    How to find out which ear is the problem, the right ear or the left ear?

  • @kinetichealthonline
    @kinetichealthonline3 күн бұрын

    Hello, thanks for watching. Unfortunately, I cannot provide advice or comment on specific cases without performing a physical examination. However, in general, when using the half somersault maneuver for BPPV, you can determine which ear is affected based on which side produces vertigo symptoms when the maneuver is performed. If you experience vertigo when your head is turned to the right, it suggests the right ear is affected, and if vertigo occurs when turning to the left, it suggests the left ear is affected. Always consult with a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis.

    Isn't shoulders "back and down" a bad cue? I can understand why you'd bring your shoulders back, but I don't understand why you'd bring them down since this can decrease the costoclavicular space and limit your mobility

  • @kinetichealthonline
    @kinetichealthonline3 күн бұрын

    Hello, thanks for watching. Actually, bringing the shoulders back and down will not decrease the costoclavicular space to the point where you have to worry about it. When we refer to bringing the shoulders 'back and down,' it's important to understand the context. The purpose is to counteract the forward, rounded posture many people develop from activities like working at a desk or using a computer. This forward posture can cause significant stress on the shoulders, elbows, and hands. By bringing the shoulders back and down, we aim to achieve an anatomically neutral position, which helps to reduce tension and strain. In the video, I demonstrated how to activate the scapulae properly, emphasizing that this movement should be done without excessively engaging the latissimus dorsi or upper trapezius muscles. This technique does not significantly reduce the costoclavicular space and helps improve overall shoulder mobility and function.

  • @kinetichealthonline

    Hello @pam7533, Thank you for watching! The Spleen 10 point, also known as Xuehai, is located on the inner thigh, about two fingers' width above the top of the kneecap (patella) and slightly towards the inside of the leg. To find it, place your hand on your knee, then slide up about two fingers' width, and you should feel a tender spot when pressing. This is the area to massage. I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions! Best Dr. Brian Abelson DC

    I have been having spasms in this nerve and also the peroneal nerve for almost 1 yr now. Also, on my right foot, all 4 toes *excl hallux will begin to curl/spasm. If i move my foot a certain way either if im sitting or laying down, my foot will begin spasming and curling in. Its extremely painful and I usually get up and put my foot flat on the floor and walk until it releases. Lately, when my foot begins to spasm/curl inward, I force it to curl even more extreme and it releases. It used to be unbearably painful. Then when the spasm releases, i continue stretching that foot by pointing the toe till i can't stretch it anymore and stretching my foot by walking on the side of my foot. I have been able to decrease the pain level and now i have less spasms. I love these stretches in this video and I will incorporate them into my routine! Thanks!! PS I have been to a few Drs who haven't found anything wrong. I had x-rays and MRIs but nothing. I also drink electrolyte drinks so it's not that. I used to be a ballet dancer so maybe that has something to do with it... not sure.

    Thank you for sharing! Can you recommend anyone in the Denver area? I can barely walk. Had to quit my job. These doctors are a joke they all want to do more hip surgeries and im pretty confident its not even my hip! Looking at a picture of the femoral nerve, that is exactly where it hurts. Low back, wrapping around over the hip, down the inside of my quad, and my big toe is always tender too. Sitting gets it really irritated then walking and trying to stretch makes it even worse. Im close to being bedridden except i cant even lay in bed anymore the pain just wont stop. Been a 25yr battle and nothing helps.

    Hello @amaka8086, Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear about the pain you’re experiencing. Unfortunately, we currently do not have anyone trained in Motion Specific Release (MSR) in the UK. However, we are planning to offer a course there next year, which should increase the availability of MSR-trained practitioners. Our clinic, Kinetic Health, is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In the meantime, I recommend checking out the Active Release Techniques (ART) website to see if they have certified practitioners in your area. While their procedures differ from ours, they may be able to provide the relief you need. I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions. I wish I have had this information when I wasn't 17. I was already developing the hump but didn't know how to fix it. I talked to doctors and they didn't even know anything about it. KZread and Google didn't exist. This problem caused me a huge depression in my 20s knowing that there is nothing that can be done. Now seeing this. It's so easily preventable. This should be taught in school. I still wish I could reverse it. It's probably not going to work anymore because it has become structural but I'm still going to try these exercises.

