If you'd have made it back for lunch then what would have been the point. The point is to stop and smell the roses, or see what there is to be seen anyway. Over GoPro's and all their problems for the last many years. Action 4 with Mic2 & Insta 360, problem sorted.
Great video. And great stories .unlike stories like that. 👍
Been waiting for this second episode jack, you didn’t disappoint , great work & like the others say , just makes you wanna go and explore our beautiful country👍👍
@@varn67 Thanks Steve 👍👍👍🏴
Another fabulous episode on your Welsh Tour Jack. Excellent roads and scenery that your great cinematic views show. The Bedgellert story is excellent isnt it. Thank you
Thanks Dave. Before I did this video I read an article that the story was invented by a victorian pub landlord in a bid to increase customer revenue. Not sure of the validity of the story so I didn’t include it in the video 😂
Jack. Just in the first five seconds.. your noticing but it seems your not.. Perhaps yes it was sunny and now it’s not:: there is a reason.. look.. you will find it.. okay gonna continue watching 👍👍👍
Spent 3 days touring Wales a couple of weeks ago and having toured many parts of Europe, made me realise what we have right on our doorstep. 'arousal Cafe made us laugh too !!
Wow, this has got to be the best motorcycle tour videos I have ever seen. Wales is Absolutely stunning, I would say that I'm Welsh 😊
Thanks Martyn. Still another one to come in this series 🏍️👍🏴
Hi Jack, another lovely video, it's great with you putting up town names and road numbers. Keep up the great work 👍👍
@@Gsrider65 Cheers buddy. I will try 👍👍👍
Great vid. Inspired to do more touring.
Lovely trip and video Jack, my wife just got back from a week’s walking with a friend near Barmouth. That part of the world is stunning, huge empty beaches, and the great thing about a smaller bike is that it slows you down to enjoy the view. My preference is always solo touring as you can stop when you want. Off to west coast of Scotland late September, doing a similar style of trip. PS. Hope your health is a lot better now👍
@@IanTed Thanks Ian, health is slowly getting better but currently going through a low point. My recovery is not so linear this time but I’m confident it will improve 👍👍👍
@@motomogul 👍
Great video Jack and nice to see someone with whiter legs than mine. 😂😂
@@wraggy_moto 🤦 I know, no bloody summer though Paul! 🤨😂😂😂🦵
I have the same issue, my average speed is about 20mph because I keep stopping lol
@@Tuppi1290 It’s just got to be done! 📷📷📷😂👍
Same. Why rush
My best trips in the British Isles and Europe have been with a map and at a slow pace, like Jack I like to take a lot of photos😀.
It’s not so much features for me, as it is fit. Being tall is the dominant reason for going GS over some other very good options.
Ive done 10,000 miles now. Serviced myself, No problems of note. Instrument panel a bit of a joke. Speedo, recorded milage and revs work fine. The rest is very random 😂. Rides well. Adiquate on road. Capable off road. Sacked of original tyres. Ive got Mitas trail mastes. A bit of soft luggage. Otherwise standard. Use it daily.
They certainly do have huge character don’t they? ❤️🏍️🤘🏻
I have an R ... Not very interested in the GS, but the other day I went for a test ride on the GSA low suspension. Kinda liked it and traded my in. I might sell it back, but I thought let's enjoy it, let's move to something different for once. The ride was absolutely great
@@Mik01ist I fought against the BMW’s for ages but I couldn’t swap mine now, I love it too much. That was a bit of a mind transition for you though 😂👍
Other brands have had difficulties starting because th charcoal emissions evaporative canister has become flooded with liquid fuel, possibly from overfilling or sloshing in the tank. This will cause symptoms like flooding/too much choke which will be worse when the engine is hot and may not be noticed when cold, when it is wizzing over on the starter with no fire, try opening the throttle, this may lean it out enough to fire. You can get bypass kits to remove the system which consist of a plug with a resistor to fool the ecu into thinking the systems still there and some blranking caps to put on the vacuum ports on the throttle bodies. The rest of the crap is removed. There should be plenty of youtube videos on this subject. I have no problem riding on tyres that have had a proper puncture repair and would keep your tyre to take to a proffessional tyre shop that will repair it. If you haven't hot the stomach for it there will be plenty of people on ebay that will. Proper mushroom plugs are no problem as long as they are more than an inch from the sidewall.
