Fun fact, The NTG does not work properly with the Lumix S5ii. It requires being on "Mic+ Power" setting in camera. After a week of conversations with Rode, they were kind enough to send me a ProPlus for testing purposes. Rode could not effectively put in any kind of ticket to do testing so they send me the ProPlus as a solution. ProPlus works awesome with no flaws on the Lumix S5ii. It was a very frustrating experience to figure out, but has to put in the work to effectively communicate to Rode with data that there is an issue. Side not: I do love the NTG, works amazing on my GH4/5. For whatever reason is not a clean experience with the S5ii

@@RickyCheung ok
:O would love to use this for taking photos and footage of packaging that I designed for my portfolio, the lighting control would be clutch to get professional looking shots.
Please make a video of how to balance this with r5 and 24-70 with the limitations 😇🙏
I will considered a future gimbal balancing video. It seems alot of folks still aren't balancing right and really stress out motors.
@@RickyCheung can you use it in briefcase mode snd use the 360 with the rf 24-70? Thanks!
@@diegopalma5123 So given the 6.6lb payload, it will support the weight however, the RF 24-70 is sooo front heavy it will not go into briefcase mode at other than sticking to 24mm. Otherwords using RF 24-70 at 24mm BALANCED, you'll be find. If you try to mid-balance with the same RF 24-70 at 35mm-50mm-ish and pulling the plate back it will make contact with the eye-cup. I've tried different ways but I can't get it without counter weight.
@@RickyCheung ah ok, so if i put some counterweight it will be possible. I am new into gimbal and the weight and size and price of this is a perfect fit but i will use it with the 24-70 as the main lens so i hope that would be fully possible…remove the eyecup wont be an option? Thanks for your time!!
@@diegopalma5123 you can not remove the eyecups on the R6/R5
Thank you for explaining the growth potential as well. It gets overwhelming thinking if I buy this, then when I grow, then what?
The beauty about the godox system is no matter how big or small your light is they all talk, which is amazing so a lot of potential for growth in the future depending on your shooting needs. Thanks for your feedback and good luck on your journey.
Hi! Will this work with Canon R5 and RF 24 -70 2.8? The list says can be balanced at 24mm (that means that only will work at 24mm? Thanks!
It will. I show it does in the video. You will not have full motion because arm unless you use a counter measure of somehow.
Sorry i dont understand why no full motion. What do you mean because of arm? The eyecup touchi g the gimbal? Thanks
You wont be able to do briefcase mode because of the eyecup touching the gimbal? Thanks
I want 😊😊
the BM adapter is a cool add on I have the godox ml60bi v1 and I choosed tat because with 2 npf I get over 1 hour at 100% brightness!
the Bowens mount adapter is clutch. Really nice to include on in the kit as I know many other lights don't have this included. It opens a load of options for lighting needs. Is the Godox ML60Bi same brightness on batteries at 100%?
I'd use it for travel! We all know that traveling with lights isn't the most comfortable. So, I would totally use it for that situation and also lighting places that are small. ❤
Nice and portable, load up with some NPF or v mount and you'll be good.
Great video man! I've actually been looking for a new small-ish light for my more run and gun type shoots. This would be perfect because of how small it is. Or even one a table top setup. I'm @supa_dupa_dude
I love their app. I hate actually pushing buttons lol
The Neewer App is pretty great compared with other brand App.
I definitely would use that light for video work of people at sunset. If I win, my email is on my channel's info page. I don't have IG. Thanks!
Good luck!
Thank you! Great work!!!
Thank you!! Hope the video helped you pick your mic of choice.
@@RickyCheung It definitely did! Going with the NTG! I had gotten the other, but am switching because it sounds way better in my opinion based on your video and examples. Great production, explanation, and video quality. I appreciate it and benefited from this video!
You’ll love the fact that it’s plug and play on any/most devices. I pulled my NTG off my camera plugged it into my MacBook for amazing voice over for social. One and done. The videomic pro+ sits in the draw. I still have it as a backup cause we never know. Good luck!
@@RickyCheung Amazing! Thanks again Ricky! Keep up the great work. Blessings!! 🙂✨🙏🏻
@@RickyCheung Sorry for another message Ricky, but I wanted to let you know that I just ordered a few things off of Amazon and made sure to order through your link. Thanks again for the video! Have a great rest of the week! 🙂✨🙏🏻
Nice video! NICE Light! Thank you for sharing this review! Looks awesome - I want one.... I like the versatility, will be great for wedding photography. @garyflomphotography
Thanks for watching!
Wow❤ my mom has a youtube channel i support her by being her photographer and videographer. If i am choosen i will share her instagram and we can together say thank you to you. I dont want us to get doxxed by people in the comments Tysm for the giveaway Good luck to all❤ We currently dont have a video light so we would use it at events to cover them (we dont do weddings etc, we cover events vlog about them, get a clip of a speech and present the event to the viewers essentianlly) So this would be a game changer since most video lights are in the 300$ range plus stand plus softbo it easily becomes 1k and thats too much for me ❤So this would mean alot❤ And yes US residence for shipping, forgot to add that
Goodluck!
