Howdy guys. Can i ask what type of camera/stick/gimbal combo you use please? Nod, you seem very comfortable with it and it shows in your filming style - its like an extension to your arm, impressive 💪

@@nodanddeb wow, you must have a steady hand then mate! I'm afraid I'm not on Instagram sadly. I just bought a Hohem iSteady Q for £40 from Amazon last week. It's a very basic tripod/selfie stick but with a few jazzy single axis motor movements that I'm trying to get used to. Going to Cyprus next week and hoping to do some vids of Ayia Napa. I'm only 4 videos in to the vlogging malarky so very much a novice. Gotta start small right 👌

@@chrisdodd2596 haven’t got a steady hand at all mate, but my camera does have electronic image stabilisation😁 I’ve been in front of a camera for yrs in one way shape or form so putting a camera in my face for vlogging isn’t that hard for me, Deb finds it a little bit harder but enjoys it anyway, and I love editing so it all just works, Deb takes care of the social media side like instagram and TikTok… As for just starting out, our first few vlogs will never see the light of day but now it’s easy just to pick up the camera and go, but we have been doing this for nearly 2yrs now so just keep going as long as u enjoy it (it can can get quite addictive tho😁) I am no expert by any means but if I can help or u have any question pls just let us know and I will try my best☀️

@@nodanddeb it's already addictive tbh. It's become quite a consuming hobby but I really enjoy it. Half the time I watch a video now I'm looking out for transitions, b-roll usage, angles being used, what type of music being used, types of mics (already on my 2nd set, 1st set were bab 😂). Add to that, the logistics of editing with various storage limits being hit (Google/Canva editing etc), intros, outros...the level of thought required is endless but I've got a steady handle so far I think. I work with IT but all this is completely new - and great fun! I'm ready to go more in front of the camera, the missus is getting there slowly - hopefully on the holiday when she's more relaxed 🤞 What would be your top tips please Nod? For a starter? Just like things that I should deffo focus on as a beginner (we learn from our mistakes right?) I'm trying to avoid watching all those tip channels out there as some will say something is black and others will say something is white...if you know what I mean, they contradict each other a lot. @@chrisdodd2596 there is a lot to remember but once u have done it for a while it just becomes second nature, I’ve just been editing this week for the first time in 3 months and it’s like I’ve never been away from it… I use T7 ssd drives for my back ups then I can edit my footage when I get back home whenever I have the time… The most important tip I can give u for me is to be urself and remember why u r doing it… we started the channel mainly for our own memories for when we r older so with us what u see is whet u get, always try to be positive but more importantly always be honest… Like I said I will always help if I can. We got lots of help when we started so I know what it’s like, I still ask for help from certain ppl now that we have met thru here and most r always there to help☀️

@@soulsbornepgamingchannel3755 every time we go I try to go to Siam water park but with Deb only having one working arm it’s not fair on her… we did the Tiede by night tour, u get the coach to the top with a 3 course meal on the way, glass of champagne (Prosecco) to watch the sunset from above the clouds followed by a full tour of the stars by an awesome astronomer… we really wanna do that again ✨☀️

Beautiful Hotel been on numerous times with my husband ,going back this October . Just at the side of the gym is another set of lifts which take you up to the resturants ,so there is more than one entrance .

Hi Nod, Myself and Lynne were at the Sandos Papagayo when this was filmed. We were there from 11th January to 8th February 2024 for one month and back again from 27th April to 18th May 2024 (three weeks), this would have been our seventh visit to the Hotel. I can see the two sunbeds at 26:10 that we used and as you walk back from the nine-hole Golf course at 27:20, myself walking left-to-right. We upgraded to Royal Elite option and what a difference it makes. We have met people there who have been x-amount of times previously and people who have arrived for the first time and would return. We will be going back on January 2025.

We stayed there 11 years ago but it was called te Varadero, definitely that same hotel. Food, drink, grounds, staff and entertainment all good, room was awful then. Ants all over it and sweat stains all over the sofa bed. One thing i remember about it was the outside bar was self service oh the shorts, which we enjoyed.

@@tazzatamania hi Steve, the housekeeping staff must have changed as the rooms were really clean. The only issue we found was the the one that we were in was on the front street and the smell for the drains could get a bit rough… but can’t blame the hotel for that😊☀️

@@nodanddeb it was a Barcelo back then so it's been taken over and modernised by the looks of it. Everything about it was nice except for the rooms. We're going back to the Canaries somewhere in November so since the rooms have been improved, I might give it another go, thanks.

@@nodanddeb We went to Adeje the last time we went to Tenerife for much the same reasons as yourselves but unfortunately the food in the hotel wasn't great, the Playa Olid. Loved Adeje and have one of the best memories of anywhere whilst watching a Rockabilly band in a bar near Duque Beach. Keep up the lovely reviews.