The best bike in the world!
Waw ,It's a thing that scares me alot if I'm honest Jack...Getting whipped by my own chain! 😮 Awesome that yous got it fixed up to make it the 7 miles to that garage! 🤪👍
To be honest John, I was just standing around with my hands in my pockets watching on. There was too many experts offering advice for me to get involved! 🤔😂😂😂
@motomogul And with all those liability claims these days...That's exactly the right thing to do! 😉🤣👍
Looking pretty nice, besides the hotel refurb bit,so hopefully that wasn't a group mood killer Jack! 👍😬 I've heard a few folk complaining about the 20mph limits in Wales, but IMO what's the big rush anyway mate! 😜👍
It didn’t upset us too much, there was a pub directly across the road and another one 50 yards up the road 🍺🍺🍺 The biggest problem I found with the 20mph limit was staying focused as I was riding through it, it was so boring. 🥱
Got a 24 plate triple black demo aa my gsa is in for warranty work. I can say its really cramped leant over too far wind management is shocking 50mph and i am been blown off.imo the gsa is in another league
I really don’t understand why BMW has taken a gamble with this design. Not heard a good word about it yet 🤷🏼♂️
Needs at least another gallon in the tank.
What a lovely video. I was in exactly the same area, camping just outside Bala, around the same time as you were visiting. I couldn't get to the Great Orme as I happened by chance to be in Colwyn Bay on same day as the women's Tour of Britain cycle race finished in the area and there were roads closed and traffic all over the place. I'll have a look next time I am there. You're right, the scenery in the whole of Eryri (Snowdonia) is stunning.
The Great Orme is well worth the visit. Hopefully you will time it right and get on for free! 😂😂😂👍
I've just done exactly this.GSA trophy what a bike. Test rode the 1300 and hated it lol love the GSA great price and all the luggage thrown in
Excellent, nice move Stevie 👍👍👍🏍️
Hi Jack, the Abbey was closed when we visited last year but if you walk round to the right you can get full view of the Abbey.
A fabulous first episode jack. Some great views and roads, all very familiar. I have to say that i think youve gone up another notch again!! Thank you
Thanks Dave. Thought I’d try something different to what everyone else is doing 👍
@@motomogul well in my humble opinion Jack, it’s a good move👍
Hi Jack, really like these vids, something a little different. 👍👍
Thanks buddy. More to come 👍
Great first wales trip video.. rocks all the boxes. Did you know. There is a brilliant whiskey distillery in Llandudno ( Clan Dudd No ) Penderyn distillery. They have a great story. A great place to visit and great whisky. 🥃

I wasn’t aware that it was in Llandudno. I do love Penderyn whisky though 👍
@@motomogul yes the one there is quite a new place. 10’years I think. They have one in south wales that’s been the longest established. And perhaps a third. ?? There first brew from the one in Llandudno was only bottled after the first five years..
@greengoblindave just looked on their website, the Llandudno shop only opened in 2021.
@@motomogul yes the shop did. That’s because they had to wait so many years for the first brew to be classed as a whisky. If you can. Take a visit. It’s a great story. Even where they get the water 💦. And most of all. How… 👍
Beautiful location around the aqueduct last time I was there they stopped people using the little car park, we parked on the side of the road and walked down the main road 🏴 when you mention a pub the car park was right at the junction, Enjoyed the video 😊
Thanks Martin 🏍️👍🏴
I suspect access to the abbey is granted after a risk assessment, sign a disclaimer and the wearing of full PPE due to it being in a state of disrepair 😉
I suspect so. It’s a bit of a pity really. I didn’t know who to ask about getting access to it. Bit odd too that there’s a big caravan park all around it. Really ruins the ruins! 🤔😂
Will you be going to Llanfairpwllgwyngyll 😅😅😅 Me and the wife did wales a couple of years ago, stayed not far from where you were. Had a week touring round, such a lovely place. I think I may be following you backwards as I’m doing the Northumberland 250 next month on my own, can’t wait!! So many of the locations your video’s are familiar. I,m just outside of Grantham (Ropsley)
It is a lovely place. I must head back soon. Hope you have a great time doing the NLand250. That’s a superb ride with amazing scenery 👍 Ropsley is not far from me. I’m in Bottesford 🏍️🏴👍
That was an excellent video. Now I must visit Wales. A lot of Welsh links with Ireland.
