Chopper is such a good addition to the crew. It's handy to have a doctor when your captain keeps fighting everyone he meets. Also yeah nobody likes wapol. He is functional as a villain but other than that he is just a bad person who doesn't pose much of a threat

He’s incredibly skilled-able to talk to animals, heal and treat crew members, and serve as a top-notch doctor. He’s also quite strong, ranking 12th in the power list, and he’s absolutely adorable! Wapol is a very functional villain. He presents a clear bad guy to beat and shifts the emotional focus of the arc heavily to Chopper. I like this arc because of Chopper and his story and the many cute and cool moments sprinkled in between like vivi getting luffy to bow and ask for help rather than fight. Luffy carrying sanji and nami is another good one. Arguably the best one is still to come

To be honest, I actually like everything except Wapol. For all he says, he has nothing to back up his words-no real intelligence or strength to support it, not even by instilling fear. This means I saw his claims as mere rambling. However, the cool moments were really impressive. In terms of character perception, I thought Sanji, Zoro, and Luffy were invincible against Mother Nature, but I was very wrong. The avalanche and extreme cold took Sanji out, and even though Luffy managed to get everyone to the doctor, he passed out at the end. Now I view the climate of each island more seriously, as it can damage even the strongest among the Straw Hat pirates! The climate is a far stronger opponent than Wapol!

@@GiraffeReactionsZone i will be adding "the climate did more damage than you" to my list of insults to throw at wapol. The reason Wapol doesn't have to be a big and strong villain is because everything you've seen so far is just build up for Alabasta. One piece does this a lot. A few arcs of exploring the world and new concepts while also slowly building up someone like Crocodile as a major threat to be defeated in the future. Other arcs might add crew members or are just really good for worldbuilding and they don't have immediate impact but only a few arcs later will the significance of such an arc become important. Also just to be sure: every island is it's own arc and a collection of arcs that are one big storyline is called a saga. East Blue is a Saga that contains episode one until the end of Logue Town and the Alabasta Saga runs from entering the Grand Line until the end of the Alabasta arc.

I mainly mentioned it because you'll likely see people use those terms in comments and i thought i'd be nice to know how those terms work in one piece. But yeah every island is it's own arc. Some are 10 or 20 episodes and others are 300 episodes (that's Wano, the longest arc in one piece)

Kuro is stronger than zoro, i think it should be 600,luffy won because he got serious there is a high difference between zoro and luffy.

Kuro and Zoro have the same minimum strength, and while Kuro’s specialty is speed, he still lost to Luffy. Therefore, following the rules, I have to cap his strength at 600. Keep in mind that this doesn’t necessarily indicate the outcome of a fight. At this point, Kuro is very close to Zoro in strength, so it wouldn’t be a one-punch fight. There would be no clear winner based solely on these rankings, as many other factors come into play during a fight. I would consider giving Kuro a maximum strength of 800 (which would make him equal in strength to Zoro) if Luffy were injured or passed out after their fight, or if there were other indications of significant damage. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I would actually love to see a fight between Zoro and Kuro!

Regarding strength, I’m trying to follow the rules and base my assessments on the evidence presented in the anime. I greatly value your input! In the case of Luffy’s fight with Lion Richie, since Luffy fought seriously, he couldn’t apply a 10-times stronger multiplier. However, this doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have won without fighting seriously; it's just not something we can determine because it didn’t happen. That’s why I don’t mention it; I’m focusing only on the evidence available. I do value your opinion, though, and it's possible he could be at 40; he just hasn’t shown that level yet.

If you want to know what movies to watch when then you can most likely find articles or forum posts about that. I will have a look for you later. Not all the one piece movies are good either but there certainly are a few really good ones but none of them happen at this point in the story. The ones you should absolutely watch when you get to them are: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Isles, One Piece Film Gold, One Piece Film Strongworld, One Piece Film Z, One Piece Film Stampede and One Piece Film Red. All of these are definitely worth watching and some of them are even really really good like Film Red and Baron Omatsuri

@@GiraffeReactionsZone as it turns out there are two movies that you could watch right now. One Piece The Movie (after episode 18) and One Piece: Clockwork Island Adventure (after episode 53). You could also watch One Piece episode 0 (yes one piece has an episode 0). There are a lot of one piece movies and most of them aren't really worth watching but there are a few that are very good. If you wanna watch a really good one i would recommend Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island (after episode 224). Its a very dark movie with an interesting art style and a compelling story. Other notable movies are One Piece: Strong World (after episode 381), One Piece: Z (after episode 578), One Piece: Gold (after episode 750), One Piece: Stampede (after episode 889) and One Piece: Red (after 1030). These are the most notable movies and I don't really recommend the other ones but if you want to watch them that is of course completely your choice. I do highly recommend watching episode 0 at some point because its good and it drops some lore.

