David Stewart

Hi - I'm David Stewart.

In the summer of 2018 I decided I didn't want my professional and working life to dominate the next 30 years.
This idea was due in no small part to the arrival of first child and new born son who completely change my perspective on life.

I realised I wanted to be free of the 9-5 lifestyle - to spend as much of my time doing the things I wanted to do with the people I love and I would achieve this through earning more money with passive income, investing and making every last penny work hard for me.

So if you are interested in side hustles, savings, investments, making extra money then why not join me, and subscribe to my channel for useful conversation, practical information, challenges and real actionable tips and tricks on how to maximise your income and lead a life of financial joy?

I post content (at least) weekly and sometimes more often that that, so there is always something fresh to watch.

    I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

    Apart from costs, I always look at the reporting features of a GIA account. What capital gains have I made in the current year so far? What dividends have been paid in the current year so far? Estimate of total dividends by end of tax year. These are questions which I need answers to at least a few months BEFORE the end of the tax year. Some platforms make this very hard! Another difficult Q for some is 'how much am I up overall on portfolio account? - i.e. current unrealised value - amount cash invested - and also %age gain and average gain. Also some platforms take months to get a tax report doc ready and then don't include taxable interest payments!

    I am trying them both on to see how we find the ease of investing costs and choices. Thus far IE has been the most straight forward though I do like the T212 cash ISA option. I have funds with both Fidelity and Vanguard and am considering Transferring out eventually. Though no platform will see more than the 80k that's guaranteed. What are they missing? Well though I don't qualify but a Equity LISA/ help to buy would attract newer investors. I have found that with T212 you can find yourself in a fund that is priced in a foreign currency so a filter would be good. Interestingly you don't seem to push a referral code .

    Your argument is definitely somewhat correct. If I owned a business like eToro, I might take advantage of those who aren't savvy enough to avoid squandering their money on some popular investor. Based on my experience of using eToro for five years, I've found copy trading to be profitable, increasing my money by more than 50%. I tend to use other people's knowledge to my advantage. Overall, I would say eToro is a good platform. This video is meant to raise awareness for those who don't adequately assess the risks with their investments. For those watching this video, please consider using eToro, but do so carefully. Assess the popular investors you want to copy. Look into their vision, ideology, strategy, and portfolios to make informed decisions and do no just rely on stats.

    I went through a lot of financial crisis after my divorce, I had to raise my two kids alone, Currently I'm living smart and frugal with my money. Bought my second house already. Saving and investing lifestyle made it possible for me; even till now I earn monthly through passive income. I'm planning on retiring when my kids finish college,just hope it encourages someone that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have any of them right now, you can start TODAY regardless your age INVEST and change your future! Investing is a grand choice I made. Great video!

    Video Editing is too low 👎👎👎👎 Edit the video in a good style. Add nice b-roll animation when you are speaking or explaining something. This will increase visualization. Put proper subtitles, effects, transitions, and colors in the video. Insert the B-Roll (footage and animation) very well because it is absolutely low in your video. Do all this and then see how the video doesn't turn out good. 🍷

    It's been an amazing year for me. I bought $WSM a year ago and its gone up over 160%, I bought $PYPL in the low $50s and assuming they beat the next four quarters I could easily see it in the above the $100 range and that would comfortably put me in six figures. I tell you I put in all the research and buy a crap ton of a company and then I just forget about it until earnings come out, whenever I check the price every day it doesn't move. I don't check it for 3 months and it'll go up 20% in a week. It's funny how that works. I was this close to wiping out my entire £VUSA holding and dumping it all into $PYPL but I only wiped out about 33% of it. I remember leaving a comment on your video "Index funds are for losers - You Suck!" a year ago about $PYPL being the opportunity of the year. I'm waiting for either Cerillion or Coparts to hopefully drop at some point and alongside new money in the new tax year I might just transfer it all into one of those. My pension is basically 100% S&P 500 so I feel comfortable with just not having it in my ISA but we'll see, this market keeps going up which makes buying opportunities harder. Biggest regret is not buying $Meta sub $100 because I psyched myself out. I lost out on £75k there. I kick myself about that less now though, another opportunity will come along at some point. When I first started investing and I didn't know what I was doing I held Unilever. It did literally nothing for 3 years and once I figured out how to look at financial statements and read financial reports it was so obvious that business is poorly run and stagnant. I got out with an insignificant profit due to dividends but it was a great decision to get out of it and I'm glad you have as well. It's really disappointing how badly a lot of UK companies are run, management are pathetic. Fundsmith wrote a damning letter to their management and they still haven't listened.

    @@PrettyPennyClub As long as you get near to maxing out your ISA you'll retire a millionaire. I just want to get there faster so I'm fine with the research, I enjoy it. Funniest moment was watching the last Paypal earnings call and watching in real time as the CEO spoke the stock fall 10% in one second.

    Very helpful video. Thinking of moving to an Invest Engine ISA after the 6th April. Is your own, self-made portfolio on IE performing better than the IE managed portfolio?

  • @PrettyPennyClub
    @PrettyPennyClub4 ай бұрын

    It is compared to the managed portfolio I was offered. The managed portfolio offered is based on how you answer questions, so it could be different for everyone. I try to keep my self managed portfolio simple and it has worked well for me. There will always be peaks and valleys.
