Welcome. My name is Juliet. I'm British, I'm a writer and I'm currently learning Italian (since December 2020), Welsh (since December 2021) and refreshing my French from my youth (since March 2023). I use Duolingo for language lessons, but I also use KZread, reading books and various other resources.
The current schedule for posting is:
Mondays - Duolingo run if I have one to post.
Wednesdays - Regular video (books, translations, etc).
Thursdays - A story/poem in Italian, if I have one to post.
Fridays - A resource you can use for language input, if I have one to post.
Sundays - A podcast on a language-related topic. Also available on Spotify, if you prefer to use that for podcasts.

No, when I lift my tongue, there is no rolling. Air just passes around my tongue.
And I try not to roll my R in order to get an English R. I did not know that people are struggling the same as me to get a Latin R. I feel much better now 🤣

How long is the welsh duolingo course? Short?
This looks great, thank you for sharing!
Hi, Juliet. I'm Italian. I study British English. Your Italian is very good. My favourite course is Assimil English. There is also Assimil Italian. Do you know it? Sorry for my mistakes. Have a lovely day.
Jarring video
Seems AI generated ... uncanny valley
Super helpful, thank you! What sources do you use to find language learning resources? You always share such gems :)
Thank you for sharing so many excellent resources!
I can do it but only for a second I can’t hold it 😭
*promo sm* 😌
Voice problem, the sound is too low.
Hmm. Well I might just check this one out.😊
Exactly what I've been looking for!
Nes i fwynhau Duolingo Cymraeg. Roedd yn gyflwyniad da i’r iaith, ac wnes i ddysgu lawer. Fodd bynnag, do'n i ddim isio talu amdano, ac felly o'n i'n casáu'r 'Hearts'! Yn y diwedd, nes i ei fwynhau, ond o'n i'n hapus i orffen ac i fynd ymlaen i bethau eraill.
What do you think that isn't a boot
i have a problem because someone told me you can only be fluent in 3-5 languages and i speak 2 nativly and it just leavs me with 3 but i want to learn like 5-7 more so i am sad (the languages i want to learn are russian french italian ukrainian estonian and maybe norwegian and irish)
Someone told you that and you just believed it?
@@iamnotfromaustralia9150 sort of it seams beliveble but how many do u think someone can learn
i just study 1h a day but on weekends i just do duolingo or a notes revew
I liked this video. It's very concise and informative. However, I think the audio level is quite low. If you turned it up a bit, it'd be more enjoyable!
How can i use this in real dulingo exam
Still can't do it 😢
Me either.
When I blow either my tongue doesn't move at all, or just goes forward and not back, doesn't vibrate
Yes same problem here 😢
Me to
Brava e complimenti! Non preoccuparti troppo del Passato Remoto, non è essenziale.
Nope. No rolling when I blow out air.
Thara Bhai Joginder learned from this video 🙋♀️
Thank you for your channel and poems. Wondering if it would be possible to put the sub-titles up closer to the Italian. That would make it easier to read both, I think. And just a couple of corrections: With tribu (accent over the u), the emphasis is on the second syllable. And with sbagliano, the emphasis is on the first syllable. Thank you.
Italy 🇮🇹 is shaped like a boot
I am Welsh Italian but i speak English and Spanish 😊 😂
hi! Interesting choice but its tough to hear, make the audio a bit louder if possible on the next one!
No sound
I can't say padre in spanish with the rolled R's, but I can roll my R's with certain words like permaneces. It doesn't make sense to me
this is probably because of the sound before or after. in padre it's an 'a' in which your tongue is at the bottom of your mouth but in permaneces the 'e' is already quite close to where you need it to be for the rolled r!
for me the difficult sounds are ''ree'' and ''reh", not spanish though in my case
This is how I use the Legendary lessons- I repeat lessons for practice until they’re comfortable. Then I try the legendary. They are hard. So I do as much of it as is comfortable - maybe only getting 1/3 or 1/2 way. Then I log out of it and try again another time. I use free Duolingo along with other sources like You Tube videos and on line translators. I appreciate that Duolingo still offers free learning at a time when everyone and everything is charging. Maybe this reply will help someone. Good luck guys
as a welsh learner, ive found the duolingo welsh course kinda confusing sometimes it mixes dialects and doesnt really tell you how patterns work, instead just expecting you to find that out yourself i would say its more helpful for refreshing or learning vocab but not for like grammar and stuff
This is a can of worms because what you're actually doing is trilling a /d/ consonant. The IPA chose to assign the 'R' symbol to the Trilled D, so we call it "R". This is because more languages use the symbol for that sound than for the 'er' sound that English has. In General American English and most English accents the IPA symbol is apparently /ɹ/ but the Clowns in charge want to keep calling it a consonant despite it having all the attributes and functionality of a vowel. I don't like Clowns. I reject the Clowns and call it a vowel. You can give a D-trill a single symbol but that seems to be a denial of what the sound truly is. The more logical symbol would be a /d/ with a diacritic indicating that it is trilled for a short or a long time.
no audio
Thank you for this. I can now just ignore those prompts without guilt.😊
Round the rugged rocks the ragged rascal ran!
I've always found it very easy. But then I'm know for having a lovely Rs!
ESTA BUENA LA VIEJA JAJAJA
😂❤
