Da'Bobs N Scale ManCave is centered around my love of Model Railroading and some of my other hobbies. The Man Cave is currently expanding into a whole house layout. The N-Scale train mainline is on a shelf that is 7-1/2 inches from the ceiling to the track. A 15 layer helix connects the mainline down to the staging yard and 18 stall roundhouse.
This channel explores my modeling process as I expand the layout into the other rooms in the house. I will make mistakes and I will show you those as well as the successes.
I occasionally do product reviews of N Scale train products and other items worthy of a review. I visit prototype museums and model train shows to show you what I found there in case you couldn't go. I also show you how I made something like bench work, electrical, scratch building, etc.
Thanks for checking out Da'Bobs N-Scale ManCave.

I love all train layouts, but gotta admit missing the n scale participation... thanks Bob !
At 6:34 This module is "Suds" a brewery in progress.
Did you see the new N-Possible couplers?
Being an N Scaler myself. The models are just larger. Do like the slower speeds run on freemo.
Huh. I've never heard of the term "Dead Rail" before. It sure as hell sounds alot simpler to maintain. (Feel free to "Uhm, Actually" this comment)
I'm an HO guy but .... Trains are Trains!!!!😋
if g n 15 is trains running on ho track what is g n on o scale track or s scale track?
Thanks Bob!!! Really enjoy these convention vids !
Hey Bob, my Uncle & I enjoyed meeting and talking with you at the Convention.....Great job on the video as well....Good luck with your N-Scale layout.
AWESOME, EXCELLENT and PERFECT!!!!! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.
Hi Bob, It was great meeting you at the show. I see you even got the back of my head at the Auction 😂🤣Because of my work schedule, usually I'm only able to attend the Altoona N scale weekend on Saturday,. It's a great N Scale show and if you're in the Area Bob, stop in, you'll never know what little treasure you'll find at the show. Not sure if I can attend next years show yet, but maybe I'll see you in Kansas City next year. Cheers, Rich S.
Altoona this year may be a pass, but you never know what I may decide to do.
Ta, that bridge sure gets around the country:)
thanks for taking the time to share the event with us .
can't even leave a comment on this video, just so much awesome stuff.. might even be enough stuff and layouts to convert a HO scaler to N. but I would never say that
This years convention was pretty good, a little smaller space than at Reno last year, but still a great time was had by all. Next year is in Kansas City.
Its a bullshit site. Its definitely not for transpeople. Been on it for over three and a half years. Mat absolutely no one! Garbage site! Transpeople definitely not welcomed on here. Acceptance and equality my ass!!!
Hi what’s your next train show please comment that your going to
Eclipse and a train yard... The only thing missing is a martini !!!! Thanks Bob !
4:33 What’s the old saying? Three or four MPH is a coupling, five on up is a collision. 😮
Well that's a relief to know the animals are ok. We can all rest easy tonight, unless the tornados get us. Knock on wood. I hear there is a tour of the zoo coming up in August and I hope to be there.
A relaxing visit to the zoo during the eclipse on 8 Apr 2024.
where are the trees??:):):):):)
A very windy day out in the plains west of North Platte NE.
Nice video! BTW, what is the slide switch for underneath the trailing trucks on the cab?
Thanks for the tour! The trestle supports for the layout were awesome! What a great idea!
Very awesome to see this show again, I attended the show back in 2011 while I was in Broomfield for work. I'll probably drive out from Calif next year for the show and demo the MRC Nexxt system (one product is off for FCC testing, next is heading out to users very soon, third will be heading out to testers likely in June)
I couldn’t get there to far for me to travel . Thank you for taking all of us modelers along. The Trussell is awesome. How many hours do you have in it. Thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend. 😎😎 👍
I counted in days, 102 days for the whole module, 30 days to build and install trestle.
LVT is - Landing Vehicle Tracked (LVT), Cool show, I missed it again
nice video DaBob
Hey I like this video at the Rocky Mountain Train Show and I really like the N scale trains and Layouts there and thanks for giving us this video this is a great video to show and there was some nice HO Layouts and trains too

Nope, but they have them at the Forney museum
Lots of cool stuff 🤠
Thanks, do you ever stay home:):)))??? You wife is very forgiving.....
I will be home for about 2 months after this weekend. N scale convention and then Evanston 24.
@@DaBobsNScaleMancave BTW, Bill Graham is building a new layout, and both he and Andy Crawford have attended the SecondSection YT broadcast that comes out of Wisconsin....
Large for N scale cookies, cool autoracks STEEL
Huge train show this year with more vendors and layouts to see.
Love the new trailer !!!
So that why you were in Tennessee home you had fun spending that money lol so you found James. Like the video Robert
Yep, I recently found a genie bottle on the beach and this is my first wish.
So that why you were in Tennessee
Nice video Bob and a nice trailer
Still waiting for scale trains to release their N scale Fox Valley GE ES44AH Law Enforcement i have on pre order. The rease was pushed from Dec of 2023 to December of 2024. Big sad
I wonder if the container was lost at sea? Several items were pushed back.
@@thomasboese3793 possibly
Hey how many boxes of trains do you have please comment this is Peter Kerpestein I’m Dying to Meet you
Well, there are 298 boxes in the trailer. But then again they are all empty.
@@DaBobsNScaleMancave Why, did you pick up a bunch of empty boxes? Other than to just pull our rails?
@@thomasboese3793 For April Fools. Boxes went back into the warehouse.
that was a good visit. shouldn't have a problem selling all that stuff at the Rocky Mountain train show.. have fun.. good old April fools
Happy 10th anniversary to your channel Bob. I gotta visit ScaleTrains while I visit the Smoky Mountains.
Took a trip to GA to pick up my new trailer for Free-moN events. Also stopped at ScaleTrains for a tour.
Is that the Free-MoN trailer?
It is my new trailer that will be used for Free-moN mostly. But I may have to use it for other things as well.
Bob, what an excellent review. I just purchased"GE Tier 4 GEVO Canadian National ET44AC Military Heritage SXT33636. Dcc with sound. It says in the manual if you press horn when ditch lights are ON they should flash. Mine doesn't do that like yours does. Is this feature railway specific or what I should do?
It is most likely railroad specific programming, some companies do not want the lights to flash when the horn blows, some do.
@DaBobsNScaleMancave OH, thank you Bob for your response.
Great video! I love the Kato Alaska collection. I have the Kato Alaska railcar set with additional cars. I also have the Wheels of Time Alaska bilevel cars. My Motive power consists of Two SD70s. An E8 2402. And the pair of Kato RDCs. These are rare to find in the midwest. I hope to ride this train one day!
I like that N C caboose you did a great job on about that Bluford Shops Caboose your right that would blow that Atlas Caboose away big time
Hello Sir, I agree with you that this set is really nice looking. I was hoping for a little more detail, like, for instance, if the doors were functional, that tiny bit of detail could make at least a small difference. With that said, would you think that if the paint issue wasn't the main problem, MicroTrains could have maybe stepped up their game, and it would be a better quality built product. One other thing I need to know about my problem is with the knuckle couplers on different cars. Is it true for all rail cars they should have compatible couplers so I don't have to break the bank making sure that all my cars of different brands will have the same style couplers? Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan
Well the STEEL set came out a long time ago, MTL has made major improvements with their newer models and tooling. The autorack molds have not been updated since this set was made, no manufacturer I have seen lately makes the doors on the ends move, that would be cool if they did someday.
I want Kato to release a pioneer zephyr
