I love calendly, and I have found that the person trying to schedule with me loves it, too! One of our favorite things is that you can create calendly links with multiple colleagues that checks everyone's calendar and only offers when everyone is available to the client for scheduling.
Hi thank you for the video, looking for a backup solution for Asana, would be awesome if you could leave a link to the service you were talking about. Thank you
Great work, thanks

Could you be kind enough to confirm if it's possible to import both Parent task and subtasks to asana via csv? You said we can only have move one subtask?, How many subtask can have within a parent task, and how many subtask can we have?
I am so glad you asked this! I'm sorry I was unclear. My comment was speaking to the number of layers of subtasks - can you have a subtask of a subtask? In my video, I said the answer was NO. However, I just rechecked this and I made a mistake - you actually can have up to 5 layers of subtasks (a subtask of a subtask of a subtask of a subtask of a task...) as long as your naming of each parent task is identical, as I explained in the video for the first layer. My apologies! To my knowledge, there is no limit on the number of subtasks a single parent task can have, so feel free to have as many as you like!
@@KelseaLopez , Sorry for bothering you, Kelsea! I have try doing the subtask, but l have been unlucky. I have about 143 subtask. I notice from your video, your Parent task is on row 14. (Blacksplash Tile) while your subtask started from 15-17. I have a rows of task from 3 to 143, I started my subtask at row 4 to 143 with the heading of row 3. However, it's still not working. I can see the single-select field highlighted, while the subtask is not.

Four years later and this still helps. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your life and personality with us. I laughed out loud multiple times with your humor and it brightened my day. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for sharing :)
What a great way to share your story -- personal and professional blended! Merveilleux, authentique.
Coming from a man who tells stories himself, this is welcomed! Thanks :)
This was really well done! I use free Asana a ton, but I learned a lot and thought about how I could organize my Asana better. Thank you!
thanks for sharing!
Loved this video! My wife's reaction: There's other people like us...
you are not!
What a lovely sentiment, Bastien. Thank you!
Thanks!
Bravo, Bastien!!🤣
Is there any option we can update timestamp what ever is posted in comment to one of the custom field
A rule can have the "comment added" trigger and the action can be to set a date field, but it will only contain the date, not the time.
But can I pass as text field the same as timestamp so that I can use in the reports those timestamps
How about API in that also I can’t pass timestamp or what and more over when Asana data syncing with Google sheet it’s still show as date not the complete timestamp?
@@Chandragupthareddy I am sorry I don't understand what you need. You should head to forum.asana.com so we can take time to discuss
How can I delete a tag so I only have one of each name? Thank you SO much for providing this training.
When you click a tag in Asana it opens the tag page and there is a ... menu to delete it!

What a battle! 🤜🤛That was really fun and entertaining guys. When is episode #2 coming?
I need to find new questions and ways to make the game fun 😄
Thanks for the video. I'm hearing some background music in it that's a little distracting, fyi.
Fun!🦄
Entertaining, great job 👏
This was fun to watch. Well done.
Thank you!
Great dialogues between two professionals! Really enjoyed it! Congratulations! 👍💥
So great to see Andrea here, the person behind some of the most creative, detailed Asana Forum Leader Tips! It's a treat to learn more about her thoughtful, people-focused approach. I think we all wish Andrea worked in our own organizations!
Great video. I would love to hear about your process with Meetings and Asana; how you are linking the two.
When someone books a meeting with me through Calendly, it creates an Asana task (thanks to Zapier). This meeting task goes into the client project (or under the lead task). I use the task to notes.
First off, you tube ads is killing me. Appreciate the help, how about a change to asana to fix this natively, it has been years
You kinda pointed out to things I can't do anything about 😅
@@asana-ido Sorry :( It is just very frustrating when it is so easy to do code wise and it sits.
"so easy to code", really? I don't agree there, that's kinda pretty hard to do right :p@@steveaxelrod7865
I love the point that the Train the Trainer approach might be ideal but is not always realistic - especially because I work with a lot of smaller teams who already have to wear a lot of hats. In addition to training, I often spend a lot of time helping set up and assisting with iterations then in longer term engagements to assist with the more complex components. It always also reassuring to hear about others struggling with encouraging leader engagement (rather than them just saying the right words).
Thanks for sharing!
Great conversation, Richard and Bastien!!!
This video is super helpful. Thank you
Would you kindly put the chapter to your long form video, please?
I'll ask the team if we can!
Thank you Bastien, do you want me to assign a sub task to them? 😂
Very helpful. Thank you. How do you export whole projects with rules to provide these download links? I only know csv export.
As Asana consultants (Ambassadors do too I believe) we have special accounts called "Phoenix" where a project can be exported "as a link"
Lovely video. Very helpful & concise. Thanks Bastien!
My pleasure! (Bastien)
this is great news!
I am already using it!
January 2023 Me I built a "New Year" section in my admin project with annual recurring tasks that is just for this purpose. January 2024 Me was very happy!
Maybe a daft question for you - but where does the actual writing go in asana? Do you type in the description or attach a document which is a bit of a pain to open and edit then. Is the idea that the writing is completed outside asana and ready when its attached?
I was writing inside Asana directly :) those were fairly short chapters
Thank you! @@asana-ido
Great conversation! We are starting to add Asana to all of our job announcements and descriptions. We want candidates to know that we are invested in Asana and any serious candidate would need to commit to having at least some familiarity with Asana before starting.
Great to know. We are working on a "certification" but the current Ambassador is a good program and you could ask people to become ambassador as well :)
I’m going to have to edit some of these snippets. Thanks for a great conversation!
To re-share them you mean? Or you want me to remove some?
For me to reshare. More people need to see this!
Thank you! it was at first fdifficult because the app in deskopt doesn't shows the "+" to add a field... so I was going crazy to get to that point.... I had to do in the online web app. Other thing is that I wanted use the temporizator, but with the default "real time " field it happens what you said.... the total when I do the formula with that field thow me a crazy number with no sense! So, if you know how to use a temporizator in the field that you have created as "time spent" let me know. Otherwise I suppose I have to put it manual and have my temporizator in my phone or other app....... Do you have a solution here? Thanks!
Isn't the crazy number a number of minutes when you were maybe expecting hours?
@@asana-ido yes the crazy number doesn't work if we use "real time" that is the default field, only work as a customized field as you did :) .
However I found the way how it works but I won't try it because 1 second is 1 hour hehehe or something like that
you should post on the forum so we could all help you. Richard Sather is the expert on formula maybe he has an idea.
Thanks, this was a great video. Can you also share what automations you have set up for My Tasks?
I have 3 types: - task no longer blocked -> move to Recently assigned - task due today -> move to Recently assigned - task moved to snooze section (e.g. "3d") -> add 3 days to the due date
Loving your content! What are your automations on the 1,2,3? @@asana-ido
What I shared above is the automation, defined in Rules. The names are almost exactly the ones you'll find in the Rules editor. Let me know if you need help.@@adscei
I like and use this feature, but wish you could change the auto-task title.... I would prefer something a little more declarative than "Consider updating your project progress"
You can already guess my New Year’s Resolutions 😅
My Tasks is a great investment!
I agree 100%. I think of comments (especially on solo tasks) as a gift from present-day me to future me. :)
nice to way to see it!
😂
Thank you for this! I didn't know you could re-name the rules. This is so helpful!
At one point it becomes necessary to keep track!
