You can also replace the stones when they wear out. They're 13 or 15$ each even for the ceramic. And yes you can almost mirror the edge with the ceramic stone with a few extra passes. Ive outgrown the angle guides myself and i couple this system with Bark River CBN compounds to get a full blown mirror edge on my blades. 4 micron (4,000 grit), 2 micron (8,000 grit), 1 micron (16,000), and 0.5 micron (32,000 grit) After you use the blade for a bit, hit it on the ceramic a few times and then strop. Im currently on week 3 using only the ceramic and the strops, and my edge is holding out really Awesome.

Nice little knife, looks like a good slicer. I'm seeing more blades with the 80crv2 steel lately, been picking up some Tkell knives. I keep meaning to find someone who can make a deep carry pocket kydex sheath for some of my small fixies that mimic's the Mako leather sheath. I like the taco sheaths but they leave the whole handle of the knife sticking out of your pocket and if you use one of the long ulti-clips to sink the knife deeper into the pocket you have to be extremely careful, using two hands, to draw and resheathe the blade without cutting your pants. A deep pocket taco sheath with an ulti-clip and a long entrance tube to guide the blade for single hand use would be ideal. I've been meaning to contact the guy at the 5 Minute Knives channel about getting sheathes like that made. He does some nice work and has some interesting content.

The GK is ok if you only intend to do the occasional notch as far as carving goes. On the other hand the GK has a studier tip, making it handier as a pointy thing you have in the toolbox.