    Hello @jd348, Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience. I understand how frustrating and disheartening it can be to deal with such issues without adequate information or support. Unfortunately, I cannot provide specific advice or comment on individual cases without performing a physical examination. However, while it can be challenging to address structural changes, it's never too late to work on improving your posture and overall spinal health. The exercises in our video are designed to help with mobility, strength, and posture. Consistency and patience are key, and you might see gradual improvements over time. Additionally, I encourage you to consult with a healthcare professional or physical therapist who can provide personalized guidance based on your specific condition. They can offer targeted exercises and treatments that might be more effective for your situation.

    Should a podiatrist or chiropractor do this?

  • @kinetichealthonline
    @kinetichealthonline23 күн бұрын

    Thank you for your question, @kylieg5909! Both podiatrists and chiropractors are well-suited to treat bunions, each from their unique professional perspectives. Podiatrists focus on foot-specific issues, while chiropractors, physiotherapists, and RMTs can address broader biomechanical and musculoskeletal factors through techniques like MSR. Our MSR courses welcome all these professionals to broaden their treatment capabilities. Cheers!

    Is it advisable to do this multiple times per day or is that too much?

  • @kinetichealthonline
    @kinetichealthonline23 күн бұрын

    Hello @marcabbink2772, thank you for watching and for your question! While I cannot provide specific advice without a physical examination, self myofascial release of the glutes can typically be done multiple times per day. It is important to listen to your body and adjust the frequency and pressure accordingly. Start with moderation, and if you experience any severe pain, it's crucial to stop and consult a healthcare professional. This will help ensure that you are using the technique safely and effectively.

    I really need to go and get this done because I'm having pressure in my ear this trapping water in my ear and now I'm having light vertigo while I'm walking around. And I've read that a lot of that is coming from that. It's so annoying

    Hello @d_no_allyn_86, thank you for your comment and for watching the video. While SCM release techniques can offer relief for various symptoms, it's important to be cautious with symptoms like ear pressure and vertigo. These could potentially indicate other underlying issues. Since you're experiencing persistent symptoms, I strongly recommend consulting a healthcare professional for a thorough examination to accurately diagnose and address your concerns. It's essential to ensure that any treatment you pursue is both safe and appropriate for your specific situation.

    Can an chiropractor perform this technique or would this be done by a physical therapist?

  • @kinetichealthonline
    @kinetichealthonline23 күн бұрын

    Hello @savannahduvall7, thank you for your interest in the video! Yes, chiropractors are qualified to perform peroneal nerve release techniques, especially those trained in MSR (Motion Specific Release). Physical therapists can also perform this technique. Both professions have the necessary training to address issues related to nerve entrapments through manual therapy. Always ensure that the practitioner you choose has the appropriate training and experience with nerve release procedures.

    Thank you for this video. It was very interesting how to access the DFL. I observed that she was in great pain for the legs and hip area. Does this pain signal adhesion or something else? Are you are applying great pressure to reach the deep line or it is a technique for releasing fascia? Or the strength depends on the depth you want to reach? Do you maybe know if the DFL is connected to the tongue? Or if tongue movement affects the DFL? Thank you again for the good content! 🙏

    Hello @nagyvero23, thank you for your thoughtful questions and I'm glad you found the video interesting! Addressing your questions: 1. Pain in the legs and hip area: The pain observed could be due to several factors including adhesions, tension, or compensations in other parts of the fascial network. It's essential to assess each case individually to determine the exact cause. 2. Application of pressure: The pressure applied during fascial release varies depending on the specific technique used and the desired depth of engagement with the fascia. The goal is to mobilize the fascia effectively without causing undue discomfort. 3. Connection to the tongue: The deep front line, as a comprehensive fascial pathway, does connect indirectly to many areas of the body, including impacts around the area of the tongue and neck due to its extensive connectivity. However, direct connections between the DFL and tongue movements are more about influence rather than direct anatomical pathways. Movements of the tongue can affect fascial tension and postural alignment, which might impact the DFL indirectly. Always consult with a qualified professional to apply these techniques safely and effectively based on your specific needs. Thank you for engaging with our content!

    how long (on average) post concussion will someone stop having nsystagmus following a pen to the peripheral?

  • @kinetichealthonline
    @kinetichealthonline23 күн бұрын

    Hello @TomCTHC, thank you for your question. The duration of nystagmus post-concussion can vary widely depending on the severity of the injury and individual healing processes. Typically, nystagmus resulting from concussion resolves as the brain recovers, but this can take anywhere from a few days to several months. If nystagmus persists or is accompanied by other symptoms like dizziness or balance issues, it's important to seek professional medical evaluation to ensure appropriate management and rehabilitation. Always ensure that any continued symptoms following a concussion are closely monitored by healthcare professionals. Thank you for engaging with our content!