Absolutely. The celtic links are strong with Ireland 🇮🇪 🏴
@@motomogul For sure.
My type of tour. Plenty of history and scenery. Great video and I'm only halfway through it.
Thanks buddy. More to come 👍👍👍
This inspires me in my future working towards a licence! Brilliant stuff mate.
Awesome!!
Thanks mate 👍👍👍
LOVE my 22 1250 GS TB... Put 4600 miles on it in just the last month. I regularly get 50 MPG. I just don't sweat the range... Not only is the 1250 a much better looking bike than the 1300, the GS is better looking than the GSA... GSAs look like lumbering camels...
The GS is way better looking 👍👍👍
I currently own a '20 GSA but in the market for an RS. Prefer to have both feet on the ground at stops 😅
I did enjoy it! Several times! Reinforces my buying decision 😂. Got a loaded one at a winter sale this year. My only disappointment, coming from an oil head RT is that the RS no longer shares the underpinnings of the RT. Seems a bit small to me.
Over 40 mph well into a 30 zone, really !!
As a long time GSA rider, I have watched just about every video of the 1300, then saw it in person, sat on it, was offered a demo ride, then an extended demo ride, and had zero interest in doing either. Notably, I have a great relationship with my local Motorrad dealer. I’ll wait a few more months, until after the 1300 GSA is announced, and when BMW decides that they need to offload their 1250 GSA overstock. At least in the USA, after the stop sale, they have quite a few 1250’s sitting around. This should be a great time to get a decent discount, while my current GSA isn’t losing a lot of value any longer. It’s bottomed out on depreciation. Unless BMW absolutely hits a home run with the 1300 GSA, which is doubtful given the 1300 GS, the 1250 GSA will be my final rendition of the BMW adventure line.
When I took this one back I parked it next to the 1300. The GSA looked so much better, so much more substantial. The 1300 looked very ‘average’ in comparison.
I love a good castle. History in general really. Great video.
Thanks buddy. More to come. Currently in Wales 🏴 for a Reset Ride.
I am on my third 1050 (ok I crashed one and wrote it off) I cannot find ANY bike I would like to replace it with except perhaps for a 1050 sport. Just fantastic.
They are superb bikes. Such a pity they were discontinued rather than updated 🤷🏼♂️🏍️
Great video 😁 we love Lincolnshire for riding. Try Ewerby near Sleaford for history on the Finch Hatton Arms and the film Out of Africa. Plus the story of Haverholme Priory and the ruins you can just spot across the field 😊
Hey, thanks for the recommendations. I’ve made a note and I’ll start researching these places for a video 👍👍👍
Definitely do more of these, I watch and like all your vids, but the castles and the fact about the concert in 72 (I was 16 months old lol) was fascinating 👌 Thanks for sharing and see you on your next adventure ✌️ 🤙 🤟
Thanks buddy. I’ll try and do more then 👍👍👍
Spot on video Jack. Yes, more of the same please. Lotus, isn’t that an acronym for Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious!! You’re looking well buddy too. Thank you👍
Thanks Dave. Never been wealthy enough to find out about Lotus. I thought it was just a position bendy women got into 😂👍
Beautiful place and great video although you are mistaken as to the best county as it’s common knowledge that Shropshire is indeed the finest 😜
Shropshire is a beautiful place, although it’s too far away for me to call local 😂👍
I do believe it was a lotus elan there jack. Another great vid mate.
Thanks Craig. Thought I was right 😉👍
Great vid, literally a few miles from my front door. Some lovely riding around Lincolnshire.
Cheers buddy. Yes, Lincolnshire is definitely my favourite local county to ride. Lots of interesting places, great roads and hardly anyone there, especially compared to the Peak District 😍🏍️👍
nothing in the vdo on wy you picked this vs the xr or GS or any other brands; price, seating , motor etc. NO clue on why i should look at this ?
There’s a simple answer to that question, Ed.
are foot pegs higher on this vs the xR . or any other GS ?
