One of the best new wave albums of all time and I played both sides uninterrupted. I wish they had played the whole Freedom of Choice, but appreciated they played Snowball, which is a deep cut on the album. Loved Gates of Steel.

One of the finest from our beloved Ohio....not sure if they were drinking from the Cuyahoga River, or what. Loved Whip It, Through Being Cool, many others.

6:40 how can they play Uncontrollable Urge at that speed?! I'm a drummer and I already admire Alan Myers, however I didn't expect this song to be able to be played by ANY drummer at this speed!!

I’m 14 and I started listening to them a few months ago, somewhere around late 2023, and I’ve been telling my friends all about them. Some of my punk-loving friends like them, some of my friends who like weirder goofy music like them. It’s really true that they’ve got something for everybody!! :D

Every time I watch these old vids with Bob and Alan on the drums I tear up at the loss we all have with them gone! The guitar work and drumming are to be envied! And folks do not call them a Rock band! Watch and listen the guitar work and sound!

The Duty Now for the Future period of Devo is definitely my favorite - musically inventive, not one shred of pop music normality. I'm so glad I saw this tour before all the WhipIt poppiness took over the spirit of the band....

Can you imagine how shocking this band was when this came out? We were saturated with corporate, formulaic rock bands (Eagles, Doobie brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Jimmy Buffett, etc.). This New Wave music, along with Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, B-52s, Blondie, etc.) were a rebellion against what had come before.
