tbh, if it were possible to squeeze more power out of the 3 cylinder turbos without causing problems, i'd surely choose them over 4 bangers...no 4 banger will ever sound this good, and it's surprising how these little 3 cylinders sound similar to its I6 and v6 predecessors...
