out the rear diff etc
Mmm maybe not rub and get that dust crust and shite in the workshop! Drag it outside and do it in a “dirty” area. Keep the workshop clean. Take care M.
all the way from kenya.
Thanks very useful
Awesome - thanks for commenting and glad you found it useful
Great video great bit of kit makes a remarkable difference, thanks for the upload 👍
Thanks! Glad you like it
slam it down, and run a horizontal v-twin, and a cvt. far easier and simpler than a peerless 700 shifter mower
Super well done! That is a sweeeeet ride. Perfect now for them loooooong Texas Farm Market roads!
Thanks, we loved doing this conversion, she is a honey!
that sounds really fabulous !! Great job, Amigo!!
Thanks! All the Turbo sounds!
Great solution, those engines are so good.
Yeah something a bit different and plenty of reasons for her to have a more refined modern engine
Awesome swap man heaps of work going into it that’s for sure. What are you doing about wiring and adapting the ecu to the older gauges ect? Keen to see more 👌🏻
Hey brother. Doing a swap right now and considering using your kit for the lt230 for 4l80. My question is. What do I do with the transfer case shifter handle? First swap on a defender I may have missed something in plain sight online lol.
Is there a way to shorten the throw with this kit?
So since you took the gearbox off the leaf, does it change the gear ratio? What RPM is the leaf spinning at? Would I be? Would I be able to make that to a regular transmission or could I go with no transmission and just straight to a driveshaft?
Добрый день, подскажите пожалуйста у меня Форд транзит 2007 года Двигатель 2.4 Коробка передач 5 ступенчатая Подойдет ли этот комплект ?
best of luck, amigo!!
Thanks! Super looking forward to it
Great plan, hope it all goes to plan and look forward to updates🤞
We'll be keeping everyone posted with our progress on this throughout the year - can't wait!
Fantastic! Best of luck out there. Johnson Valley was part of my old desert racing stomping grounds. Good times ahead!
Thanks! You're lucky to have had access to JV, in the UK there is really limited places to race & go 'wheeling' - excited to be getting back out to the Lakebed!
@@SyncroGearboxes Yep, sure do miss it. Living over here I now have to to Morocco or Tunisia to get my desert fix!! ;-)
Hi a quick question do you fit these?
Well done! Lots of good ideas for my M57 install into my long nose Defender roadster. When I was growing up my dad had a 1969 Ford F150 long bed pickup with a camper top on it. All of us kids road in the back. To keep us kids from melting in the 50+ degree weather he mounted an aircon out of Lincoln just like yours in the back of the truck bed. It was so powerful that we would be freezing and would have to ask him to go easier on the aircon! Not that you would ever need that kind of air con here ;-)
Thanks for sharing your family memory and glad you are getting some good ideas for your project. Yes we certainly don't need much air con here 😂☔️☃️
For anyone wondering in 2024, yes it can be done with the gearbox in the car by removing the center console. I did it on my disco 1 quite easily by watching this video!
Very helpful 🤠👍🏾 thank you very much!! Great video! We’ll done ✅
Awesome - thanks for the comment. Glad it was helpful!

Apart from Great video content and goomusic in the bacground its great that you have thebalance between the colume of you speaking and the music balanced well. So many ruin a good video getting this wrong. I look forward to seing this one rolling.
Thanks for the feedback 😍, we always try and spend time on the edit to get the volumes right as we know its super annoying when the audio is too loud/quiet. Next video is currently in edit so should be out in the next week or so 👍
Great job, Shabs! Looks great. Can you post a link to the RE and CIO paint? I could really use some. Cheers, pal!
Thanks! We've updated the video description to include the link to Buzzweld's website for all your paint needs 😍 (www.buzzweld.co.uk)
Also fitted one of these and the guys at syncro are great. The clutch is wank though so bin it. Don't even know why they put it in it can't manage the power of the 184 even
What clutch have you used instead of the one that comes with it also which fly wheel
What are the symptoms of a bad output bearing. We have a 97' Defender 300tdi and it has a horrible whine when under acceleration only.
How has no one made Nissan leaf BMS plug and play extension cables yet 😂
The MT82 transmission replaced the Tremec T5 transmission in Fords. A move apparently hated by Ford guys. Would this adapter kit work with the Tremec? I would like to put an M57 or an N57 in my 528 BMW, but I cannot find a suitable standard transmission solution. The M54 engines have a different pattern so none of the gas engine transmissions will work. I believed a T56 trans would be the best if I can find a way. Great video, any feedback will be appreciated.
No gasket or joint. at all?
Sealant is preferred over a gasket
Great job! And yes, the aircon condenser is not necessary...here in the UK! Back in Texas, it was an absolute necessity ;-) Looking forward to the rest of the build.
much better than doing a body swap
I have used this kit a coupla times an it's great never had an issue with it highly recommended 👍
Fantastic! As a Yank expat in Blighty I highly approve. But I also stuck a M52 in my Defender Roadster so I may not be the best judge of what is morally acceptable to do in engine swaps! Carry on, my friend, carry on!