It does change a few things because they had to do the entire east blue story in just 8 episodes of 1 hour each but overall it is a very good show that manages to capture the spirit of what one piece is perfectly. I've seen a lot of positive comments about it and i watched it myself as well. It does spoil one major reveal that you normally wouldnt really get until episode 310 or so but it's not that big of a deal. It reveals the identity of someone who is related to luffy. Its an important detail but it won't ruin the anime for you if you know it already. If you do decide to watch the live action now then you should keep in mind that we don't know about their connection in the anime until way later. It will be obvious who im talking about. Since you already watched all of east blue you could totally do the live action now because there will be no real spoilers for you. It does do some things differently than the anime so i tend to see the live action as its own thing and the anime as its own thing and i try not to compare them too much. The live action is just very fun and especially really fun for people who are new to one piece and have never really watched anime or who don't know if they want to try such a long show. Its also fun for people who watched it already because its still a fresh take and there are difference. One big one is that there is no Luffy vs Don Krieg. This explanation was a bit long but i hope it helps

Luffy’s feelings are evident-because they are his friends, and as captain, he can’t afford to lose anyone with such a small crew. Even Alvida from Episode 1 had a larger crew...

Yeah, I see Luffy is struggling a bit. For now, he has Vivi by his side, who can show him different ways to handle things. I personally really like this because Luffy's "ignorance" is now change into "inexperience" as a captain (in my opinion), which could be a downfall for the Straw Hats. Hopefully, he will improve, or he’ll always have smart people on the ship! In this case, Vivi is the MVP! PS. Can you help me understand how the climates in the Grand Line work?

Some islands have a permanent winter, others have a never ending summer and some others do have different seasons. Every single island is different and the distance between the islands doesn't really matter. There are no real climate zones.

the goldfish is the Island Eater. the island miss all sunday gave luffy a log pose for is called Nothing At All island and it was the poop of the island eater that was big enough to form a completely new island. Back when we met Usopp he was telling stories to that rich girl and one of the stories was about how he defeated a giant goldfish that eats islands and it poop alone was big enough to be mistaken for an island. Dorry and Broggy actually say the got to that island once and thought it was a real island before discovering the truth. Usopp`s lies have a tendency to come true way later in one piece. One Piece is famous for little details like these. I also love how nami getting bit by a mosquito leads to the next arc. also you said the straw hats dont owe vivi anything. thats true but once they become friends with someone they will do anything to help them. you have seen how luffy acts, he isnt always logical but goes by his feelings so if he likes vivi he will want to help her

@DorianTheReaper Yeah!! You are right! Usopp did say something like that, and I thought it was lame at the time... Shame on me... I'll start paying more attention to his lies then! Thank you so much! Regarding Luffy, yes, he likes to be friends with everybody, which is fine, but the irritating thing is that sometimes he puts his new friendships over the old ones... like what happened when he wanted to punish Zoro at Whiskey Peak. In this scenario, Nami is in really bad shape! Now let's say Vivi does as Nami says and ignores finding a doctor for her. Is Luffy going to risk Nami's life just to save Vivi's country, or even Vivi herself? The second point is from the captain's perspective: are you willing to risk a crew member's health or life for an outsider? That can lead to future rebellion among the Straw Hats... I hope everything will go well!

@@GiraffeReactionsZone agreed, zoro vs luffy wasnt a good thing. Large part of the community agrees with that. As for luffy ignoring nami to help vivi, i think that would always be unlikely because luffy will just try to do both. It's not in his character to pick an outsider over the straw hats that's true but luffy often seems to find a third option where there really only should be two. If you give him the choice between vivi and nami he will say both and he will manage it too even if he doesn't really have a plan. Luffy always impresses me with how good of a captain and person he really is but i think it's gonna take a while before you really start to see his growth as a person. My opinion of luffy as a person has only ever gone up

Really looking forward to alabasta, that arc has a few really good luffy growth moments as well. Honestly luffy's growth starts to really pick up somewhere around the episode 250 mark so its gonna be a while but its worth the wait.

zoro was so based for wanting to go out in a pose like that. as for why he couldnt do much: he cant do a proper stance cuz his feet are stuck so he cant hit with as much power as normal and this wax is probably just way stronger than normal wax. it isnt explained too much so it has to be that. also that sheer amount of wax would be hard to break out of just because of how much there is and how heavy it is. i think zoro mentioned smt about it being really hard or dense wax in one of the episodes as well so my take is that its just much harder than normal wax.