Easily can use this for background light or even hair light!
Great Video!
Thanks!
I’m new at photography. When should I used f1.2 and when not. I notice you said you wouldn’t used 1.2 when it’s a lot of people
Aperture is a light and depth of fieldof control. If you want those creamy backgrounds 1.2 if you need more things in focus within a certain plane then you’ll probably want to that aperture higher for example, if you’re shooting multiple people a row of family members you’ll probably want to be at f4.5/5.6 to get more people in focus within that focal distance vs 1.2 with a narrow depth of field.
does it have active tracking?
The Weebill 3E does not support active tracking as there is no port for transmission. The Weebill 3E is a simplified gimbal going for smooth shoots and ergonomics.
@@RickyCheung ty man! do you know what recent gimbal does support it?
From Zhiyun from what I know the Weebill S and Crane 2S/3S maybe the newer Crane 4 as well as they have the transmission port
Where did you find that compatibility list? I can only find the cameras not the lenses!
Directly on Zhiyun’s site. www.zhiyun-tech.com/en/download/software/913/0?type=website&page=download_product&source=software
They are listed on the same page along with camera body.
16 hours of battery life! Impressive, considering how compact the whole unit is.
16hrs more the enough for days shoot and I never even power off during idle. Just gotta remember to balance correctly and motors won't stress on idle.
What’s your favorite lightweight gimbal? Mine is 👆
Neil Van Niekerk, who I think is the most knowledgeable person on lighting on KZread, did a video on this a few years ago and compared various speedlight flashes. Canon was much better than Godox when using ETTL. It consistently was much more accurate. So, even though I use Godox speedlights, I also have Canon speedlights and when I have an event to shoot, I take my Canon flashes. I trust them more.
For me, I personally say the R6 Mark II is the best choice because I don't need the extra 45 MP from the R5 and the fast shutter speed is what caught my interest! This helps me take pictures of excellent wildlife and sport photography but I do love the dark light features where I can still get a nice photo from a higher ISO value. It really depends on people but I also love video recording and having that 4k 60fps with no cropping is AMAZING! R6 suffice for people who just need the photo cause the R6 Mark II is just a tad bit better, user preference is always better than specification output! Have fun shooting!
I really liked your review, excellent production and loved the multiple views. As for the bag itself, gosh I really want to like this but I just can't gel with the front opening (nightmare for security) and that fixed middle divider actually feels like it takes away so much of the usable space and configuration options for the rest of the dividers. While it is billed as a 30L backpack, looks like my Tenba or Lowepro 25L can fit much more. Pity. I was hoping this would be the gear hauler for when I can't bring my Nanuk 935 roller so I hope Gura Gear listens to your input and gives us the same profile with a rear opening and no middle divider with enough loop fields for velcro to stick wherever I want them to. Oh- and luggage pass through!
I’m adapting and still at times. I’m like why do I need to zip so many before packing and going but it still does have its pros. I actually do like the sections for on-the go changing out lenses but for bigger work I just need it all open at times. I would say it does hold A LOT just not in the fashion of one opening and go to go. Mentioned in the video the outer pockets do hold a lot of bits. A big bonus on this one is that’s its noticeable lighter backpack on longer hikes.
I purchased the R6MKII upgrading from a 5DIV which actually has more megapixels. The R6MKII doesn’t disappoint and I’ve been very pleased with it. Still have my DSLRs (90D & 5DIV) they still serve their purpose. For what I do, I get good video work out of all cameras especially the R62.
this is really helpful! Thank you!
I saw only a few comments and likes, so I almost skipped your review, that would have been a mistake. Great job, to the point and no extra fluff. Thank you very much!!
Thanks for you feedback. Really appreciate it, it means alot. It's a backpack not too many people know or talk about but surely has now become my work backpack.
a short info regarding the battery life. The rechargeable batteries you used are nimh accus. They running with 1.2v what means there have 0.5v less than the godox accus or normal alkaline batteries at the beginning of there life. So there the powerex never pushes the limits what the flash or device would be capable of. I would recommend EBL lithium rechargeable they have a lof of power, you can charge it with every phone charger and they dont die because of overloading or over emptieng it
Godox still uses the hot shoe. Hello, everyone ells uses a smart shoe!!!!
Third party makes need to be smart with R&D spending and spend on what is working not adapted latest tech. At this point I’m sure they have something come as all camera makes naturally move to electronic shoe. It will come.
Will the V1 trigger wireless with a R6?
You’ll need triggers on the shoe to trigger an off camera v1. No Canon talks to other branded flashes.
interesting backpack... really made for Africa, for wildlife, for game drives... big tele optics ready to shoot...
Definitely! Instant setup for that type of photography/video for sure. I'm using it in a different fashion because it holds a great deal of kit.
