    Have the same blade. Down here in S Florida heat and humidity the SMOOTH is just not optimal. Looking for scale options that have more GRIP. AWT still looks slick, so they are out.

    if it was carbon fiber on both sides I would buy it right now. I'm not a fan of show side vs. clip side knives. strider, zt, medford, hinderer all do that a lot and I'm not really sure what the attraction is, or the reason for doing that. if it's simply saving money, then why not offer it with both sides and charge more and show side vs. clip side and charge less?

  • @pocketknifecollector
    @pocketknifecollector6 күн бұрын

    With a framelock knife the clip side needs to be something stiffer than carbon fiber-either steel or aluminum or titanium. If Case made the knife with carbon fiber on both sides they’d need to change it to a liner lock rather than a frame lock.

  • @blinded1961

    @@pocketknifecollector yep, meant to include that in my criticism. liner lock and both sides carbon, I'm buying it. "liner lock isn't as strong as frame lock"------I don't care

    I hope st. Nick's(preferably) or another vendor like bento box or Rivers edge cutlery does another 4V run. Spyderco's exclusives are the best and I particularly like St. Nick's because of their red signature g10 handles. I can do without the DLC coating though.

    Wish they didn't have that square patern in the scale. It's there for structural support, because material is removed within them. It sure makes the knife look cheap. Probably the worst execution of uletm scales ive seen. They should have just made the scales thicker, sold like everyone who's doing ultem. End result would've been much better.

    Maybe that specific one but that type of blade was made during world war II in Germany for the war effort. I'm not going to argue on what branch it was in the Navy or Air Force or whatever they in but we are German. My grandfather was in the war and we've got plenty of memorabilia that he was issued with. If you'd like, I'll email you some pictures of those@@02Benji

    I have the newer Elmax version with elforyn scales. Mine locks up around 45% out of the box, which I prefer. It’s a great knife and I’m carrying it over some others I have that have more modern design. I find this knife has the build quality of knives of the 90s, when companies actually made knives with more care and quality. Plus convex is superior imho
