If you've found yourself here, hi there, I'm Meg. Just a singer, working to learn a little accompaniment and get back into music. Trying to unpack my baggage, one shitty cover at a time.
I'm really enjoying this chance to learn and grow in a creative direction that is just for me. Thanks for being here, I appreciate it.
I think I'll stick around a while longer if you decide you want to stay too. ❤️

letting you know i've been here. no notes i think this challenge will be best yet
Thanks Dan! 🥰
Another episode of the challenge showing steady improvement with a love of the music and an interesting reverb (when it first appeared, I had to rewind and look to make sure Meg's identical twin sister hadn't joined in the fun; I couldn't see the twin, so I suspect Patsy Cline dropped in as a backup singer).
The thing about filming every day is sometimes my audio is funky and I’m just like “welp, that’s what it sounds like today.” 🤷♀️🤦♀️
@@MegisTryingHerBestOK I wasn't complaining. I wondered if you were experimenting with reverb, but perhaps the reverb was experimenting with you. Either way, changes add to the experience and give one the opportunity to write a comment.
I love you
Oh gosh, thank you so much! 🥰
What did you do with the money your parents gave you for singing lessons?
great day. hope all is well.
Thank you! It’s been okay. Getting ready for my last big planned trip of the year (they all ended up stacked together here at the beginning of the year) and stressed over that, but otherwise enjoying the weather and the music. Hope you’re doing well, I’ve been loving your most recent covers!!
So beautiful!! 👏❤
Thank you!! 🥰❤️
Happily subbed for more this was great. Love your voice too! ❤
Thank you so much, Jo!!
You’re golden
Oh gosh, thank you so much! 🥰
For some reason today my experience included the lyrics popping into my head. "I go out walking after shug Knight searching for biggie"
😳😅🤷♀️
@@MegisTryingHerBestOK a day in the life
Super dope. Tremolo vibratro magnifico! The ukulalu'o'wahu will catch up 🦾🐸👍
Thank you so much!! ☺️
Don't you dare stop working on this! Stay at it!!!
Thank you! Day four is up now, it’s been so much fun!
this challenge feels different. really looking forward to how it turns out
It does, doesn’t it? I feel like something really ‘clicked’ with this one, I’m excited to see how it goes too!
This is such a great song!
Right? So much fun! Especially when sung sweetly by an eight year old. 😆🤣😆
Nice goin! keep on pluggin very good voice.
Thank you so much!! 😊
@@MegisTryingHerBestOK You bet
i almost teared up, there were so many great moments in this one.
🥹😭🥰
Keep up the good work, Love it.... "Love from Ireland"
Thank you so much!!
always .. :eek
I can’t even help it. 🤪
Sounds good, even for a first play through. If you ever want to sing one of our songs, you're more than welcome to do so :) By The Book may be a good one. We can get you sheet music and chords and everything you need.
Thanks so much, I’ll check it out!!
It's nice to get a new earworm, delivered daily, with such a powerful voice.
Oh gosh, you stick around, I like you. 🥰😆
Great to have the challenge back. It's a great motivator
I’m happy to be back! It was a rough start this go - but I’m really looking forward to working with this song! 😍
that was SO COOL. loved it keep it
What a trip. With Louie. And a flourish at the end. 🥳 Nice to see Meg felt comfortable enough to want to try a difficult dismount on Day 30
Watching from the State of Rhode Island-sorry-I can't say whether your version is good or bad-since I so dig Paul's-but-you've got my vote for just so passionately appreciating this-great-song-Peace!
Thanks so much!! 🥰
@@MegisTryingHerBestOK Fabulous song-recorded in 1972-& released on July 17, 1973-it went to #2 in the U.S.-& #5 in Canada-& the single-45 version record has sold more than 1 million copies-More Peace! 🙂
@@rubbersoul3723 I grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkel, and Paul Simon’s solo work. There really isn’t enough praise for how good it was and continues to be. Love his music. ❤️
@@rubbersoul3723 if you’re interested I have a full length version of this recording on my profile as well, I think it’s linked to the short. Regardless - thanks so much for taking a minute to check this out and say hi!!