Kuro is stronger than zoro, i think it should be 600,luffy won because he got serious there is a high difference between zoro and luffy.
Kuro and Zoro have the same minimum strength, and while Kuro’s specialty is speed, he still lost to Luffy. Therefore, following the rules, I have to cap his strength at 600. Keep in mind that this doesn’t necessarily indicate the outcome of a fight. At this point, Kuro is very close to Zoro in strength, so it wouldn’t be a one-punch fight. There would be no clear winner based solely on these rankings, as many other factors come into play during a fight. I would consider giving Kuro a maximum strength of 800 (which would make him equal in strength to Zoro) if Luffy were injured or passed out after their fight, or if there were other indications of significant damage. Regarding strength, I’m trying to follow the rules and base my assessments on the evidence presented in the anime. I greatly value your input! In the case of Luffy’s fight with Lion Richie, since Luffy fought seriously, he couldn’t apply a 10-times stronger multiplier. However, this doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have won without fighting seriously; it's just not something we can determine because it didn’t happen. That’s why I don’t mention it; I’m focusing only on the evidence available. I do value your opinion, though, and it's possible he could be at 40; he just hasn’t shown that level yet.

If you want to know what movies to watch when then you can most likely find articles or forum posts about that. I will have a look for you later. Not all the one piece movies are good either but there certainly are a few really good ones but none of them happen at this point in the story. The ones you should absolutely watch when you get to them are: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Isles, One Piece Film Gold, One Piece Film Strongworld, One Piece Film Z, One Piece Film Stampede and One Piece Film Red. All of these are definitely worth watching and some of them are even really really good like Film Red and Baron Omatsuri

@@GiraffeReactionsZone as it turns out there are two movies that you could watch right now. One Piece The Movie (after episode 18) and One Piece: Clockwork Island Adventure (after episode 53). You could also watch One Piece episode 0 (yes one piece has an episode 0). There are a lot of one piece movies and most of them aren't really worth watching but there are a few that are very good. If you wanna watch a really good one i would recommend Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island (after episode 224). Its a very dark movie with an interesting art style and a compelling story. Other notable movies are One Piece: Strong World (after episode 381), One Piece: Z (after episode 578), One Piece: Gold (after episode 750), One Piece: Stampede (after episode 889) and One Piece: Red (after 1030). These are the most notable movies and I don't really recommend the other ones but if you want to watch them that is of course completely your choice. I do highly recommend watching episode 0 at some point because its good and it drops some lore.
@@GiraffeReactionsZone yes i do highly recommend the live action. It does change a few things because they had to do the entire east blue story in just 8 episodes of 1 hour each but overall it is a very good show that manages to capture the spirit of what one piece is perfectly. I've seen a lot of positive comments about it and i watched it myself as well. It does spoil one major reveal that you normally wouldnt really get until episode 310 or so but it's not that big of a deal. It reveals the identity of someone who is related to luffy. Its an important detail but it won't ruin the anime for you if you know it already. If you do decide to watch the live action now then you should keep in mind that we don't know about their connection in the anime until way later. It will be obvious who im talking about. Since you already watched all of east blue you could totally do the live action now because there will be no real spoilers for you. It does do some things differently than the anime so i tend to see the live action as its own thing and the anime as its own thing and i try not to compare them too much. The live action is just very fun and especially really fun for people who are new to one piece and have never really watched anime or who don't know if they want to try such a long show. Its also fun for people who watched it already because its still a fresh take and there are difference. One big one is that there is no Luffy vs Don Krieg. This explanation was a bit long but i hope it helps

The scene of luffy climbing up and tearing his hands open on the rocks is so hard to watch. It showcases how far luffy is willing to go for his friends and his determination to get to where he needs to be.
Yeah, Luffy is clearly determined, especially since Nami is in need and Sanji has sacrificed himself and now needs treatment. Luffy’s feelings are evident-because they are his friends, and as captain, he can’t afford to lose anyone with such a small crew. Even Alvida from Episode 1 had a larger crew...
@@GiraffeReactionsZone the straw hats are small but each of them is much stronger than your average pirate so its a small but effective team. Plus luffy has a habit of finding allies wherever he goes

Hi everyone! At 4:55, Vivi explains the climates of the islands, mentioning they have four seasons. However, she adds something that confuses me a bit. Can someone clarify how the climate on the islands works?

