where was the heavy duty alternator?
Get a Delta PAG electric fan and it will fix all your cooling issues.
I’ll check them out!
body swap with a duramax 2500
If I could afford that that would be sick
What belt tensioner did you use? Curious for my own swap, I was just going to make a slider with an idler pulley but I'd much rather have a real tensioner.
This one was off a Chevy equinox
Just put a rooftop HVAC unit, like on top of RV trailers it look Racey 😅😅😅
Haha
Change it over, get a nice name. Babe, put it on a new frame for the last incoming limit. Give that puppy a new lyft. 97 Chrome chrome call rims in the front. Do it up, do it out real nice new Ontario. Everything fun to donate truck. Get a donor truck at a duck and a newer A. New or Chevy drop a new drop of neur to speak Japanese drop. Drop me stuff in it and he seats everything
That engine appears to be the 1600cc Ford UK unit.
Quality of enjoyment improvement
Great video man. Excited to see what you come up with for it
Thanks man!
First you have to decide if you're going to keep it... It would be nice with a big block in it.. And a nice A/C.. I think I would try to find a front clip from a motorhome with a little more driver friendly steering geometry and get rid of the split rims.. put a little insulation in it and you have a really nice driver... Glad you picked this up... Take care...
Thanks
Would be cool to keep the patina look but make the internals more reliable so it can go to shows and events on its own
Yep exactly!
Please don’t ruin another classic !!!! Deserves a quality museum restoration !!!
😂😂
😅😅
Tho its almost a shame to change it from original if it was me id make a car hauler out of it with airbags. Put a reliable drivetrain in it change the rims and u will never need a tow and can haul cars
Kinda an idea I had too
@@Rustomod type slammed c60 in youtube,,,,there are some really cool ones,,,it would make the ultimate addition to the fleet!🇺🇲
@@racer67 Yes ive been getting lots of ideas
car hauler, sure - but not a lowrider.
@@boredom.victim the air bags are to adjust the height when the weight of a car or truck is on it like a tractor n trailer also to bring it closer to the ground when your loading n off loading cars/trucks n it doesnt hurt the look wen u set it in the weeds when its parked at a show!🇺🇲
Put a duramax in it.
Yusss
you've seen the price of fuel, right?
I have a lb7 and allison combo in Richmond on a cab and chassis frame I had a 67 c50 cab on but swapped to a 6.0 80e truck frame
Side exit would look epic but for street ability have a nice exhaust.
Bought one of these in 1998. City kept giving me parking tickets everwhere I'd park it, even got it towed away in a walmart. so I had to junk it for $5,000 in fines.
Wow
For those wondering what Boostd is talking about on the offset at the bulkhead between the frames being a inch and a half different from one side to the other, both sides are level on each frame just not between the two frames, he's talking about what we here in the US call "Z'ing" the frame. When slamming a truck you cut the frame at the firewall and the radiator supports and drop them down and weld back up lower on the engine frame with some gusset metal work to reinforce all if it. Something you would have to do if trying to lay frame with most trucks anyway since the engine cross member sits lower than the rest of the frame. Z'ing the frame allows the rest of it to lay out unless you have 3 to $4k to throw at a custom cross member. Keeping the engine and cross member up with the rest of it being dropped also allowed for him to still run the cv's to the 4wd without binding up like they would with a drastic drop.
mpg?
Were getting around 26-28
When I did a cold air intake on my jeep cherokee it made a big difference! I never understood having the intake engine air coming from the engine compartment! Thats the space you want to cool down! By using air already heated by the engine it kind of defeats the purpose!
Good point! We will have to make a better intake
@@Rustomod is that vent under the windshield interior air?
@@Rustomod meaning does the vent air from it go to the interior cab or the engine compartment?
Yes
A lot of people have been asking for an A/C update video HERE IT IS! kzread.info/dash/bejne/mpqupbODftLgcsY.html
Any update on the functionality ofbthe AC after a year?
Check out our most recent video
What was the thought process in choosing the VW TDI over say a simple and reliable GM 4.3 V-6.
The tdi swaps in the jeeps are pretty common also we wanted the diesel mpg
So after taking my 50 pickup on power tour this year I came home and installed a kit similar to yours. I’m also running into low voltage while driving and I’m afraid I won’t have enough voltage to start the truck if Iv had the ac on to long. On the drive there. Just running 100amp alternator. Looks like I may have to install as second battery to help carry the load. What amp is your alt and what’s voltage are you at while the ac is running? Love the build by the way. Iv got some old Willy’s pickups I’d like to do somthing similar someday.