Congrats on another successful challenge, Looking forward to your next one.
Thank you so much!! 🥰
I need to do one of these. but not a clue how. "Hi i'm the prolific song butcher, the peter dinklage tribute act, the acoustic autistic, I barely know what i'm doing today so don't expect the channel to have a direction tomorrow, bill and ted are better moral guides than any supposed divinity. you haven't lived til you've had cajun salmon"
I literally wrote out a “who, what, when, where, why” blurbs because I didn’t know how to start then it sort of flowed into itself from there
I also request a verbatim recording of this intro for your account, it’s absolutely perfect. 😆
♥♥♥♥♥
Thank you so much! ❤️
Appreciate you Meg. Really looking forward to the next. And well done on another successful challenge.
Thank you!! I’m excited, and I appreciate too!!
Day 30! Well done. What a trip we were invited on. Thank you!
Thank you so much for coming along, you have been so kind and encouraging! ❤️
Yo
😂❤
here with the coffee. this was a great second challenge. a definitive before and after.
wahay penultimate day!
Great choice of song. It works well on the ukulele 👍
Thanks Drew!!
that first "listen" lyric had some amazing chord work behind it. great listen through in general
very cool. warts and all.
Hahah, I was thinking of you, we just talked about it!
@@MegisTryingHerBestOK it is a good uke track though.
@@danrudge5997I’m considering doing livestreams and just playing through everything I’ve recorded/been practicing. Basically just practicing live, I guess, not really sure how else lives might work on my channel?
@@MegisTryingHerBestOK been thinking about the same thing. but i think in my case it would specifically be going back to the acwc tracks and doing open mic sets. like deciding to do 3 themed ones in a row. but i'm not sure if a live that short is worth it.
@@danrudge5997 I have been LOVING seeing your live sets, it’s so cool!
tf is this lmao
I can’t even handle your hair! So gorgeous!
Aw, thank you! ☺️
The improvements are mostly staying though. It's just those artsy not quite squared off chord changes around the melody that need tied down
Really much better though
Thank you, friend. ❤
Late to watching as well. Busy times
No explanation needed here, I haven’t filmed day 25 yet!! 💀
@@MegisTryingHerBestOK i'm on a day off. got home at half 3 am
@@danrudge5997yeah, I’m in Las Vegas right now, so three hours behind my normal timeline… saw Shania Twain in concert yesterday which was amazing, but I’m dead tired and my body is not happy with the mistreatment. 😂
Great work!
Ha, lyrics are my killer. I've even recorded songs with the wrong lyrics, go back a listen weeks later and notice. Just ran across your short off to check your channel out.
Welcome to my crazy little project! 😅 Totally just went and looked at your channel too, great job!
congrats to the bro. and to you. i really heard the progress. what sheet are you working from, ultimateguitar?
Yep! I have the Pro version for this year (I forgot to cancel the free trial… 😅) and I’ve been enjoying it. I’ve also checked out Chordify and Yousician, but since I have a subscription to Ultimate Guitar for now that’s what I’m sticking with.
This is fabulous
Thanks so much! It’s definitely a work in progress, but it’s fun!!
I'm hoping a tie leads to a mashup of Walking After Midnight and the Neighbor Song for, I think, the very first time.
I… wish I could make this happen for you, but I don’t have the steady hands or the technology for that kind of maneuver yet. 🤣😅 BUT, I’ll stick a pin in it, because you’re totally right, I bet those two likely haven’t been paired before!
popped in with a coffee on 5 hours sleep. i voted already but i suggest if it stays a tie you do both in alphabetical order as always was a pleasure to listen in.
This is a great solution with the bonus of alphabetizing things, of which I am always a fan, haha.
Regimented chord changing sounding closer. Maybe its the rhythm?
I honestly think changing the strumming rhythm did help make that a little easier to navigate, time will tell!
And a new one drops. 6am here. Not a time I want to be awake, but this helps a lot
You even beat me to it, haha! Have a great day - it’s 1:15 here, I’m turning in.
Get your face insured. That thing is amazing!
Hahahah, well thank you?
