It seems that once the locs are taken out, the client, almost always, cut their hair shortly thereafter.

@@anthonywilliams3822 I didn’t have to cut mine but before combing them out, cutting was my first option. I just was curious as to how long it grew. Long hair is very high maintenance when taking care of a newborn child.

Took me about 2 months to comb out my locs (took about an hour each but I had about 80 thick locs) and if anyone is worried about retaining length or thickness in hair, your hair will be fine I promise. Mine was thicker than it's ever been thanks to the process and the was Tiana says we should comb through it

I didn’t get locs intentionally, i haven’t been taking care of it cause of personal problems. I’ve been calling black hair stylists and they’re saying they can’t do it so maybe i’ll have to take it into my own hands with this video 😔

@@elisabethisrael4087 the shrinkage is so real tho! It might be more than you think but I feel you 😂. If the knots are high I would let it grow out and then try. If you’re just ready for a change as far as your hair goes, cutting them off would be liberating! You’d also have the option to reattach them if you change your mind. You have some options!

@@WilliamHurt-p4r I didn’t have any double headed dragons so I don’t have that answer. I would think you would still salvage hair but I think more would break off than a single loc, especially if there is damage in the middle. I would cut it above where it splits and then try to comb it out.

Once I learn the tricks to get them to last along with the ins and outs of applying them then maybe another video could come out of that. There are hundreds of other lash videos tho.

OMG, I recently thought about cutting my locs. My daughter’s father passed away last year and my hair was locked during his passing. Although they have grown tremendously ( I’m waist length 5 years in) I need that change and the weight gone. I’m so happy I ran across this.

This video helped me a lot. I’ve been debating for a while about combing them out, but I’ve had some pretty bad relationships during my time having locs. And I think they’ve sort of just become associated with all these people that haven’t been good for me in my life. Something they always would compliment me on and looking back I hate how attached my hair has become as a part of what makes me considered good looking.

I’m taking my lock out this summer and OMG I’m so excited. I watch this video just so I know what to expect when I’m at the hairstylist and now I know that the girl that’s taking up my hair she will need to get it really wet and I hope she knows that because I’m 10 years old and I’m not trying to lose a lot of hair because I’m going into sixth grade, and I ain’t trying to get bullied bro

How long have you had your locs? You will lose the hair you weren’t able to shed while your hair was loc’d but it should be ok, shedding is totally normal even for loose hair. You’ll have to make sure your hair is really moisturized once they are combed out. Also don’t pay attention to what ppl say. Good luck with middle school!
