Nice one. You can do that.
Crazy cool
Thank you 😊
WOW!!!!
Glad you liked it
Simply Good Marhs Tricks
Thank you very much my friend. You made my day
Hmmmmm...... That Is a smart one
Thank you
Good one
Thank you! Cheers!
You've got a problem from the beginning. 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/9 ~ 0.94 < 1. That is where you problem begin because the sum of 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/9 should have been 1 (no matter however constituted) then there would be no extra cow to be taken back by the "wise man" because 1 - 0.94 = 0.6 would have been distributed (presumably in proportion of 1/2, 1/3 & 1/9) to all the sons
You are so correct my friend. All the fractions not adding upto 1. Really good detailed analysis. Very well done.
Since 1 cow is taken back , S1 will get 8 , S2 will get 5 & S3 will get 1 ( 8+5+1 =14 ) so the remaining 3 Cows will be given to each of the 3 sons ???😁😁😁( good joke ?)
Nice one. Buy 1 cow is not taken back from each son. One just left after distribution which was added on the first place.
Or sons fight for the cows.😂
Good idea. But think if they can distribute cows without any fight. Any idea??
First, the subscribe music is annoying. I would change that. Second, the sun of the fractions is 1/18 less than 1 whole. So that’s how the borrowed cow comes in. The neighbor inserts himself into the inheritance by receiving 1/18 and getting his one cow back.
Hi Scott, Thanks for pointing out towards Subscribers music. I agree. I am using better version in new videos. Very good analysis of the question. Agree totally. Very well done.
Son #3 really got shafted. He should have gotten 1 8/9 of a cow, but ended up with only one. Son #1 came out half a cow ahead, and #2 gained 1/3 of a cow. But apparently #3 son was wasn't very bright, which let the mathematician pull the wool over his eyes.
Nice analysis. Very detailed. Good on you. Son 1 is getting 2 cows in our solution though.
"Give two cows to your sister. Then you three have five each, and must support her"
Very well said. But farmer doesn't have daughter. So needs to be divided amongst 3 sons only and also in given fraction ratios.
@@Mathscantbehard Boo! They should have had an unmentioned sister - would have been more 'equitable' :-)
Agree. Unmentioned sister can surely help in dividing cows. Still all sons not getting same cows so what to do about that?
@@Mathscantbehard Disagree. In my scenario, all three boys get five cows each. Sister only gets two, but the brothers are obligated to look after her.
Agree brother should look after sister.
If the father had had 18 cows, that would have revealed the fault in the shares. 😂 They could have shared the cows perfectly, but then there would have been one cow left, which is the missing 1/18 part in the will. 😅
Very well done. So correct.
9. 6. 2
Well done. But how?? As half of 17 is not 9
It is a deceptive problem because the will's distribution percentages do not total 100%
That's true. Agree totally.
Unfair.
Agree my friend. But it's just puzzle.
OMG! Terrence Howard was right!!!
What did Terrence say John??
@@Mathscantbehard Sorry. My poor attempt at humor. I was referring to all the attention Terrence is getting after his Joe Rogan interview based on his 1*1=2 BS. Your vid was thought provoking. It just provoked it into my brain's goofy zone. I was imagining how Terrence would explain it in his Terryology math.
Now I got it. Agree totally. Creative and analytical thinking is mental exercise and makes our brain more active. Thank you for watching and participating. Have a wonderful day ahead my friend John.
very nice! I collect puzzles like this one, anyone willing to share? the school where my kids went, parents had to participate in an academic activity, I taught 5th graders puzzles like this, they were so exited, they would often meet met at the gate, they couldn't wait
Excellent. Next video will also be wonderful puzzle like this.
@@Mathscantbehard bring 'em on!
Surely will do. Thanks my friend
Please kindly visit playlist of my channel with the name Maths Puzzle and there is another wonderful Maths puzzle already there.
@@Mathscantbehard thanks
It's a trick question because half plus third plus ninth doesn't add up to 100%. Say 50%, 33% and 11% (roughly) only adds up to 94%.
I agree. Good job. But still how to divide in given fractions
@@Mathscantbehard The extra cow makes it up to 100%.
@@MathscantbehardIf you add up the fractions, the common denominator is 18, that's where the 18 comes from. And the sons receive actually a little bit higher portions, than what was stated in the will: 9/17 instead of 9/18 (1/2), 6/17 instead of 6/18 (1/3) and 2/17 instead of 2/18 (1/9). In percentages it would be like 52.9% instead of 50%, 35.3% instead of 33.3% and 11.8% instead of 11.1%.
Well done. Bravo. So correct. Agree totally. So detailed analysis. And so correct as well.
@ patrick Well done. We have considered 18 cows as 100% while dividing. Agree totally with you.
Simple. Each kid gets 5 cows. The remaining two cows are butchered and the meat is divided equally among the three kids.
That's only 11. The question says 17. And you can't cut any.
Cow needs to be divided in whole
So true
@@patrickcorliss8878 Egads! I blew it! I'm making a revision right now. Thanks for pointing it out.
@@Mathscantbehard Maybe for your kids. Not for mine.
Very impressive, t/y.
Thank you my friend. Have a wonderful day ahead 😊
Ask that mathematician next village what would have happened if he had 18 cows to begin with.
Very good question my friend. But if there are 18 cows then we can divide them in given ratios without much problem as 18 is divisible by 2, 3 and 9.
@@Mathscantbehard Yes, sure but a cow will be left behind. Who will take it?
I'm not trolling, by the way. The problem is that 1/2+1/3+1/9 is not a whole and cannot be used to divide inheritance.
I agree totally. You are absolutely right.
Yes fractions don't add up to 1. I agree. Can't be used for real situations.
6+6+5= 17
Thanks John. Good try. But cows need to be distributed in given fraction ratios.
I learn so much from all your videos!
Thank you very much my friend. You made my day.
From which country are you?

For heavens sake, why would anyone want to watch a video from someone so careless as to write "amazinng" in the title and thumbnail? It does your credibility no good at all.
Thank you very much my friend Robert for letting me know my mistake. I have corrected. Thanks again and have a wonderful day my friend 😊
@@Mathscantbehard Good work. I wish you well.
Thanks my friend Robert.
Why would anyone want to criticize a math genius over such a small mistake!!
Constructive criticism helps me to be better. It's all good my friend. Have a wonderful day ahead 😊
How would solve 11×12×13×14×15? Using base method
You can multiply 14 × 15 and 12 ×13 separately by using base method. The answers you can multiply by criss cross method. That final answer you can multiply with 11 by using multiplication trick of 11.
I dont like this. Method
Thank you for your honest response. Surely we all can have different preferences. Please kindly use the method you are more comfortable with.
