    Pulsar 😂. First synth I owned. But I never had the programming box and in the end got a bit frustrated with it and swapped it for a Casio CZ5000 which in hindsight was actually a positive as I discovered synthesis through that thing. Totally different way of making sounds which saw me in good stead a little later down the line

    I paid £400 for mine in 1990 😕. Sold it 10 years ago and it swiftly became the one and only synth Ive regretted selling. And Ive owned Pro 5s, Memorymoog + and a ton of old Korg gear. These things new looked incredible. You don’t see it now but the text on the front panel and the white buttons were dazzling white. Snow white. Every one I’ve seen over the years have rather nicotine stained off white buttons and text. But brand spanking new the thing gleamed.

    If I didn't already have the MPC One Plus along with a folder that has the sounds of almost every drum machine created, I'd seriously consider that Uno

    Honestly, having had a few PVS's over the years; the Arturia and Wavmod have the basic sound but those filters do not snap and bite like the original. This VS ProMini I like more even though the waveforms are not exact it hits with a real good filter that makes bass and percussive patches really come through,

    This is easier than IL Sytrus raw no presets and 😆😆😆😆😆 free vst Panzer Tank. I think the setup at Opsix is non scientist user friendly. Thumbs up.

    How are you triggering this without midi going to the midi in? I wish behringer would put the midi in on the back of their units rather than on top

    What is the difference with the Crave? If I want to buy one, which one should I buy?

  • @jmcmoi57
    @jmcmoi577 күн бұрын

    crave is made for sequence with pattern edition and more modulation on a single osc, you might play with it for acid-like sounds. edge is more percussive style due to the pitch modulation by enveloppe, but you can easily play around to create bass, percussive leads, rythmics and kicks or hats. I would go at first for edge as pattern creation (8 note loop) is a lot easier to put while creation possibilities are almost equal to crave.

    The main reason for this kind of synths costing so much is not that they were great machines. It is because they were used in the past by famous artists and producers and this way, they were included in recordings of great hits that now have historic significance. All of which I find terribly ridiculous!! yes, i love Van Gogh's paintings, but I would never deify his brushes for crying out loud! For their detuning problems alone, these synths shouldn't cost more than a 100 euros. Nowadays their target group is only filthy-rich fanboys and no-one else.. (edit) The only ones I can excuse for their high prices are the ones that were produced in small numbers, like the Synthex or the DX1. And even those are way too overpriced for their rarity..

    the JP6 actually DOES sound great. listen to some other videos demos. it’s got the famous Roland filter and envelopes that make it sound markedly different than the offerings from other brands.

  • @thejollyjoker187
    @thejollyjoker187Сағат бұрын

    @@kujumz Of course it does. The older the synth the better it sounds. But that is because today's synth tech is cheap and crappy, not because yesteryear's synth is better. The equivalent of a JP6 in today's synths would be the Polybrute 12, or the Moog One, or the Quantum mkII, all of which are light years better than the JP6 and not crappy (yet). But they're also a minority. An expensive minority. But I would prefer any of these at any time instead of a JP6..

    its a preset player, i like that, but with that many presets, hard to find the right one,,should have been way better search options, so you still need a small laptop or so. a bigger screen and doing it ala modx and i would get it.

    The wave folder on these is so cool. When I see someone playing on these the combination between East and West coast synthesis is always so compelling. I have to remind myself I can already run my FM/wavefolder synth through my analogue poly’s filter when I want to 😅 (though it has a few digital filter-emulations inside it as well!)

    I love the size as well, looks right at home next to the Dreadbox synths and POs and the iPad synths, I don’t know why I didn’t think about getting this line before. I absaloutely love this synth! Most semi Modular’s that I like I usually buy 2 because it’s double everything, like the JD 08 I have the SH4D and an Integra 7, so I’ve really thinking about getting the boutique sh 01a but I think first I want the 4MSMeta, my Modular is getting more virtual all the time and I believe will be the future of synths and I have a few semi modular Behringer again 2 if I really like it, that rule only applies to semi-Modular’s I want sh5 remake too, there has NEVER been this many great synths all at one time! Let alone the Modular ability to phatten everything up is so awesome!

    Fantastic one of a kind digital vintage synth. Wish I would own one. Don't have the money nor the physical space anymore. @ Starsky Carr or anyone, any VST instruments you know that can come close to the Microwave XT sonically? I'm surprised no developer has recreated & emulated this incredible synth on the virtual side.
