I had an inguinal hernia surgery on 12/06/23 still have numbness in that surgical area will i ever recover from it?? Can anyone share their experience for same..

Bilateral open inguinal surgery - two week ago…total numbness still below incisions inner thigh towards the groin…horrible…

i’m about to have hernia surgery tomorrow, but i had an emergency laparotomy and laparoscopy (they cut down my midsection and around my bellybutton, and made two small incisions for the scope on the sides of my stomach) last year, and i do still have minor numbness in my scars. it is not at all dangerous, as long as you don’t accidentally injure the area, so i would just do my best to just be safe and careful so you don’t accidentally injure the sensitive healing skin. the numbness may make it harder for you to actually FEEL an injury, but it’s not dangerous as long as you’re careful and you don’t accidentally for example stab or cut yourself with something, injure it with blunt force trauma, etc.
