I have been renting one apartment to the same lady on SSI for over 10 years. Never had any serious issues. Get payments regularly, rent increase also regularly. Can't complain. On the other hand, a was renting out the house with 4 bedrooms, and there were many callers with section8. I refused to rent to large families whose financial situation can change from time to time, like in your case.

Meanwhile in Europe the gas prices skyrocket and almost every new building use heat pumps. People can't afford heating so the Hungarian government has to pay most part of the heating bills. The heating aid even became a political propaganda. Crazy to see that overseas its still cheap.

Painting over wallpaper is not the worst thing someone can do. An older houses you take that wallpaper off and you'll be patching for days. Which, if you've got the time, is 100% preferable. But not everyone can make a project out if it.

I might have asked this before but I'm so confused about how much section 8 will really pay a landlord. For Hartford 06120 area code I have a 4 bed apartment for example. Online Hud FMR for says $1960. Hartford Housing authority payment standard says $2352 including utilities. So what will a landlord get paid? All utilities except water are usually paid by tenant.

@@ruizesparzarealestate3107 Thanks! Is that including utilities or tenant pay their own? I have a property that tenants pay below market rent and have been there forever. It can do with some renovation updates but everything is in good working order. I'm thinking of putting in some money and then doing section 8 which I never did before. But I might wait for tenant turnover. Then again I don't think anyone will move with such low rents. Thanks for what you shared. All those numbers are confusing to me.

Man, this is gonna be a long comment! Despite me being a Stratford resident, I visit this city a lot! One of my favorite things about Bridgeport is the sports, since I love sports! It has plenty of things! A newer collegiate baseball team from the CCBL (Connecticut Collegiate Baseball League) plays in Seaside Park! This team is known as the Bridgeport Barnums. Also, there are a few NCAA sports not just in Bridgeport, but the area! There’s D2 with the University Of Bridgeport Purple Knights, and there’s D1 with 2 teams just outside of the city. They are the Fairfield University Stags and the Sacred Heart University Pioneers. Sacred Heart is actually my dream college after graduating high school! Then, there are no actual pro sports in Bridgeport, but there’s some minor league teams affiliated with them! Next year, there will be a minor league soccer team, Connecticut United FC, that will play in a soccer stadium being built on the river as part of a redevelopment project! The team will be part of MLS Next Pro, the minor league for MLS (Major League Soccer). Then, there’s the New York Islanders’ AHL farm team, the Bridgeport Islanders! I go to their games a lot! Finally, in that new women’s hockey league, the PWHL, one of its 6 current teams even though there will probably be more in the future, PWHL New York, calls the arena that the Islanders play in one of their 2 official homes! The other one is UBS Arena in Elmont NY, just outside of Queens, which is where the real Islanders play. They also do occasional home games at Prudential Center in Newark NJ, home of the Devils! In addition, on a separate topic, I am understanding these real estate topics a lot more since I am taking Personal Finance at school! My uncle is actually a real estate agent! It’s actually one of Connecticut’s biggest industries!

Bridgeport isn’t really that historic nor touristy of a city. Most US cities have at least a good amount of colleges. Bridgeport has only like a few. They have Connecticut State Community College Housatonic, Fairfield University, Sacred Heart University, and University Of Bridgeport. Fairfield and Sacred Heart are located in Fairfield, but just outside of the city.

While I live in Stratford, I have been to Bridgeport many times. My favorite part is the sports. I’ve been to a Sacred Heart Pioneers basketball game, as well as a Fairfield Stags basketball game this past year. Both schools are just outside of Bridgeport. I’ve also been to the Bridgeport Islanders, the AHL farm team of the New York Islanders. I am hoping to one day see a University Of Bridgeport game, probably women’s soccer. That team is very good, as in 2018, they won the NCAA Division II National Championship for women’s soccer. In addition, as they undergo many redevelopment projects, they are building a soccer stadium just across the river from Downtown Bridgeport! It will be home to not an MLS team, but an MLS Next Pro team. That league is the minor league for MLS, and the team will be called Connecticut United FC.

I work in property management. I have 1,107 doors right now. I would never recommend electric heating. ESPECIALLY if you are looking at a lower income/older apartment. They are more likely to have higher ceilings. The electric bill for heating those places is insane.
