  This is so beautiful. 🤩 I must get these pan pastels. I don’t know how I will afford them but I must have them. I sketch portraits all the time and these pastels will be the way to go for me. I don’t know why I never saw them before. Thanks for this lovely tutorial ❤️😍🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😇

  Prachtig gedaan Julia. Ik heb sinds kort ook gouache maar ben er nog mijn weg in het vinden. Vind het nog niet zo'n makkelijk materiaal. Dus ben blij met je video.

  Dankjewel, gouache is ook niet zo'n makkelijk materiaal om mee te werken. Maar als je je ertoe zet en het onder de knie hebt, krijg je prachtige werkstukken en kun je makkelijker met acryl en olie werken 😉

  I've watched so many of your beautiful videos, but I can't make sense of which colors you're actually using...white? Blender? Palest blue tint? Palest grey? Palest raw umber? Can't learn anything except that you're very talented...pointless after awhile...

  Bedankt voor je lieve woorden, in mijn Basisboek Tekenen noem ik een aantal soorten papier die ik fijn vind. Maar je zal vooral zelf op onderzoek moeten gaan wat jij fijn vindt. Schut Artist Drawing paper 225grams, The Masters Choice from Baohong Hot pressed paper zijn wel mijn favorieten 😊

  On Pastelmat I don't use fixative on ordinary pastelpaper you can use fixative.

  hmmm not gonna lie. sometimes i forget how good my work is compared to some people, since so often you see these masterpieces in media. But works like this remind me that you don't need to be perfect or some kind of master to be proud of your work and treat it as a proffessional piece. well, pan pastels are lovely to use aren't they.

  Are you using oil pastels or chalk pastels please? Also, can you paint the background in acrylics first, especially for a large piece where the background is primarily all one color? Thank you!

  PanPastel is a softpastel in a pan! Not an oilpastel. You can darken the dry acrylic layer with panpastel, but you need to fixate afterwards. Just try it

  Rare to see panpastel on canvas, great idea! what is better to save it, fixative for pastels or varnish as for paint?

  Fixative for pastels in thin layers and wait until dry to de the next layer of panpastel. At the end several layers of fixative to protect it al or you can do a acrylic spray varnish if you want. Just test it out 😉

  @@DarietaBand depance on what kind of camvas you work. You can use a regular one butva light gesoo with uv filter or a special pastel ground would be best.

  Hallo Julia. Wat voor soort folie gebruik je om je werk te beschermen. Pastel is heerlijk om mee te werken, maar het grote nadeel is het opbergen er van zonder dat het beschadigd.

  Gewoon folie waarmee je ook je bloemen mee inpak of leuke cadeautjes 😉 dus niet speciaal voor pastel omdat het toch statisch word en iets van pastel achterblijft.

  Thank you, with PanPastel I use Pastelmat paper from Clairefontaine