@@xImogenxGracex nothing too bad, I was really poorly but we had arranged to go out with our best friends for Debs birthday and I passed out at the table in the restaurant🤦♂️ Ended up on medication for pneumonia, which is why we booked the holiday with 2 days notice as we didn’t know if I would be well enuf to travel… all good now tho☀️

Hiya I have some advice for deb about the plane anxiety: 1. Distractions - buy books/puzzle books/watch films etc 2. Techniques - 5,4,3,2,1 technique - 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, 1 thing you can taste. 3. Breathing - close your eyes and focus on your breathing. It doesn’t have to be deep breaths, but that may help some. Focus on how your chest rises and falls and breathe slowly. 4. Change your mindset - that nervous/anxious feeling is the same feeling as excitement. Switch the way you look at it! Hope this helps! Love your vids ❤

I'm ready to go more in front of the camera, the missus is getting there slowly - hopefully on the holiday when she's more relaxed 🤞 What would be your top tips please Nod? For a starter? Just like things that I should deffo focus on as a beginner (we learn from our mistakes right?) I'm trying to avoid watching all those tip channels out there as some will say something is black and others will say something is white...if you know what I mean, they contradict each other a lot. @@chrisdodd2596 there is a lot to remember but once u have done it for a while it just becomes second nature, I’ve just been editing this week for the first time in 3 months and it’s like I’ve never been away from it… I use T7 ssd drives for my back ups then I can edit my footage when I get back home whenever I have the time… The most important tip I can give u for me is to be urself and remember why u r doing it… we started the channel mainly for our own memories for when we r older so with us what u see is whet u get, always try to be positive but more importantly always be honest… Like I said I will always help if I can. We got lots of help when we started so I know what it’s like, I still ask for help from certain ppl now that we have met thru here and most r always there to help☀️

@@soulsbornepgamingchannel3755 every time we go I try to go to Siam water park but with Deb only having one working arm it’s not fair on her… we did the Tiede by night tour, u get the coach to the top with a 3 course meal on the way, glass of champagne (Prosecco) to watch the sunset from above the clouds followed by a full tour of the stars by an awesome astronomer… we really wanna do that again ✨☀️
Stayed at this hotel a few years ago. Loved watching these vlogs bringing back some really happy memories. Keep up the good work!

Beautiful Hotel been on numerous times with my husband ,going back this October . Just at the side of the gym is another set of lifts which take you up to the resturants ,so there is more than one entrance .
@@DawnConnolly-y2k hi Dawn… We have never been to the same hotel twice but might just have to make an exception so we can find these lifts that I missed😁 Not that we r going to need much of an excuse cos we loved this hotel… and we all know u will have a fab time in October☀️

Hi Nod, Myself and Lynne were at the Sandos Papagayo when this was filmed. We were there from 11th January to 8th February 2024 for one month and back again from 27th April to 18th May 2024 (three weeks), this would have been our seventh visit to the Hotel. I can see the two sunbeds at 26:10 that we used and as you walk back from the nine-hole Golf course at 27:20, myself walking left-to-right. We upgraded to Royal Elite option and what a difference it makes. We have met people there who have been x-amount of times previously and people who have arrived for the first time and would return. We will be going back on January 2025.

@@louisewarnock6945 hi Louise, u should receive a card that enables u to get ur beach towels, but make sure u hand it back at the end of ur stay or they will charge u… We always take our own anyway so we r sure which ones r ours as I’ve heard stories about ppl swapping the hotel ones☀️

We stayed there 11 years ago but it was called te Varadero, definitely that same hotel. Food, drink, grounds, staff and entertainment all good, room was awful then. Ants all over it and sweat stains all over the sofa bed. One thing i remember about it was the outside bar was self service oh the shorts, which we enjoyed.
@@tazzatamania hi Steve, the housekeeping staff must have changed as the rooms were really clean. The only issue we found was the the one that we were in was on the front street and the smell for the drains could get a bit rough… but can’t blame the hotel for that😊☀️
@@nodanddeb it was a Barcelo back then so it's been taken over and modernised by the looks of it. Everything about it was nice except for the rooms. We're going back to the Canaries somewhere in November so since the rooms have been improved, I might give it another go, thanks.

@@nodanddeb We went to Adeje the last time we went to Tenerife for much the same reasons as yourselves but unfortunately the food in the hotel wasn't great, the Playa Olid. Loved Adeje and have one of the best memories of anywhere whilst watching a Rockabilly band in a bar near Duque Beach. Keep up the lovely reviews.

@@xImogenxGracex nothing too bad, I was really poorly but we had arranged to go out with our best friends for Debs birthday and I passed out at the table in the restaurant🤦♂️ Ended up on medication for pneumonia, which is why we booked the holiday with 2 days notice as we didn’t know if I would be well enuf to travel… all good now tho☀️

Hiya I have some advice for deb about the plane anxiety: 1. Distractions - buy books/puzzle books/watch films etc 2. Techniques - 5,4,3,2,1 technique - 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, 1 thing you can taste. 3. Breathing - close your eyes and focus on your breathing. It doesn’t have to be deep breaths, but that may help some. Focus on how your chest rises and falls and breathe slowly. 4. Change your mindset - that nervous/anxious feeling is the same feeling as excitement. Switch the way you look at it! Hope this helps! Love your vids ❤

Great distraction for me. I use to be fine but sometimes I’m not so good. I just try keep my brain as busy as I can to distract me xxx

Tui from Newcastle are great on the dreamliner...drinks trolley comes round a few times..really friendly staff and the best bit,your near home when you fly back and not hours away