Yeah, I see Luffy is struggling a bit. For now, he has Vivi by his side, who can show him different ways to handle things. I personally really like this because Luffy's "ignorance" is now change into "inexperience" as a captain (in my opinion), which could be a downfall for the Straw Hats. Hopefully, he will improve, or he’ll always have smart people on the ship! In this case, Vivi is the MVP! PS. Can you help me understand how the climates in the Grand Line work?
@@GiraffeReactionsZone the climate in the grand line is different for each island. In other words it is random as is the weather. Some islands have a permanent winter, others have a never ending summer and some others do have different seasons. Every single island is different and the distance between the islands doesn't really matter. There are no real climate zones.

It adds to how mysterious and weird the grand line is and there are so many theories on why the grand line is the way it is but we have yet to find out for real. 1100 episodes into the anime we still don't know but we know that we will likely find out before the end of one piece. Also vivi mentioned winter islands, that is the name for islands where it is always winter

the goldfish is the Island Eater. the island miss all sunday gave luffy a log pose for is called Nothing At All island and it was the poop of the island eater that was big enough to form a completely new island. Back when we met Usopp he was telling stories to that rich girl and one of the stories was about how he defeated a giant goldfish that eats islands and it poop alone was big enough to be mistaken for an island. Dorry and Broggy actually say the got to that island once and thought it was a real island before discovering the truth. Usopp`s lies have a tendency to come true way later in one piece. One Piece is famous for little details like these. I also love how nami getting bit by a mosquito leads to the next arc. also you said the straw hats dont owe vivi anything. thats true but once they become friends with someone they will do anything to help them. you have seen how luffy acts, he isnt always logical but goes by his feelings so if he likes vivi he will want to help her

Regarding Luffy, yes, he likes to be friends with everybody, which is fine, but the irritating thing is that sometimes he puts his new friendships over the old ones... like what happened when he wanted to punish Zoro at Whiskey Peak. In this scenario, Nami is in really bad shape! Now let's say Vivi does as Nami says and ignores finding a doctor for her. Is Luffy going to risk Nami's life just to save Vivi's country, or even Vivi herself? The second point is from the captain's perspective: are you willing to risk a crew member's health or life for an outsider? That can lead to future rebellion among the Straw Hats... I hope everything will go well!
@@GiraffeReactionsZone agreed, zoro vs luffy wasnt a good thing. Large part of the community agrees with that. As for luffy ignoring nami to help vivi, i think that would always be unlikely because luffy will just try to do both. It's not in his character to pick an outsider over the straw hats that's true but luffy often seems to find a third option where there really only should be two. If you give him the choice between vivi and nami he will say both and he will manage it too even if he doesn't really have a plan. Luffy always impresses me with how good of a captain and person he really is but i think it's gonna take a while before you really start to see his growth as a person. My opinion of luffy as a person has only ever gone up
Alright, it seems I need to give his character more time to grow. Even Vivi was trying to teach him how to behave, so hopefully he remembers this lesson! I still like him, though. Edited: Oh, I just realized that this lesson will go live on Monday. That's true, though.
@@GiraffeReactionsZone oh i know what lesson you mean. Luffy did go along with what vivi said because he realized he was going too far there. Really looking forward to alabasta, that arc has a few really good luffy growth moments as well. Honestly luffy's growth starts to really pick up somewhere around the episode 250 mark so its gonna be a while but its worth the wait.

zoro was so based for wanting to go out in a pose like that. as for why he couldnt do much: he cant do a proper stance cuz his feet are stuck so he cant hit with as much power as normal and this wax is probably just way stronger than normal wax. it isnt explained too much so it has to be that. also that sheer amount of wax would be hard to break out of just because of how much there is and how heavy it is. i think zoro mentioned smt about it being really hard or dense wax in one of the episodes as well so my take is that its just much harder than normal wax.
You're right about the limitations Zoro faced-being stuck in the wax made it impossible for him to use his full strength and proper stance. There was a moment when he tried to break through... Anyway, I'm happy Mr. 3 is gone because he caused a lot of confusion. I hope you enjoyed the episode! 👌