Thank you for your video! How many pictures can I take with one charge with a perhaps typical setting of 1/32 or 1/16? Which settings do you use on average? You talked about about three weddings, which last hours. Don’t I need an additional battery then?
I use flash mostly at reception typically 4hrs, some for prep if needed and some fill if needed and for family as a fill/trigger for the ad200s usually. It sure the exact numbers but I’m happy for report I use them 2-3 weddings without recharge, but I usually play safe at 2 weddings without even thinking about them. No spares needed. It’s great. Hope this helps.
@@RickyCheung Thank you ☀️
EVERY ONE READS EXCEPT YOU BUDDY ! SERIOUSLY YOU AND CANON NEED TO GET A ROOM !!
YOU AND CANON NEED TO GET A ROOM !!! !!!
Pro + user here. I really really like the NTG sound here. I use the Pro+ as a staged mic to pick up band music, use it for environmental sounds at the beach all with a wireless receiver. I never really liked the Pro + on my voice but maybe im biased because as I don't like my voice, haha but I think the NTG will fair better for voice applications. Thanks for the review!
Am I missing something? He keeps saying “CANON”!
What do you guys think about the Gura Gear Kiboko? Would this design/layout work for you as your WORKHORSE camera backpack?
Solid review! Looks like a great and versatile bag for photographers and filmmakers.
Very flexible design for the creative. I'm enjoying it for days requiring a full load out.
The IBIS wobble on wide lenses was such a bummer with the R5. I know some people didn't experience that as much which sounds like a quality control issue
Turn off and digital IS results in better image at the 15-20mm range but it’s a bit cropped in so we lose the wide end but yea it sucks. Interesting if that’s the case.
Nice video, Ricky! Definitely something to look forward to. Interesting to hear your thoughts! 👌
The world awaits.. coming on Canon.
Super you answered my last question.cheers
Glad to help
Love your vides.Doin my 1st wedding after a while and will be using what you are?Quick one? What speedlights do you use for weddings or what is your lighting set up ?
2x Godox V1s and 2x AD200. You can checkout my other vids regarding reception light which people find most tricky. Hope this helps. Thanks for your feedback.
thansk a million richard.made me decide to get the r5 in 2024 from the Mark 3.Am mostly a stills tpg so should i settle for the R6 Mark 2 or the R5?thanks.
As a photographer first I appreciate the resolution of 45mp if needed. Depending on what you shoot as a photographer. As an event photographer which I do a lot of the R6II is more than enough but I tend to blow up my landscape work so.
@@RickyCheung ok I do mostly weddings, news, documentary and portraiture with stills. So which one of the 2 would you recommend?
Honestly just my opinion the R6II might work better for you with the exception of you need mega portraiture resolution which most people don’t.
@@RickyCheung thanks.Last question.Canon has Easter specials and the difference between the R6 Mark 2 and the R5 is about 6gran?So still which one ?🙃
They also have a refurbished sales as well. Your $$$ :). Always buy for NEED first WANTs should be 2nd factor. But always tempting to get more camera than we need.
Great video I appreciate the comparison.
Thanks for your feedback and taking the time to check out the video. I hope to have given a good comparison for you. Best of luck on selecting your next mic.
NTG all the way.I own it and even in an untreated room, it delivers very good sound.
My goto on camera and now my setup for quick vids for social. ❤️ it.. I do wish the mic battery would last longer when left unused but no biggy for me.
@@RickyCheung Set the camera level to 1 and mic level to 10 for the best audio, when connected via 3.5 cable. Best sound I recorded was via USB with OBS software.
I do love the mke600 but after plugging in a recorder in/out to camera it’s just much at times. Simple is key as I try to do more. Thanks for contributing.
@@RickyCheungmke600 is a good shotgun mic, but the NTG has all the features that one needs.
@user-iq6dr2du2y 💯 if only one this would be it!
Amazing comparison, thanks!
I consider X100VI as daily walk around travel camera and R5 + 24-70 for serious work.
Nice setup. Love the X100 series but I went small for my daily GRIII for daily carry.
Currently only waiting for the r5ii and Sony a1ii. Whichever wins, that's the one I'm getting. In the meantime, I'm looking for an r5 for less that $2k.
Keep watch, the R5 prices will drop for sure as it already has. I'm still looking for a non-record limit R5 and up camera. Might even consider the R5C but battery life is just....... Maybe they will come up with an LPE6NH+ battery.
@@RickyCheung I will. Thank you for the advice. I'm 70% photo, and the rest short-high-quality videos. The current cameras can serve me well. If the coming versions won't offer much upgrades, I might settle on the current version. And invest in some good lenses. You've mentioned something about the dynamic range. I'll do some tests.
@@RickyCheung My biggest problem with the R5C has always been the size. The almost perfect Canon camera. 😁
This is helpful, I think NTG was awesome!
NTG super neutral sound mic offering alot of flexibility for post. Sweet to be able to plug into phone, straight into laptop and use it. It's awesome. Thanks for watching.
