I like three divisions of 8 once the ACC implodes. I like Stanford but not Cal. Then adding Wazzu and the Beavers creates an all PAC plus one division. Then the five Big 8 remnants plus three in the midwest division. Then in the East Will be Cincinnati, WVU, and UCF possibly Houston with four ACC schools. Thats really the only way i see us taking them. Could we have two 9-member divisions? Yes but then I'm not sure that moves the needle much. I do believe that the establishment of divisions is critical to reduce travel and to simplify and stabilize scheduling. With 18 members each program would only have one cross division game.

I’d like to see a 30 for 30 on a small football program from a small town in Utah being the last team from a non-cartel conference to win a NC and Heisman. But I’ll never see it.

Byu's D will be better than last year but they lack talent and depth up front which will hurt them. It would be a major accomplishment if they just moved into the top 60 defensively.

All we need out of BYU is to go 6-6 and win their bowl game. We don’t need to win a national championship or conference championship. I’ll be happy once we get that and continue to build upon it.

Well, im a biased Wazzu fan, but i'd really love to get them into the conference. If the big 12 can handle being across all the time zones, adding the pac 2 brings the assets that are left from the pac, as well as getting at solid chunk of NW viewership. Not sure if us BYU fans are in a great position to be picky about who else 'deserves' or should be getting into the conference...

"I think, maybe, perhaps....." As if this guy speaks for BYU. He has zero sources high up in the Athletic Dept and can only cite a fan poll he put out. The PAC 2 have already come out and said there is zero truth to this rumor that was started by the unreliable MHver3 one day out of nowhere. Feeling "sorry" for a program is not a reason to add a school. I know you two are podcasters but how about you try to actually vet some of this nonsense you guys put out there. SMH

Hey Jake I'm curious on your observations on Keanu Hill. I've assumed he's going to be a plug and play TE, but position changes can be hard. I haven't heard much about him at all since his position change...how has he looked so far? Is he running with the 1s / is he making plays?? Curious if you think he's locked up the starting TE role or if that's still completely open

Not totally bro, you got to remember without KY they wouldn't put up the money. They didn't put up the money for coachbpope and they don't put up the money for kalani. It takes both in my humble opinion, a credible, serious coach that donors have confidence to commit the money to show the players that command mo money mo money. Where all this ultimately goes I'm not too sure, but I'm going to enjoy the ride while it lasts.

  • @mgers75

@@kdeltatube They wouldve ponied up for Pope as well. 2024 was when schools started to wave the white flag on all the laundered booster buying and said if you cant beat them, join them. Pope was a very successful and popular coach who laid a lot of the groundwork to build those NIL coffers. He walked, so KY could run.

@@mgers75 very well could be, if Kentucky has showed the money, that's an indication, but OTH, we would expect Kentucky to be big in the money anyhow. So, as to how much they'd ponied up for Pope if still at Y, we can't be sure. My inclination is not as much as with KY. Maybe that understanding was part of his hiring.

I like both guys a lot. I will root for whoever wins the qb competition. I think GB could definitely win games for BYU but I think his ceiling is lower than Retzlaff. That Baylor year was his peak and anyone who watched that team knew he was by no means lighting it up. Baylor was quick to move on from him. He might be better than Retzlaff but I think Retzlaffs ceiling is unknown. Why not see what we have in Retzlaff after a full offseason and a year where expectations are low? Personally I think Retzlaff has potential to be very good. We will see!

I agreed with those here that wishing that GB would be our QB1. Jake… how about let’s just leave next year 2025 for next year 2025, til we get there. Let’s look at GB, we have NOT seen or focus on him on a BYU uniform. Another thing is… let’s sharp him up for another NFL QB BYU PRODUCT… that’s why they come to BYU, to get to their dream level of playing football. Hé would be good, what I also like about GB, he can runs, when he decides to cuff the ball and run, his steps are wide and can move the ball and gain those yards faster. He has ONLY 1 year, and if he get hurt, then will see your favorite QB JR will then comes in. I am ALL for GB to be our QB1. Let’s GO COUGS!!🤙🤙

Frankly? ARod doesn't seem to have a clue how to use Tight Ends... don't preach Rex to me. Rex was completely under implemented in BYU's schemes. Holker bolted once it dawned on him that ARod didn't use Tight Ends except as an afterthought. When BYU got absolutely Blitzed in Las Vegas by Notre Dame use of their Tight End? And then to see Holker turn into a massive force at Colorado State? Hope ARod sees the potential with this kid and Keanu Hill...

Winning is the only thing that matters for the “future” of the program. If it’s GBo at QB1(definitely is) and he helps us win then that’s the end of the conversation. If guys want to leave that’s fine. It’s the new word of CFB. Winning will bring QB transfer interest and and there will always be guys in waiting at BYU. If Jake is the guy that’s cool too but my money is on GBo
