I knew the star ship trooper was growing his hair to join a hair metal band cause the 80s rocked.

Yup! Pete Haycock of Climax Blues Band played a Veleno on “FM Live.” You can hear its unique tone all over the album. I saw them 5X in the early/mid 70’s. Also, my friend Scott found one used for $250 in the mid-70’s. I recall it was a bit neck heavy, but the Teflon coated neck played like butter.

Gilmour did venture to the 24th fret, having this guitar would make sense. Interesting head stock- looks dangerous though. Tommy’s the right guy to demo it.

From Climax Blues Band, the guitar player's name is Peter Haycock. He had the all gold Veleno guitar that Ike Turner tried to buy from him. But that didn't happen. Mark Farner looked the best when he strutted onstage with that thing. Check out Grand Funk live video (Los Angeles) from 1974. They were the biggest rock band in the world at the time. And Mark Farner was the man, there is no doubt in my mind. The Veleno guitar is a rock and roll time machine. It should have been in "Back to the Future" instead of that little Chiquita guitar.

Always got a sweet sound did Pete Haycock. I got to support Climax one time (late 80s ?), but Pete Haycock had left the band by then ... still good though. 👍 Pete left the planet some time ago ... Rave On Peter

I see Uncle Larry and immediately click on it. Now as for these guitars, I thought I was somewhat eell versed in most things guitars. I'll be danged, I've never seen one before not have I heard of them. There is a definite cool factor with these, I'm just not sure if I dig them or not. Anything that keeps a family legacy in the music business going is always a solid YEAH baby, so I'm happy the son decided to keep making these. Thanks guys.
