  Just to let you know; the FSD highway stack isn’t on v12 yet. Only city street driving is on v12 with highway to follow sometime in a later version. You can actually SEE the visualization change when you merge onto a highway.

  Not being forced to keep the car in lane, to have to always do micro adjustments, is a breath. It's true, one doesn't need for this the FSD, base AP is enough, but it is so much better when cars come close to the adjacent lane you are driving on. And nothing stops one to keep the hands on the steering wheel. In fact Tesla says you should.

  There is an option for minimal lane changes. I really enjoy FSD. I’d recommend trying it if you haven’t. It’s not 100% accurate but it’s getting better over time. This is the future and it will prevent horrible accidents like drunk, tired, and texting while driving.

  @@techworld4793 I didn't want to pay that much money for the FSD when I bought mine, but with the price cut in half for the subscription, I am all in. I wish I did it before I got the 2024.8.9 update, now I am stuck on 11.4.9 FSD. No 12.3.6 for me yet. But the price at the time wasn't worth it.

  Eventually people will realise that does not make any sense at all , I think is the fact that US is build with automobile as vital element of the American dream , poor public transport makes a self driving car look necessary but is ridiculous Even watching that video tires you more than keeping your hand on the steering wheel

  Thanks for your input. I actually prefer to use FSD over driving myself. Statically, fsd would prevent more deaths in the US due to driver distractions and drunk driving. The hand on the steering wheel isn’t too bad since it requires it every 30 seconds or so. Overall, if FSD reached 100% accuracy which i think it will eventually, it will definitely be worth having.

  You don't have to tap the car you can just press the button on the charger and it will automatically pop open the charging port. Could have saved 2 seconds right there lol

  Yep, matches my experience. I use FSD 12.3.4 everywhere (I'm in rural east TX north of Tyler). Vastly improved over 11. My neighborhood is casually-laid asphalt in the Piney Woods; no center line, no lane markings, edges obscured with leaves and debris. Sometimes the road is 2 lanes & 2-way, sometimes it splits (uphill and downhill segments) into single one-way lanes for 50 yds or so. FSD 11 couldn't quite handle it; FSD 12 does. The road splits are still tricky because they are not (yet) shown in the map data. When I'm on one, the display shows me driving about 10 yards off the road for a bit until the lanes merge back. So if you want evidence that FSD & TeslaVision works and can drive unmapped where Waymo never will, that's it. And, yes, FSD is amazingly relaxing in the sticks and on the highway. Even though I need to takeover occasionally, the reality is that FSD does 99% of my driving around here. You don't realize how much unconscious stress there is in micro-controlling a car until you stop doing it for a while. I'd never go back.

  A very easy drive for a human, but FSD has some problems: 4:45 Hard jolt. Tesla needs softer suspension. 7:17 Human intervenes, presses accel pedal. FSD runs a red light. 7:58 FSD ignores road signs, goes Right without signalling.

  In the U.S. we see 1.35 fatalities for every 100 million miles traveled. Tesla FSD has now traveled over 1 billion miles. As such we would have expected more than 14 people to have died if it was no more or less safe than an average human. But there are no known fatalities yet.
