You need professional help on this project. It is going to take you forever, if ever, to complete this. Also, it is very dangerous the way you work out there.

You are right. It would definitely take forever for 2 guys to restore it. We had to secure funding for the project. We are building a jack up barge to get people and equipment safely out there and putting together a team to finish it. Keep watching to see it get done!

I've seen a picture of a Chesapeake Bay lighthouse which the caisson failed on it. The lighthouse was a sparkplug pattern, rather like the Hooper Island light, andwas tilted about 20-30 degrees. Unsurprisingly, that lighthouse is still owned by the Feds.

We definitely considered it. It works fine the way it is. We can loosen the clamp if we want to turn it but that isn’t necessary for our use. How would you have attached it at the bottom? Quickly with what you can bring out there right away. Remember we will be replacing it with a fill electric davit crane that turns AT THE TOP and is fixed at the bottom. Also, what song would you have picked? You may not know that you can’t use any copyrighted music in a KZread video. We love the music. Maybe we really are psychopaths 😂

I see what surely has to be a hazmat nightmare. All of that paint has to be lead based. It would cost a fortune to "clean it up". Fantastic architecture and location, but a money pit for sure.

It is no different than any old house except for how difficult it is to get things and people out there. It’s a money pit because of the difficulty, but not any special hazmat nightmare.

Cool lighthouse! I am a commercial clammer in NJ. We use a 12 volt electric pot hauler to pick up our clam rakes full of clams. I have an electra-dyne pot hauler that uses a Boston Gear box attached to a 12 volt motor. Hamilton Marine also sells them. I have a 30 to 1 gear box on mine and it will pick up 25 to 40 pound anchors with no problem, would work well to lift stuff off of the boat..

The first thing you should have moved out there is a welder, metal, and preserving paint. Honestly the place looks too small. I would have sought the right to expand it somehow. I'd build a barge for transporting and storing material and tools. Maybe build a makeshift elevator of some sort.
