    Hare Krishnas are not Buddhist, but it is a form of Hinduism that seems to focus on the Western world and they are a legit international organisation. They have been around for a long time, and it is not purely a scam. Offering books and asking for a donation is their regular approach, just the electronic/digital payment device is new. And their vegan food is usually very nice, they often cook so much food that they also give out food for free to homeless/poor people.

    Thanks for the insight, @dead_rat I wasn't aware that Hare Krishnas are a form of Hinduism and not Buddhism. It's interesting to learn about their global outreach and how they operate, including the digital payments for donations. Plus, it’s great to hear about their work providing free vegan meals to the needy. Appreciate the education on this!

    I'm not Croatian but have lived in Zagreb for 5 years. I don't usually comment, but first of all, what is the scam? You choose to donate (any amount) for some books that either once finished reading them you believe (your choice) or not. No one is forcing you to do anything or pay anything. Regardless, if he is a certified-practiced Monk or not he is going about his day selling what he deems to be interesting or otherwise believes. It seems you posted this video for clout. Just go about your day and enjoy the city of Zagreb. There is NO scam in the end as in the end you buy a book! Who cares about the legitimacy of his word as you will be making a difference either way; hes trying to earn a living like the rest of us. P.S he didn't mean you will literally grow wings and fly- he meant it metaphorically- great poet.

    @iamalphaforreal wow..cool. I heard that later when I watched another vlog. Congrats on expecting your new baby. I wish I got to experience Croatia, I'm sure it's beautiful. I have seen a lot of vlogs and it's so amazing. Have you been to Split or Dalmatian Coast? You have done well learning Croatian too. I speak a little,just what I learnt from friends. I never knew my dad (Croatian) and mum is Aussie. I'm curious..are there many African immigrants in Zagreb? How did you meet your wife ?

  • @iamalphaforreal
    @iamalphaforrealАй бұрын

    I haven't made it to Split or the Dalmatian Coast yet, but they're definitely on my list of places to visit next. It's quite compelling to hear about your Croatian roots, especially since you've never met your father. Exploring Croatia could indeed help connect you with your heritage. Here in Zagreb, the African community is quite small,I've met only one Nigerian. Most immigrants hail from other European countries. By the way, I met my wife in Paris during a holiday. I hope you get to visit Croatia soon, it'd be interesting to hear about your experiences when you do.

  • @lusimyer
    @lusimyerАй бұрын

    @iamalphaforreal I didn't think there would be many Africans, but in time, it will happen. Maybe you can go to the coast for a honeymoon..lol. That's amazing that you met in Paris. It sounds like a story to tell. I doubt I'll get to Croatia now, I should have done it decades ago. So you will have to do it for me! 😄 I follow another Y T'er who's a Croatian/Aussie. He and his family left here to live in Croatia. He has a boat and they sail around to different islands. I enjoy seeing the amazing places he goes to. He doesn't post much though.
