What is the specific gravity of this slurry Too Friendly? looks too viscous but did the job done.
Where do you get your pigments?
Nice work!
thank you! was so fun to play around with
I’d like to try this someday.
PART 2: Slip Casting the Venus Italica COMING SOON!
Dopo quanti minuti viene travasato?
How long before you demould is really reliant on your type of clay, your supplier's recipe, the mould you have etc.
Whats that liquid?!
It's called slip, it's a casting clay
Is this burned at high temperature?
Yes! 1280 degrees celsius
What precisely is used to color the slip. I use cone 04 to fire my slip made molds.
I used clay stains, what you source is dependant on your ceramic suppliers
Is this a clay liquid is used?
Yes, it's called slip (also known as casting clay)
nice! any reason why yoi make it a 3 piece mold instead of a 2 piece?
The bottom of the piece had an indent, so it required a 3-part mould.
I just found your channel and love your videos! Do you have any tips on which plasters to use and where to buy for slip casting(just starting out)? Anytips on brands, I cant seem to find USG #1 anywhere
USG discontinued pottery plaster! It depends on the quality and how much you'd like to spend, so I would contact clay suppliers who also sell pottery plaster and ask where they source it for your area.

I have a question how did you do the slip in the video did you just leave the clay to dry then break it and add water and is there a specific clay I should use
You have a few options; pre-mixed slip where it is ready to go when used, powder slip where you add the water needed or you mix the ingredients yourself. When looking for the material, search for casting slip and read the technical sheets/ask the supplier what quality it is and will it work for your designs
So beautiful. I love this
cost i want to buy
ممكن مكونات الخليط والنسب المئويه
لو سمحت ما هيا المكونات التى توضع على الطين لتحسين جودة الفخار
Hi, depends on the type of clay slip you buy eg. midfire, earthenware, stoneware or porcelain and their ingredient ratios that will impact the quality. It changes based on supplier
How can I create the material by my self bec we don’t have it in my country,,I have been watching many art work by the same material but I couldn’t figure it out yet ,some say it’s clay others says it’s ceramic,,which material i can make by my self ,,its a really interesting job i full in love with it and its a very lovely video thanks for sharing it ❤
There are recipes online that you can buy the individual ingredients to mix your own! It's pretty technical though, so I would do small batches to test.
If i have clay then i add water to it ,does it become as the same liquid that u used for this video?? Im in love with this work it’s lovely and the video make it looks easy and smooth,,nice video🌹
No, you need to have the right chemical balance if you are making your own clay slip! It definitely looks easier than it is hahah
Apakah anda menggunakan sodium silicate?
Do you make bulk custom pieces? 100-500
yes I do, depending on the project and type of piece
Thank you for this wonderful video, but what are the tools and materials used, does the drying method require an oven, what is the insulation material, and so on? Can you tell me or make a video about it?
The clay is porcelain, it needs to be fired twice - bisque & stoneware. Pieces are made using a plaster mold that I created from a 3D print
What did you pour first at the bottom before pouring the slip in the quart size beaker?
Different coloured clay slip!
Changed the speed to 2x. Much better.

I really want to do this!
Loved this! Do you have any videos on how you make your molds?
not yet, going to be making some in 2023 though!
Hi dear . How much pigment and water you add??
Each pigment calls for a different measurement ratio depending on what type of clay you use! Mine is close to 1:1
Did you glaze it before pouring in tea? Beautiful video! TY
They are glazed on the inside only, I use porcelain so it is waterproof :)
I'm pretty disappointed to find out half way through the video that you don't offer quantities :(
Hi! It completely depends on the type of clay and pigment you are using. Mine is close to 1:1 but I didn't provide ratios cause it's not the same for all pigments
This is so cool! I went from watching primitive pottery to watching the at home version of the modern commercial method. I’ll probably stick to primitive for now, but I may try this some day.
How do you seal the cup pls? I don’t see a glaze?
Glazed on the inside only, I use porcelain so it's waterproof and doesn't require glaze on the outside
@@toofriendlyceramics Thank you so much. That’s something I didn’t know. I’m very new to pottery just playing around as a hobby :)
I LOVE how organized and clean your studio is 😊❤
Thank you!! 😊
❤️
🤔
Depois de fazer esse processo no gesso, você só enverniza e está pronta pra uso ou você leva as peças ao forno?
It gets bisque fired, glazed with a clear gloss and then stoneware fired before use
Precisa levar ao forno?
Yep all pieces get double fired, bisque and stoneware
I love the vibe in your videos. And the castings are 😍
Thanks so much!
I wish you would explain each step
But then it would reveal all my secrets 😉 hehe
How did you do the mold?
I made the mold with a 3D print
And these videos are very satisfying to watch
Are that casts fragile? Whenever I see a video like this it looks like they are hangeled very carefully, like it will break. But the bands on them look tight.
Yes the casts are super fragile, and prone to warping when I make them. They have to be handled really carefully
Can you tell me which materials was used in this work or capture the label presence on the plastic container
I use a porcelain clay and mix pigments into it. What you can source material wise depends on your location :)
Qué bonito gracias por su tiempo de que material es y me gustaría saber más, gracias
Barbotina = Argila + água basicamente
Thanks for this video I have one question What is the time to remove cup form plaster mold And what type of material you use
I use a porcelain clay and the timing depends on how thick you want your piece to be!
what casting slip are you using? it looks premixed?
A porcelain slip, it is premixed and I add coloured pigment to them
What are you using to cast this?? I love the end result. Im wanting to do something similar to this process.
Plaster molds with a porcelain clay slip

Best part of my day watching these.
tooooo kind 💕💕
Hello , thank you for your videos but if you can add some typing to explain more about the materials , timing and the process that would be so helpful for people who are learning like me :)
Hi! We have a quick how to video on the general process of mixing pigments kzread.info/dash/bejne/iqyNtcqBhavfpJs.html 😊😊
Lovely filming