Can you please tell me what rear coil over spring you used? I have a 05 Yukon Denali, I am wanting to delete the rear spring and put a coil over in the shock location like you did. Did it affect anything deleting the rear spring? I have a 69 C10 going on it! Thanks
I used an old maxpeedingrod kit I don’t think they sell it now but I think I saw somewhere qa1 might sell a kit for it now
@@Rustomod ok thank you for the update!
Did you check the draw on the AC? Looking at specs on epay and doing the math that thing can pull anywhere from 80 to 160 amps!! Add that electric steering pump....yikes...
Check out our most recent video
All very clever.
how's tbe TDI doing? got a Power Wagon and I thought about the little VW for mileage
Check out our most recent video
@@Rustomod I already did
I know that drive-by-wire is against your religion but the ECU and a VNT turbo from the 115 hp model makes a night and day difference compared to the mechanical pump with a shaved boost pin
Like this conversion thks for the video
Great build...except for the automatic.
Also I think you need to build a shroud that will pull air through the entire radiator
Yes most definitely!
that rig looks totally at home there
Definitely
They might be getting harder to find in the junkyards now days, but you might consider the Ford Taurus fan swap. Considered to be the most powerful electric fan you can use from either OEM or the aftermarket. It is a Ford 8C607 fan and is advertised as having 2500 CFM on low speed and 4500 CFM on high by most sources. It comes in the 90 to 95 Ford Taurus and Lincoln Mark VIII with the 3.8L engine.
That’s cool good to know some issues were dealing with is size the radiator width is really small because the Willy’s front is narrow but we think we found a solution
Is that your engine air intake under the hood? Isn’t that air pretty hot before it goes into the engine? Maybe consider a cold air intake and or some louvers in the hood!
That will be a nice ride when you get it all dialed in.. i love the dash that you made for this, it looks better than factory.. You guys take it easy and be careful...
Thanks!
Was on the beach that day and saw you flying the drone taking those shots
Really! Thats awesome!!
How do you like the 700r4 over a manual
It probably would be more responsive with a manual but we built it so anyone can hop in and go. Honestly I think it’s a really good set up it’s very simple and with the new torque converter shifts great! We’re really happy with it!
@@Rustomod all that matters
could your charging prob be because of the low revs of the diesel ? different size pulley on the alt ?
That could help the idle for the tdi is higher around 900 rpm
Great to see a wild mustang since you were in Carolla!! Looking forward to the Patina Party in August 🎉
Sorry about the audio on this one guys didn’t realize how loud those bugs were!
why not use the transmission from the silverado?
You can I didn’t because I had a 4x4 Silverado
I know you had mentioned that you cut the body too low onto the frame so you had to bag it. Well I think it looks perfect. Even if it was accidental. I want my swap to sit the same even though im going flareside. Any good info you can share with me on the "accidental too deep cut"? And the bag setup you might share! Its awesome man!

Thank you!
just fyi those shark bite fittings have a higher failure rate over 200 degrees, not a great idea for automotive use.
They have held on for over a year now still working good
Iv got a 37 ford ..it's a chevy chassis and running gear ...I'm trying to think and figure about an ac unit for it ..I'm thinking of a Amazon unit ..electric unit lines the condenser and the fan and also the under Dash unit ....but what about a dryer I don't know anything about ac really ..I used to rebuild air compressors and keep them from leaking down and tune the switch and all
Hey, from my 50 some years experience if you pressure wash anything first to get heavy stuff off you can let degreaser do its job down to the metal much better 🙂
Been working in the prius for years.
Can yall do a video on the beetle there's not much on superbeetles vs normal beetles.
Definitely we’re trying to get stuff together for a motor
Nice car and hope to get it run soon.
checked out the Yes Welder site. Very nice. I feel like cool shows like this will get freebies and pitch their new toy with a discount code and when you go look it up the thing costs $1,000s. Good for you, but not for me. But the YesWelder 250Pro seems like a really good deal. Hopefully I can get one soon. Keep crushing it. I love this channel.
cool man
Hard work pays in dividends down the road. Glad to see you cashing in on a bit of yours. Congrats all around.
